New York Republican Representative Chris Collins was the first sitting congressman to endorse Donald Trump for President of the United States, and he served on Trump’s presidential transition team.

And for his encore, he’s going to prison.  And that’s how we drain the swamp.

Upstate US Rep. Chris Collins is expected to enter a guilty plea to charges relating to his alleged insider trading, according to court documents and a source familiar with the case.

His son and a friend are also involved and it appears they are copping to a plea, too.

Sadly, this is a very Republican district.

So many times people use the Tell Juanita feature, which I appreciate because it helps me sort through all the crap junk mail I get.  Since the Tell Juanita feature comes with a special marking, it makes me easier for me to know it’s not junk.  It makes my life easier.

However, it happened again today. What appears to be a perfectly nice man named Steve sent me a Tell Juanita note about baseball.  It was short, to the point, and I enjoyed reading it.  When I tried to email him back, it’s a bad email address.  That makes me sad.  I’m sure he just mistyped it.

It happens far more often than you’d suspect. Sometimes I use time that I could be sitting by the pool in my bikini to send you an answer or just to say thanks.  When it bounces back, it makes me sad.

So, please dear readers, double check the email address you use and make sure it’s right.

Please meet Karyn Turk.  She’s what Fox News calls a “conservative commentator.”

Fresh from hosting a fund-raiser for the legal defense of Republican operative Roger Stone, conservative media commentator Karyn Turk on Friday admitted she stole her 83-year-old mother’s Social Security checks.

Looking relaxed and unperturbed, Karyn Turk pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to a single charge of Social Security fraud. Turk, who was crowned Mrs. Florida 2016 and touts her involvement in charities, faces a maximum one-year jail term and possible $100,000 fine when she is sentenced on Dec. 13.

Her mother is in a nursing home with dementia.

Turk explained that this is a misdemeanor so she won’t lose her right to vote – a right she described as “very important to me.

In court papers, guardian Amy Nicol accused Turk of using her mother’s Social Security checks to promote her dream of appearing on “The Real Housewives of Palm Beach” and to garner publicity

We all gotta have a dream, y’all.

Texas Republican congressman Mac Thornberry just announced that he will be retiring at the end of his term.

That makes six Republican congressmen from Texas not seeking re-election.

Thornberry was elected on Newt Gingrich’s Contract With America and represents the 13th congressional district.  He represents the panhandle, an area of Texas that went 80% for Trump.

While his retirement doesn’t come as a major shock, the GOP primary for this seat is going to add more fun to the Trumpathon.
