(Heavy Sigh)

November 28, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The Houston Chronicle delivered a tree in paper form to my house this morning with all the advertising inserts.  Black Friday.

I glanced through them and I have to admit that I didn’t see one damn thing I would be willing to go stand in line in the rain for or to get into a fight over.

I guess the greatest thing about getting old is that I don’t need much.  I need my computer, a comfortable chair to watch the news, chocolate chip cookies, shoes that fit well and don’t pinch my feet, a coffee maker, a Bubba to tell me I look pretty even when I know damn well that I don’t, a warm blanket that’s cozy, and did I mention chocolate chip cookies?

The blessing of today is that my sons and their families and my brother and his family are all coming to my house for Thanksgiving because of a water pipes problem at the planned location.  It will be crowded, loud, and fun.

We are all hardcore Democrats. I am thankful.

Tell us how how day went.

Happy Thanksgiving

Turn About is Fair Play, Right?

November 27, 2019 By: El Jefe Category: Trump

In one of his now well known narcissistic fits last night at his rally in Florida, Trump curiously boasted about his “gorgeous chest”, which is anything but.  Even more curiously, this morning he tweeted out a photoshopped pic of the character Rocky Balboa with his head on it.  Hold your nose, here it is:

Of course, we all know he actually looks like this:

So, turn about is fair play, yes?

Right?

It Blew Out Doors and Windows Three Miles Away

November 27, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

There was an explosion at a chemical plant in southeast Texas in the wee morning hours.  It’s a damn miracle there were only 3 major injuries and some other minor injuries.  However, we don’t know the full impact yet because the chemical released is known to cause cancer.

Welcome to unregulated Texas y’all.

William Joshua Hranicky, 20, of Port Neches, said that he told his brother goodnight and looked out the back window and “saw just orange.”

He said he told his brothers to run as the back doors blew open from the blast.

Macy Malin, 22, who was staying with a friend down the street from the site said the explosion woke her up. Her friend’s family, she said, were yelling and she realized that their home had been severely damaged.

“Their doors were blown open … doorknobs themselves were shot across rooms,” she said.

Malin then hurried home to Mauriceville, Texas, about 34 miles from the explosion, where she said her father was even woken up by the blast.

That blast?  That’s just the sound of freedom, according to our Republican friends.

I’ve heard from most of my friends in the area.
