Beto!

October 02, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

I thought y’all might enjoy this New York Times take on Beto.

Besides the money you donated going to 17 counties in Texas for the over age 65 ballot by mail program, money you donated is going to block walking for Beto and our local candidates.  We have hit almost 5,000 houses.  It also went for 50 big Beto signs for Fort Bend County and a mailer to register progressive people who have moved into the county but have not changed their voter registration.  That’s had a great return and gave us about 3,000 new voters so far.

If I’m not here, it’s because I am working!

Thanks, guys.

George Will on Official Excuses Tour

October 02, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

As it becomes increasingly obvious that Brett Kavanaugh lied many, many times during his testimony, George Will has found the lying under oath loophole.

Talking about Kavanaugh’s rant in his opening statement, Will justifies it by contending …

“Put yourself in his shoes,” Will replied. “He’s exhausted after weeks of this. He’s under tremendous bombardment. He loses his temper and people say, ‘Ah-ha!’ — the very people who have been bombarding him with these accusations… they say he lacks the judicial temperament.”

And Will even treads heavily on lying about the Devil’s Triangle.

“If he looked the Senate in the eye and said, what does a devil’s triangle mean and said, it’s a drinking game and that’s clearly known to be not true — and about two minutes on Google will tell you otherwise — then it’s the thin end of an enormous wedge,” Will observed. “Because then, the presumption shifts that if you lie about ‘A’ that’s small, might you lie about ‘B’, ‘C’ and ‘D’ that are large?”

So now we have to measure lies?  How many little lies are allowed, I wonder?

Does the lie of not hearing about Deborah Ramirez’s complaint until the Vanity Fair article count as a big lie or a whopper?  Or was it a justifiable lie because the senators were being mean to him?

Let’s see, Hillary Clinton was accused of murder who went through an 11 session with congress and never lost her temper to the bombardment nor lied in any way.

Damn, Republicans have short memories.

They are also a bunch of damn snowflakes.

Here’s What Happens When Baptist Gather

October 02, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

I suspect that most of you heard about the football team scandal at Baylor University, a school associated with the Baptist church, in Waco.  It seems that some of the black players were raping and sexually assaulting female students at Baylor, but no one would listen to them and/or the administration covered it up.

The president of Baylor at the time this was happening was Ken Starr, yes, the same Ken Starr who was overly-interested in the details of Bill Clinton’s sex life.  After being accused of turning a blind eye, Starr resigned.

Breaking news is this story.

News 10 has learned Baylor University officials are investigating allegations the former Chairman of the Baylor Board of Regents made racial slurs against Baylor’s black football players and inappropriate sexual remarks about female students at the university.

Two people have come forward to say the heard former Baylor Regent Richard Willis make some … distasteful comments while all the raping and assaulting was going on at Baylor.

“The Chairman had referred to some portion of the Baylor football team using the “n” word,” said Ker.

“Willis made comment to the effect ‘the reason Baylor has such highly qualified (black) football players is because Baylor has the best blonde haired, blue-eyed…’ and he used a very bad term relating to the young girls at Baylor.”

This has come up in lawsuit filed by the women who were victimized at Baylor.

Willis denied he ever made those comments …

“Rev. Ramiro Pena, Pastor of Christ the King Baptist Church, was with me the entire evening. He stated under oath in a deposition that he never heard me make these despicable comments on the evening in question or at any other time,” Willis writes.

Yeah, and Baptists don’t see each other coming out of the liquor store, either.

One of the women’s lawyer says there’s a tape.  Honestly, I don’t doubt it.

Way to go, Baptists.  Hey, no more tsk-tsking for the rest of y’alls damn life.

Because There’s Enough Hate To Go Around

October 02, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Because the fellas at the Trump White House just cannot be mean enough to people who are not white, male, heterosexuals, or raging alcoholics who want to be on the Supreme Court, they have a new policy.

The Trump administration on Monday began denying visas to same-sex domestic partners of foreign diplomats and United Nations employees, and requiring those already in the United States to get married by the end of the year or leave the country.

Most of these diplomats and employees come from countries where same sex marriage is illegal, so they would be arrested when they return home.

See, that’s just mean for no damn good reason.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Just a heads up. but somebody is keeping count of the Kavanaugh lies.  It’s ups to 29 now, but hell, it’s early in the day.

Sometimes You Just Need to Smile

October 02, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

The NRA’s political arm is kinda broken.  This political season they have spent only 10% of what they spent in 2014 to bolster their political minions.

Why?

The National Rifle Association’s political spending is sharply down heading into the 2018 midterm elections, a shift that could reflect declining fundraising in the wake of a string of mass shootings and an FBI investigation into the group’s Russia ties.

Plus, they are operating at a deficit.

Music to your ears?

It’s amazing what happened to the NRA when you interrupt their Russian funding.
