Trumpettes Raise Money for Themselves at Mara Lago

February 26, 2019 By: El Jefe

NBC News was invited in for an exclusive look at a western themed party at Mara Lago this weekend.  The party cost from $500 per ticket to $20,000 for a big girl table.  The charity for which they were raising money?  Themselves, silly.  This was about the Trumpettes worshipping the Demigod Donnie at his Church of Perpetual Narcissism.  The whole sordid event was one of those that you can’t unsee.

Holy Mother of Godfather

Matt Gaetz is a 36 year old second term congressvarmint from Florida who is determined to lower this whole Presidential term to the lowest common denominator.  He’s a slug with a Twitter account..

He sends a heads up to Michael Cohen.

And if that doesn’t work, we have Pantageli’s brother from Sicily accompanying me to your hearing.

Good Lord, Cohen is going to prison for the rest of his life. Do you really think you can intimidate a guy like Cohen with some indiscretions? And the irony that it’s coming from a Trump supporter is all glittery with silly.

So, Trump, this is your idea of draining the swamp?

Thanks to Deb T for the heads up.

Black History Month: East Texas Style

February 26, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Y’all Okay, so I learned that they celebrate Black History Month in East Texas.  They held it at a planation.

No, I’m not kidding.

I guess Dr Ben Carson was booked so they got the only other Black Republican they know – Allen West – to come speak.

The newspaper article says that West read Booker T Washington’s “Cast Down Your Bucket” speech, “a speech that became known as the Atlantic Compromise speech.”

I think they mean Atlanta Compromise, but West is the one with the Ph.D. so what do I know.  If you’re not familiar with the Atlanta Compromise it was the worst damn deal ever made.  It said blacks would not ask for the right to vote, they would not retaliate against racist behavior, they would tolerate segregation and discrimination, that they would receive free basic education, education would be limited to vocational or industrial training, liberal arts education would be prohibited.

Hold on, West said he picked that speech because “it’s about triumph of the individual spirit.”

Forehead, meet tabletop.

I accidentally deleted a mess of emails and then I forgot who sent me this story so whoever sent it remind me.

When Twitter Says It Better

February 26, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

This morning over at the Twitter farm, a Republican congressthingy from California was protesting the rush of getting Trump’s emergency off the face of the planet —

You got amendments or something, Honey?  You want to add a farm bill to it? A few more adjectives?

Thanks to SGray for the heads up.

An Open Letter To My Republican Colleagues

February 25, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Adam Schiff and words.

To my Republican colleagues: When the president attacked the independence of the Justice Department by intervening in a case in which he is implicated, you did not speak out. When he attacked the press as the enemy of the people, you again were silent. When he targeted the judiciary, labeling judges and decisions he didn’t like as illegitimate, we heard not a word. And now he comes for Congress, the first branch of government, seeking to strip it of its greatest power, that of the purse.

Many of you have acknowledged your deep misgivings about the president in quiet conversations over the past two years. You have bemoaned his lack of decency, character and integrity. You have deplored his fundamental inability to tell the truth. But for reasons that are all too easy to comprehend, you have chosen to keep your misgivings and your rising alarm private.

You know, Republicans used to hate The Imperial Presidency and I’m certain they will go right back to hating it as soon as there’s a Democrat in the office.  You know, just like a national debt – it depends on who is spending the money.

Thanks to Adam Schiff for reminding them.

Evil Democratic Socialism

February 25, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Democratic socialism is so evil, especially when there’s so many other good things to replace it.

Seriously, he wants to use the Mussolini argument against socialism? Like Mussolini had a better idea?

Okay, it has become award-winning weird when a Republican United States Senator throws out a Mussolini quote with no context whatsoever. Yes, that is Texas Senator John Cornyn quoting Benito Mussolini. When challenged why he would quote Mussolini out of the clear blue, he explained that democratic socialists “have forgotten or never learned the lessons of history, and how their ideology is incompatible with freedom.”

And you’re gonna quote Benito Mussolini to make that point for you?

I dunno, John, if you’re gonna go full fascist on us, just say so.

Cornyn, after half the Twitter asks What The Hell, replies, “Did I over estimate the intelligence of some in the twitter sphere?”  That’s it. That’s all he said about it.

Yeah, that’s the problem in America today.  John Cornyn is just too damn smart.
