Rick Perry, Meet Bus

October 05, 2019 By: El Jefe Category: Corruption, Treason (Yes, We're Going There), Trump

In a conference call with House Republicans yesterday, Trump characteristically reasserted he’s been “perfect” in all things Ukraine, but then threw Rick Perry, of all Trumpists, under the bus saying that the Zelensky call was HIS idea.  Nevermind that all of the text messages between State Department diplomats about the call and the extortion of Zelensky all point to Rudy Giuliani, Perry is apparently the next victim to be thrown under the Trump bus.  Surely, I’m not the only one to figure out that Perry was set up as the patsy to protect Giuliani, who set the whole thing up.  In May, Mike Pence suddenly couldn’t go to Zelensky’s inauguration, so Perry was tapped to represent the US government for the event.  There was no plausible explanation for this move and no one had tagged Perry with having to do anything with the growing scandal until the last 48 hours, and it’s pretty apparent that Trump has pinned the whole thing on him even though there is zero evidence that Perry even knew what was going on.  Over the last couple of days, word has leaked out that he’ll be stepping down at the end of this year.  Now we know why, and I predict it will come a lot sooner than that.

This is classic gangland style character assassination.  Don’t get me wrong – Rick Perry is a dumbass and a shameless suck up, and he deserves everything he’s going to get here.  He hitched his wagon to Trump, the Reverse King Midas; everything he touches dies, and now it’s Rick Perry’s career.

  1. Maybe he’ll have a few things to say to Congress after he removes the tire tracks.

  2. Do you know who I am? I’m Moe Greene. I made my bones while you were going out with cheerleaders.

Sorry EJ, just tuning the allegory for you,

History repeats! Thomas Nast’s cartoon from over a century ago perhaps “said it best” – – showing Boss Tweed and his gang of thugs, in a circle, pointing the finger at the next guy in line. Here’s a link to view the ‘toon for yourself, in case you’ve a mind to…

It couldn’t have been Rick Perry’s idea.

    Rick Perry doesn’t have ideas.

  6. One thing the White House is right about is that a coup is underway planned and implemented by the thuglicans.
First seize control of legislative branch by illegal gerrymandering, voter suppression and targeted restrictions on voter registrations.
Next use that leverage to block and obstruct the judiciary until they can, with illegal foreign aid, complicit media and oligarchs -foreign and domestic- they can place their own president in office irregardless of election results then seize the judiciary by railroading incompetent ideological hacks onto the courts benches to protect the crime of the thuglican executive branch.
With the ignorant assistance of “instititionalists” such as comey and muellar they are rewriting the constitution to further entrench their power.
So yes a coup is underway but no one has paid any attention to it.
They have irrevocably damaged our system of government to the point that to salvage it actions that would have historically been seen as constitutionally dangerous ( i.e. destroying filibuster, “packing” the court with new positions etc) are to only way left to attempt to reclaim the country but in doing so it “legitimizes” the illegal and improper actions of the thuglican coup.
Much like an violent aggressor “legitimizes” violence by pacifists for self defense( pacifist Oxford Students from before WW II standing to defend England during war)
So yes a coup is underway from the bench, the senate and the wh in an attempt to destroy this country.

With or without evidence, in general I believe that’s always a safe bet.

  8. Holy smokes. I need that scorecard even more now……..my head’s spinning from the twists in this nonsense.

  9. Well, well, when the other trumpists GOP figure out they could be next, we can only wonder when they, too, will run for the fire exits.

  10. Slipstream, you beat me to it.
Rick, in addition, you could apply that statement to any topic of conversation with governor good hair.

    10
  11. Rick:
Although after further reflection, I said pretty much the same thing you did, just not as well.

    11
  12. As well as you did.
    Shutting up now

Perry getting drug in the mud delights me. His appointee fired me unjustly. So I hate his phony ass and the idiot who fired me. He is not smart enough to coordinate an international conspiracy. Anything N of the Panhandle is foreign to him anyway. Looks like Giulliani isn’t much smarter than Perry either.

    14
  15. Brad in Dalllas says:

Perry is probably still walking around the Dept. Of Energy trying to find the Oil and Gas Bureau.

    15
  16. “Rick Perry doesn’t have ideas.”

first, he’d have to have a functioning brain cell. an empty suit has more substance.

    16
  17. By a certain measurement, hasn’t Perry been the quietest member of the entire Cabinet? Maybe tRump thought he was already dead.

    17
  18. “He hitched his wagon to Trump, the Reverse King Midas; everything he touches dies, and now it’s Rick Perry’s career.”

Dude, Perry peaked in high school. The last 45 years have been nothing more than a slow motion slide down a shallow ramp back to the bottom.

  19. Jane & PKM says:

Mr. Phillips@18, pRick is akin to the ‘professional’ who practices for years, but never becomes certified; just certifiable. pRick’s craft has been the pratfall. This could be his pratfall peak or not. Never underestimate his clownish ability to one up himself in the swamp of st00pid.

    PKM@19, I accept your addendum.

  22. GovGoodhair is 70 or close to it. Yes he has an excellent hair dye job. How much more of a career could he possibly have left before he falls off the twig?
