Angry voter confronts Republican senator over supporting Trump amid Ukraine scandal:
Ernst’s political challenges were illustrated this week at a townhall event in Templeton, Iowa, when she was confronted by an angry voter, Amy Haskins, who was clearly outraged over the Ukraine scandal.
‘You still stand there silent, and your silence is supporting him.”
Ernst has yet to call Trump out over the reason why he is facing an impeachment inquiry in the U.S. House of Representatives
Haskins demanded to know, “Where is the line? When are you guys going to say, ‘Enough’ and stand up and say, ‘You know what, I’m not backing any of this?’…. You still stand there silent, and your silence is supporting him.”
Haskins’ comment inspired a round of applause at the town hall. And the Iowa resident continued, “You didn’t pledge an oath to the president. You pledged it to our country. You pledged it to our Constitution.”
Ernst gave Haskins a vague answer, responding, “I can say, ‘Yay, nay,’ whatever — the president is going to say what the president is going to do. It’s up to us as members of Congress to continue working with our allies, making sure that we remain strong in the face of adversity.”
Haskins responded, “I beg your pardon, but all of our allies, he is pushing aside. He’s making fun of them on Twitter.” And Haskins described Ernst’s response as a “non-answer answer.”

4Hey David I’ve been a subscriber of the WaPo for years. Where did you find this juicy tidbit that I never saw? As for Schiff, anybody that can make the Golden Gibbon sweat orange is an OK guy! What is happening here is karma for the way he treated Obama (the African birth thing) and Hillary (the outright sexism) and of course the way he has let down everyone he campaigned “for” – like the farmers and the ordinary working guy in the auto plant, etc. etc.
5There are a lot of things that I want to do in D.C. before I sell the house and move away but somehow the town I once thought so attractive just ain’t there any more, ya know? I am somewhat heartened by the sign holder. Hopefully, by this coming national election, D.C. will once again belong to the people of this country. And frankly, this impeachment should really also cover Pence, Steve Miller, Barr, Pompeo, Sarah Sanders, Kellyanne Conroy, etc. etc. etc. All the henchmen and women that propped up the American Mussolini.
