ICE in Houston

Gene Wu just might be my favorite Texas State Representative right now.  He’s got good words but even better deeds.

and …

And as the sheriff of Harris County (Houston) said, “We need to arrest crooks, not cooks.”

Never Trust a Guy With a Smiley Face Necklace

Stephen Jennings is 40 years old and oughta know better.

Police in Oklahoma say they found an open container of Kentucky Deluxe whiskey, a rattlesnake, a gun and a canister of radioactive powdered uranium during a traffic stop of a vehicle that had been reported stolen.

That’s life in the fast lane, Honey. If you’re trying to get a date over at Bubba Hank’s Bait Shop and Pool Hall, you have all the necessary acrutamonts.

Although the uranium wasn’t weapons grade, police figured he was probably up to no good.

However, I guess the cool stuff worked in the romance opportunity because he was arrested with Rachael Rivera, who apparently is pretty much a Bad Luck Woman because she was charged with possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction.

The uranium, which Gibbs said can be purchased legally in some states, was not weapons-grade. It is unclear why it was in the vehicle or how it was obtained, he said.

“It was nothing we were concerned of as far as him using it as a weapon of mass destruction,” Gibbs said. “It’s very low radioactivity.”

Gibbs is a Sergeant in the police department.  It seems to me that we pay him to be concerned about uranium. Hell, I wouldn’t want someone cruising my neighborhood secretly taking X-rays of everybody, much less somebody carrying it around in a damn can.

Also, in Oklahoma, a rattlesnake is perfectly legal to have if you have a valid hunting license and, bygawd, this guy did.

Thanks to slipstream for the heads up.

Okay, I Can’t Help Myself

Look, I completely understand that you should not make fun of the way people look, even if they’re wearing a dreadful dress or a goofy tie.

Also on the downside of what I’m fixing to do is that you should not horror-movie shame people.

On the upside, there is absolutely no slut-shaming involved.

This, I am told from reliable sources, is a real picture.  And if it’s not, it should be.

I dunno know.  I certainly wouldn’t spend the night at their house.

Paul Ryan. Who Dat?

July 11, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

One of my favorite blogs is Joe. My. God. because it’s smart, factually correct, and the comments are good.  It’s targeted to the LGBT community and the language gets a little raw, but it’s always funny, or so filled with rage that it lets you release some of own own.

My friend Kary is a native Texan, who used to be a theater producer but is now living on the coast of Spain with his very handsome husband Jimmy and you bitches can eat your heart out, gives me a heads up when he sees something at Joe’s that he knows will bring me an overload of “well, ain’t that prissy?”

And so it goes today.  Paul Ryan climbs on a mountaintop and attempts to nail himself to the cross.  Ryan explains that he retired “to get away from Trump.”

“We’ve gotten so numbed by it all,” Ryan says. “Not in government, but where we live our lives, we have a responsibility to try and rebuild. Don’t call a woman a ‘horse face.’ Don’t cheat on your wife. Don’t cheat on anything. Be a good person. Set a good example.”

“I told myself I gotta have a relationship with this guy to help him get his mind right,” Ryan recalls. “Because, I’m telling you, he didn’t know anything about government . . . I wanted to scold him all the time.”

Here’s a preening pipsqueak’s take on what is a “good person.”  Cancelling people’s heath insurance and supporting enough tax cuts to cause a $1.1 trillion deficit does not make you a choir boy.

Thanks to Kary for the heads up.
