School Shooter a White Supremacist?

February 17, 2018 By: El Jefe Category: Fun With Guns

On Thursday, a known leader of a white nationalist group in Florida announced to an Anti-Defamation League researcher that the Parkland shooter was a member of his group, Republic of Florida.  The news spread quickly, including me on these pages.  Yesterday, the Broward County sheriff said that they have found no evidence of his involvement in the group.  Apparently, the leader of ROP is known for wanting attention and walked back his declaration the day after.

The reaction was as you would expect – right wingers came out of the woodwork, including here, accusing the press (and me) of spreading false narratives about shooters and how inept (or evil) we are.  And then, the shooter’s digital profile began emerging…”I hate Jews, Ni**ers, Immigrants,” he posted on a YouTube thread call “Murica”.  He was obsessed with race, violence, guns, and school shootings. His Instagram feed was full of racist and hateful posts.  On another YouTube thread, he posted, “I’m going to become a professional school shooter.”  This is the comment that was reported to the FBI, which it ignored.  Here’s a nice pic on his Instagram feed wearing his Trump campaign hat.

So, is the shooter a white supremacist? Certainly.  Was he a member of the ROF? We don’t know that yet.

  1. What what? says:

I read the tip was ignored because the call center that received it didn’t pass it on.

  2. Didn’t pass on the message, eh? Remind you of Pearl Harbor?

As for the ROF, historically there once was a Republic of Florida, a piece of land starting in Florida and stretching clear across into what is now Louisiana. As time wore on, this piece shrank into its present location as the panhandle of Florida. This blew me away when I discovered it in a little Louisiana town historical museum.

  3. How many more are out there that are just like this shooter?…smh

People that would stand on a pile of dead children to try and get rid of Wray just to please Trump have lost the right to call themselves human; they are just slugs.

  5. Not passing on messages also brings to mind 12 year old Tamar Rice, who was playing in the park with a toy gun, and was instantly blown away by the police the second they emerged from the car. The call center then also neglected to mention that the caller who reported it said they thought it might be a toy gun. The cop got fired and nothing more for this kid’s death.

Of course, another question…were the call centers negligent in cases like these or is that just an excuse after the fact.

  6. Robert McClellan:

People that would support the NRA and accept money for their political campaigns from them, have the blood of innocent people on their hands.

Our leaders need to be forced to see the bodies of the dead in the county morgues and attend the funerals. I want to hear them stand in person and tell the families/ the survivors “you have our thoughts and prayers. This was very sad.”

Will they answer their questions? Why an 18 yr old, who can’t yet smoke or drink, is able buy an assault rifle? Or why anyone, other than actie (spell check screwing up) military should own one?

I really hope the 18 yr old oters, ote these ile, greedy, heartless people out of office. (Please insert the letter)

  7. I have come to the conclusion that the main arm of domestic terrorism is the NRA followed by their lapdogs in the senate and congress. The NRA provides funding and cover for these right wing lunatics. It’s very effective to buy a government so gun manufacturers make $$$$$$$$, idiots can keep their arsenals and to hell with the peace loving part of the populace. No one cares about our life, liberty and pursuit of happiness.

  8. I believe there is an automatic denial of responsibility clause in any gun totin’ armed right wing organization when one of their members or affiliated members becomes described as “bad guy with gun.”

They are all still “good guys with guns” and would have stopped “bad guy” had they been at the right place at the right time with almost no restrictions on their ability to purchase, own, and carry weapons.

  9. From afar, we look like a nation that has adopted as political public policy a type of population control involving mass shootings to keep the census in control. Seriously!

The funerals are still going on, and Paul Ryan saw no reason to cancel a fundraiser this weekend in Florida. What more do you need to know?

  11. Excellent post, the ROF guy is clearly a self aggrandizing but case. Having said that, the kid / young adult is also clearly a Trump following, white supremacist, murderer. Having said that I appreciate you setting the record straight, we have to be 10x better than the idiots, fortunately that’s doable.

Lest we forget: good ol’ boy Jeff Sessions – right out of the gate when he arrived to the DOJ – shut down the entire division in the FBI that investigated domestic terrorists, white supremacists, militia patriots, Nazis, etc. If someone sent a tattle tale tip about the shiny new blossoming domestic terrorist to the FBI – it – at behest of Sessions’ edict – the FBI is under orders to ignore it.

Also: It’s been reported that FLA police responded nearly 40 times to that kids home for his aberrant behavior, shooting guns and killing animals…the police did nothing. After all, it is Florida…the we’ll arm anyone who’s a blood lusting Psychopaths R Us Club member. Ask George Zimmerman who stood his ground against a bag of Skittles.

Bonus round: on page 719 of Trump’s 2019 Federal Budget it cuts $12 million from the programs that report criminals and domestic violence predators to the database for gun background checks. He’s not a “protect America” kind of guy.

to Buttermilk Sky: as the chalk outlines were being drawn around the slaughtered innocents in Florida…a Kansas candidate issued his advert for an AR15 assault rifle raffle. In Arizona, during the slaughter being reported on local news, one of their candidates shiny new ads of her shooting an assault rifle was aired. The public was revolted and made themselves heard.

To everyone: in Michigan a woman sent a check to Repub Rep Jack Bergman. Where the dollar amounts are written she wrote “thoughts and prayers”. I plan on doing the same.

And: A big dollar GOP donor went on a tirade and stated he’s refusing to send anymore $ to the RNC and GOP until they enact gun control legislation. He also stated he’s going to advocate for his wealthy friends to withhold their filthy lucre as well.
