This is a Test

January 05, 2019 By: El Jefe

This is a test to see if you are a radical partisan:

If you believe this video made in college of a now member of Congress dancing to a show tune is offensive and highly inappropriate,

And this picture of the “elegant and sophisticated” now First Lady doesn’t concern you in the slightest,

Then you are a radical partisan to whom truth means nothing.

YOu’re welcome.

The War of Words

January 05, 2019 By: El Jefe

One of our readers suggested this piece in the Washington Post yesterday, and it’s a good one. Entitled What’s so wrong with motherf—er?, writer Molly Roberts points out the silliness of the Republicans’ outrage over freshman member of Congress Rashida Tlaib’s use of the word during remarks at a private celebration the evening of her swearing in.  I don’t know if Tlaib is involved, but a movement started very early on in Trump’s term called ITMFA, or Impeach the MotherF—er Already, has nationally grown in strength as he has assaulted everything that is decent about our country.  The organization’s logo is this, and seen regularly at gatherings of progressives and never-Trumpers:

When the video of Tlaib surfaced yesterday, the rightwing noise machine went into Full Snowflake, suddenly regaining its sense of hearing after years of total deafness to Trump’s continuous stream of childish insults and profanity.  Not only were they shocked, shocked, I tell you over the notion of even mentioning the word impeachment, they were really shocked that Tlaib would use the word mother—er to describe him.  Many Americans, including me, regularly use this descriptor for Trump.

When I heard serial liar Kevin McCarthy feigning insult over the incident yesterday, I actually burst out laughing.  Being one of the leading Invertebrates in Congress who have dismissed concerns over Trump’s actual conduct, it’s hilarious that now he’s worried about decorum.  Here’s my position of this issue – First, anyone who still supports His Orangeness has forfeited any right to be insulted by profanity and lack of decorum for life. Second, the Dems need to stop worrying about motivating his base of angry, old white people.  They can’t get any more angry since they are teeth gnashing, drooling, pissed off 24/7 fed a red meat diet of Fox Noise bullshit in a continuous stream.  Third, I agree with Roberts that suburban middle of the roaders are not going to base their votes on some bad word uttered by a freshman Dem at a private event, but on Trump’s actual record of ripping children from their parents and caging them in “tender age” detention facilities.  It insults the intelligence of those suburbanites for Dems to be so fearful of backlash over an insult that doesn’t even approach Trump’s egregious and illegal behavior.

Lastly,  I also agree with this:

“‘Motherf—er,’ in short, is about civility. ‘Shithole countries’ is about character. Democrats who conflate the two weaken themselves. They minimize the abuses of the Trump administration, and they invite the president to go on committing them without expecting anything more than an anemic reprimand. Democrats, he understands, won’t ever really fight back.”

It’s long past time to start fighting back, Dems.  The real snowflakes are on the OTHER side.

Kevin McCarthy Needs To Go To His Safe Place and Not Be Offended

January 04, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Kevin McCarthy threw himself a walleyed snot nosed hissy damn fit today because a female Democratic Congresswoman used a foul word.

He was outraged, outraged I tell you, that a member of congress would cuss because Republicans would never do that because they are so much more polite and kind than Democrats.

So a member of the press asked:

“Leader McCarthy, with all due respect though, the president not too long ago referred to a woman as ‘horseface,’” Durkin said, referring to a tweet Trump posted in October slamming Stormy Daniels, a woman who claims she had an affair with him and was paid to remain silent about it. “Who within your caucus called out the president for that type of language?”

McCarthy, without citing any examples, responded by saying, “I think a lot of them did.” He then walked off before reporters could ask him any follow-ups.

Oh really, McCarthy?  Can you give us a copy of what you said?

I think he saw some people coming up with all the foul language Trump has used.

Republicans don’t use foul language.  They just starve children, take grandma off medical care, and call that God’s will.

Kevin McCarthy needs to find his safe place where little snowflakes can survive without being insulted.

Totally Stolen from Deb T

January 04, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Our friend Deb T sent me this early this morning.

While we are at it, I honestly can’t think of a Sci-fi/fantasy stories in which a giant wall is effective at holding back a threat:

– Game of Thrones

– Attack on Titan

– The Passage

– Zone One

– King Kong

Heck even fences don’t work – Jurassic Park(s)

Stories in which a wall proves to be totally effective?

Humpty Dumpty.

Yeah, it’ll be kinda fun to see Trump fall off his wall.

Damn. I Didn’t Get To See The Door Hit Him In The Butt.

January 04, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Trey Gowdy leaving congress with nothing on Hillary Clinton and still unable to spell Benghazi.

I think he lost a bet and had to wear somebody else’s clothes.  Like maybe Clarence the Birthday Party Clown.

No, seriously, for what the Benghazi hearings cost, we paid for and deserved to watch the door hit him in the butt.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Trump Finally Got His Wall, and Her Name is Nancy

January 04, 2019 By: El Jefe

As we all know, Trump painted himself into a corner two weeks ago, driving a stake in the ground over his stupid wall notion after being excoriated by RWNJs Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh for caving.  He promised a wall to his mouth breathers, and, By God, he’s going to deliver.  Nevermind that he also stupidly promised that Mexico was going to pay for it.  While normal people laughed at such a ridiculous assertion, his base lapped it up, and now we find ourselves as Americans being held hostage for one of the most ridiculous self-inflicted crises in US history.

The irony, though, is that Trump did get his wall yesterday, and its name is Nancy Pelosi.  Last November, after playing to his xenophobic base, he got trounced and lost 40 congressional seats, even in safely gerrymandered districts.  These 40 new members were sworn in yesterday, and Pelosi started doing what she’s so good at – governing with an iron hand in a velvet glove.  When she gets finished with Trump he won’t understand what hit him, and won’t even see it until after he’s been run over by her.

Trump’s hastily called non-press conference press conference during the swearing in ceremony yesterday was evidence that he’s unhappy that the attention had shifted from himself and that he’s clearly rattled as the ground under his feet has shifted against him.  His baffling 8 minute nationally televised ramble was the first “press conference” of the year for him, and more amazing, the FIRST TIME he’s ever set foot in the WH briefing room.  That’s correct – Trump’s been president for two years, and has NEVER been to the press room until yesterday.

Trump has recklessly careened head on into the wall named Nancy, and he’s going to learn just how hard and high she is.  We all know that his time in the WH won’t end well, and we’ll soon learn how Pelosi is going to help him along to his final downfall.
