On Thursday, a known leader of a white nationalist group in Florida announced to an Anti-Defamation League researcher that the Parkland shooter was a member of his group, Republic of Florida.  The news spread quickly, including me on these pages.  Yesterday, the Broward County sheriff said that they have found no evidence of his involvement in the group.  Apparently, the leader of ROP is known for wanting attention and walked back his declaration the day after.

The reaction was as you would expect – right wingers came out of the woodwork, including here, accusing the press (and me) of spreading false narratives about shooters and how inept (or evil) we are.  And then, the shooter’s digital profile began emerging…”I hate Jews, Ni**ers, Immigrants,” he posted on a YouTube thread call “Murica”.  He was obsessed with race, violence, guns, and school shootings. His Instagram feed was full of racist and hateful posts.  On another YouTube thread, he posted, “I’m going to become a professional school shooter.”  This is the comment that was reported to the FBI, which it ignored.  Here’s a nice pic on his Instagram feed wearing his Trump campaign hat.

So, is the shooter a white supremacist? Certainly.  Was he a member of the ROF? We don’t know that yet.

The Mueller indicts 13 Russians for interfering in the 2018 election.  The indictments say that Russian defendants’ operations were “supporting the presidential campaign of them-candidate Donald J. Trump.”

A leader of a white nationalist group, Republic of Florida, has admitted that the Florida high school shooter, who will remain unnamed on this page, is a member and has trained with them. At what point are we going to stop chasing Muslim boogey men and building walls against brown people coming from Mexico, and focus on the ACTUAL threat of homegrown violent white supremacists and gun nuts?

Rumor has it that Stormy Daniels has a Monica Lewinsky dress.

And she’s having it tested.

You know, part of me doesn’t want this to be true, but another part – oh please, let it be true.

If it is true, it is a strong reminder that this country has truly fallen permanently to the Ken Starr depraved mentality that sex matters more than anything else.  (Remember Starr got tossed out as President of Baylor University for knowingly allowing the rape of coeds and doing nothing about it. The man is just a sex pervert.)

On the other hand, if it is true, my neighbor across the street can quit with the damn Clinton/cigar jokes. They really are getting old.

If it’s not true, at least it’s fun to think about Trump wondering if she does.

It’s sad to think that sex would bother Trump supporters more than lying, treason, colluding with the enemy and paying off all your friends with government jobs and contracts.

Trump just appointed his top science advisor.

Michael Kratsios is now the de facto head of the Office of Science and Technology Policy.  He’s 31 years old, but at least he has a degree in science – political science, with an emphasis on Hellenic studies.

The Scientific American lets their feelings known about still not having anyone named to be head of Science and Technology Policy.

And it’s unlikely to change soon, observers say, leaving President Trump without a science adviser as the administration wrestles with a severe outbreak of the flu, lead-poisoned drinking water and record-breaking disasters that many scientists say are sharpened by rising temperatures.

But, instead we get Michael Kratsios, who is damn proud of his work with Steve Forbes and claims to have “a passion for technology, politics, Greece, and travel.”  Yeah, but what can you tell me about physics or biology?

Remember how all the “left over” inaugural money – more than twice what President Obama spent in 2009 – was going to charity?

Well, not so much.

Of the money, almost half of it was split between two firms, one of which was a firm started by an advisor to Melania Trump, that received $26 million.

One of the companies, WIS Media Partners of Marina del Rey, California, was created by a longtime friend of Mrs. Trump, Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, according to a person familiar with the firm. Records show that the firm was created in December 2016, but otherwise there is very little information available about it.

Hey, little buddy, $26 million ain’t bad for less than two months.

Other fun stuff – the concert on the National Mall featuring performances by the country music star Toby Keith and the rock band Three Doors Down cost $25 million.

Security costs “are upward towards $100 million” but luckily for Trump, taxpayers will pay for that.  Maybe next time we can be the charity.
