Literally Shooting Your Mouth Off

The Hunk de Jour at the Beauty Salon is Chris Krebs, the former chief of U.S. cybersecurity, who went on the electric teevee to say that this election was fair and believable.

Trump, who hired this guy, countered by saying that this was the most corrupt election ever. Oh no, wait, not just in presidential history – really ever.  Nothing has been this corrupt since Cain and God had a little discussion about who was whose brother’s keeper and the tie vote was claimed as a win by God.

So Trump’s lawyers rush in to defend him and first shot out of the holding pen is Joseph diGenova, a man slicker than your average oil spill.

diGenova has thought this through and prepared a well research and thoughtful response to make in the name of the President of the United States of America.

“Anybody who thinks the election went well, like that idiot Krebs who used to be the head of cybersecurity, that guy is a class A moron. He should be drawn and quartered. Taken out at dawn and shot.”

Well, there you go.

Krebs had an answer this morning.

Thanks to SGray for the heads up.

Clean Out Time

When Trump was first elected, I predicted, “he’s gonna get us all killed.”

He’s been unsuccessful at that so far, but bygawd, you gotta give him credit for trying. And it’s not just Covid.  Oh no, there’s more.

The Justice Department created a new rule that would allow methods – including firing squads and electrocution – “comes as the administration rushes to execute five more prisoners before President Trump’s term ends.”

“Last week, the Justice Department announced that it plans to execute three more inmates on federal death row. If the administration does so, along with two other executions already scheduled, it will have put 13 prisoners to death since July, marking one of the deadliest periods in the history of federal capital punishment since at least 1927.”

Now, I’m just speculating here, but maybe, no probably, Trump wants to make sure there are federal accommodations available for him and his family … and his administration.

Thanks to Star for the heads up.

In Like Flynn

December 01, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Last summer in June, Bill Barr asked Judge Emmet G. Sullivan to dismiss the case against Michael Flynn.  It was so outrageous that 2,300 current and former members of the Justice Department expressed anger and disapprove of Barr’s request. So, instead, Judge Sullivan hired a special prosecutor for the case.

That brings us to today.

The Justice Department, ironically named in this damn mess – has filed a motion yesterday in Judge Sullivan’s court to dismiss the case against Flynn because he got  pardon.

It was the first time the public has seen the entire pardon.

In a three-page filing accompanying the pardon, the Justice Department emphasized to Judge Sullivan that the language covered “any possible future perjury or contempt charge in connection with General Flynn’s sworn statements and any other possible future charge” that the judge or Mr. Gleeson “has suggested might somehow keep this criminal case alive over the government’s objection.”

Michael Flynn committed an unspeakable act against the United States of America.  And then he lied about it to the FBI.

At the very least the prosecutors files, the same ones seen by Judge Sullivan, should be opened to the pubic for  us to decided exactly what Flynn did. I fear that it’s worse than we know.

And yes, this does mean that if called to testify against any member of Trump’s administration or Trump himself, Flynn cannot plead the Fifth.  However, given his record on telling the truth, I doubt his testimony will carry much weight.

Thanks to Kary for the heads up.

When Trump couldn’t get cabinet members confirmed, he’d just appointed “acting” members and go on like nothing happened.

So, when John Cornyn uses his communication director to announce what the senate’s gonna do …

Oh really? Right out of the box all fresh and new? She has zero chance?

First off, John, you better make sure you can field a team before you start betting on the score.

Second off, how different is she than Mick Mulvaney?  I mean, other than Mulvaney being political hack.

And in the popcorn popper the president calls his cabinet the current Acting Director of Office of Management and Budget is Russell Vought. Today. But who the hell knows about tomorrow.

And lastly, John, I wouldn’t be talking big about somebody hurting your tender little feelings and now the whole country has to pay. You’re starting to sound like Trump.

Return from the Bubble

Thoughts from Nick Carraway
We all know about the bubble and have heard much about the bubble, but it is quite different when you live in it even for a few days. We survived the trip to the inlaws, but I’m a whole lot wiser in the meantime.
We requested no Fox and they obliged. Still, we were inundated with Investigative Discovery, MeTV, and Turner Classic Movies. The combination of that and being trapped indoors was quite overwhelming.
You simultaneously see the world as people thought it was while seeing the current one as a kind of cross between The Walking Dead and The Purge.
The takeaway is usually the same. I’m not so much left in wonder at that world but in wondering what world we’ve created for ourselves. Those of us of a certain age recall having three main channels. We shared a common world.
So, even when we remove the news and commentary we still have separate worlds made up of our individual entertainment choices. That’s the world we’ve created. I only notice it when it’s not my own. It makes you wonder what we are doing to ourselves.”

Because It Worked So Damn Well Last Time

Donald Trump, who claimed to have a beautiful distribution system for the vaccine, has now decided to leave it up to the states, because it’ll be so damn much fun watching the states fight over it.

The Trump administration is shunting to the states hard decisions about which Americans will get the limited early supplies of coronavirus vaccines — setting up a confusing patchwork of distribution plans that could create unequal access to the life-saving shots.

Federal and state officials agree that the nation’s 21 million health care workers should be first in line. But there is no consensus about how to balance the needs of other high-risk groups, including the 53 million adults aged 65 or older, 87 million essential workers and more than100 million people with medical conditions that increase their vulnerability to the virus.

Or, you know, major campaign donors. The state house members and their families.  I cannot even imagine the goat rodeo this is going to be in Texas.

I don’t understand why you wouldn’t appoint an Army general to head this up — not Flynn, but an actual ground forces general.  Those guys know how to get things done in any mass operation.  This is what they do.

January 20th can’t get here fast enough.
