The One Word

August 13, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

The Washington Post this morning knows the one word that Trump hates, hates, hates.

Trump recently called himself “the least racist person anywhere in the world,” but his history is littered with racist and racially charged comments and actions.

He hates being called a racist simply because there is so much evidence that he is.

Watching him wiggle out of it is a hoot.

“Democrats seem to forget that Trump supporters include blacks, whites, Hispanics and other minority groups who simply love this country,” Mercedes Schlapp, a Trump campaign adviser, said in a text message. “Democrats have shown their absolute disdain for the president and now they have extended their disdain to half of America.”

Well, Honey, if you want to get technical about it, it’s less than half.  And, outside of Ben Carson, Diamond and Silk, and that one guy at all Trump’s rallies, exactly 2% of African American support him.

And even Evangelical are a tad pissed off.  Not because he’s racist, or mean, or dividing America, or worshiping money, or putting children in cages, or robbing social security, or any of those things, but …

They are mad because he used the Lord’s name in vain, which means he broke the last of the ten commandments.

Turning Texas Blue

August 12, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

The last major hold on Texas flipping is Tarrant County. Think Fort Worth.  Think Dallas without the culture, pleasing architecture, and JR Ewing.

Every other large Texas county has flipped.  Two years ago, Beto got more votes in Tarrant county than Ted Cruz. So, Republicans in Tarrant County have taken to the mattresses and got their game plan in order to keep Tarrant County red.

And here it is.

“We need Republicans who are calling for the deportation of all illegals, the DACA babies, the anchor babies, & more,” continued the July post that pointed at a recent Tarrant County vote to let sheriff’s deputies continue working as ICE agents. “We must allow AND give cover to those with more extreme views on the right wing of the party.”

The post calls for supporting an “American Nationalist party.”

The Fort Worth Star Telegram covered the story and didn’t get much push-back from “mainstream” Republicans.

“Let’s finish what Trump started and capitalize on the yearning for an American Nationalist party and put these Bolsheviks in their place,” it stated. “We must look to the future and not just offer criticisms, but offer the American people a strong vision of sanity for our increasingly insane country.”

Bolsheviks?  They’re calling us Russians? That’s fun.

I do like how they changed the name to American Nationalists instead of the preferred nomenclature White Nationalists.

Thanks to Randall for the heads up.

Beto

From the Houston Chronicle.

So Beto, if you’re listening: Come home. Drop out of the race for president and come back to Texas to run for senator. The chances of winning the race you’re in now are vanishingly small. And Texas needs you.

We just don’t have a strong candidate for Senate in Texas.  Beto powered-up can win Texas.

John Cornyn, Fully Trumped Up

August 12, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Well, Texas Senator John Cornyn just belched loudly after finishing his full glass of Trump juice.

John, dear, the “supposedly intelligent people” understand why Trump’s actions that day were over the fence of rational, human, and caring behavior.

If the family had asked Trump to come dance on the graves of that child’s parents, would Trump have merrily done that with photo ops?  Come to think of it, that’s pretty much what he’s doing in that picture, so, yeah, he’d probably do it, just so long he didn’t have to touch the kid in any way at all.

It is the job of a president to behave in an appropriate manner even when everybody around him is not doing so.

But now you have a picture of what John Cornyn thinks is appropriate behavior.  Remember that on election day. And remember that he’s drunk on Trump juice.

On Suicide Watch, Epstein Commits Suicide – Sure…

August 10, 2019 By: El Jefe

Jeffrey Epstein, being held for trial in a jail in Manhattan was found dead in his cell this morning.  Wait – what?  I thought he was on suicide watch.  At minimum, the guys doing the watching suck at their jobs.  At worst this is just plain old stink to high heaven fishy.  Part of Epstein’s record was released just yesterday revealing just how bad this guy was, even containing details of how young girls were recruited for him at Mara Lago.  Yes, THAT Mara Lago.

It’s not unreasonable to believe that this was an, uhm…”assisted suicide” to get rid of him before the sordid details of his and Trump’s relationship spilled out all over the floor during his trial.  Based on Trump’s 40 year reputation for loving young girls, it’s not a stretch to imagine Trump being right in the middle of Epstein’s activities.

Is this just another flare up in the Trumpster Fire that is the current infestation of the White House, or will this one matter?  I’m not holding my breath.

Meet My Neighbor

August 09, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

I want you to meet my neighbor, Thomas Bartram. He’s 21 years old and doesn’t have near enough to do with his time.  He lives with his father in Greatwood, an upper middle class community about 2 miles from my house.

He has harassed at least two of my friends  at vigils and another one in a parking lot because of her bumper sticker. His pickup has a large banner portraying Donald Trump as Rambo, a Ted Cruz sign and bumper stickers for the far-right conspiracy website InfoWars.  I’ve seen the pickup. You can’t miss it.

An armed Trump supporter was detained and released by police Wednesday outside a community space for immigrants in El Paso, Texas, days after a mass shooting that killed 22 people at a Walmart in the border town.

Witnesses said they called police after Thomas Bartram, 21, made threatening comments to people and brandished a knife while sitting in his truck outside of community center Casa Carmelita.

He had a gun, a knife, a bag of white powder, and was wearing latex gloves.

Police detained him and then released him because it was determined that no criminal offense had been committed.

Seriously.

Reached by phone, Bartram said he often went to Trump rallies, but said he tried to be respectful of the high tensions in El Paso following the shootings—though he said he could not rule out the possibility that the massacre had been a “false flag” perpetrated by the government.

Bartram acknowledged he was legally carrying a pistol but denied waving it around, and said the gloves and knife could be explained. “I was eating prickly pears,” he said. The white powder was a protein supplement Bartram said he takes along with other Alex Jones’ branded nutritional supplements.

Witnesses at the community center said that people at the community center are still “terrified” and “frustrated.”  They added that “El Paso police officers were confrontational with the witnesses and eventually told them Bartram hadn’t broken any laws.”

Last anybody heard, he was headed to Portland for a rally there.

Bartram’s brother, Alex Bartram, 27, told NBC News in a phone interview that his brother had gone to El Paso with a group of Trump supporters he had been hanging out with lately.

“He’s not a violent person,” Alex Bartram said.

I ain’t turning my back on him, that’s for sure.
