ABC and CNN are reporting that Trump’s entire legal team walked yesterday leaving him unrepresented in his impeachment trial in the Senate.  The reason?  It’s probably obvious, but it’s also being reported that Trump is clinging to the “election was rigged” lie to justify inciting insurrection, and the lawyers, led by Lindsey Graham pal Butch Bowers, were having none of it.  Their strategy was to argue the constitutionality of the impeachment charge of a former president, but Trump still thinks he can overturn the world by repeating one gigantic lie after another.  Without social media to repeat the lie, he’s just another criminal awaiting trial.

You know he hates that, and that’s a good thing.

Poor Ted Cruz, everybody’s always picking on him.   Now they’ve found he’s buying copies of his worst-selling book and paying for it from his campaign account.  Wanna know what’s not allowed?  Hummm … buying your book from money in your campaign account, thereby enriching yourself.

I gotta admit something, when I first saw this, I thought Ted was paying people to read his book.  Honey, it’s that bad.

In our effort to make sure no one forgets the violence incited by Donald Trump and encouraged by traitorous shitbags like Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Marjorie Taylor Greene, Paul Gosar, Lauren Boebert, Mo Brooks, and Andy Biggs (along with others) we will continue to talk about the Qanon Caucus and dangerous rightwing extremists who continue to threaten our democracy.  The NYTimes posted videos today that were presented in court yesterday where more charges were leveled at violent insurrectionists on January 6.  The article and videos can be seen here.  These videos are disturbing where a woman, Rosanne Boyland, was trampled to death in the crush at the West Entrance to the Capitol where major violence occurred.  Now, let’s be frank, here.  She was a protestor, who illegally charged the Capitol with other insurrectionists on that day.  Ironically, she was carrying a “Don’t Tread On Me” flag when she was trampled by the mob she was supporting.  Even though she was breaking the law and threatening Capitol Police, her friend’s cries for help for her are tragic.

We can never forget that day, and we must continue to remind the public that many in Congress, including those from our own state, are complicit in this tragedy that forever will be a stain on our country.

When the Georgia Bar comes calling.

“The State Bar of Georgia told me today they would demand a mental health exam from me if I wanted to keep my law license,” Trump conspiracy lawyer L. Lin Wood posted. “My mind is sound.”

Honey, the only sound his mind knows are those voices he keeps hearing.

The Georgia State Bar thinks you’re nuts? You’re nuts. In case you haven’t noticed, they’ve got a real low bar on sanity in Georgia. You can ice skate right over that bar and never even wobble.

There was speculation that he’d run for the seat Rob Portman is vacating.

That was a close call.

If he was in the senate, he and Ted Cruz would have a Being a Dick Death Match that none of us want to see.

Remember Michele Bachmann?  Well, she’s still around. And not in a good way.

Last November, she went on a rightwing evangelical teevee show and proclaimed that she knew for a dead solid guaranteed fact who was going to overthrow the government —

“These are transgender Marxists — transgender Black Marxists — who are seeking the overthrow of the United States and the dissolution of the traditional family,” Bachmann said in the interview on The Victory Channel,

I think finding three hate words for what might on a good day comprise half a dozen people in America is a real special talent. And if you think about it, she wasn’t far from wrong. And by think about it, I mean believing that everybody at the January 6th insurrection was a transgender black Marxist.

And speaking of January 6th, Bachmann says she was at the White House that very day,

“We had our hands raised. We were worshipping the Lord on the South Lawn of the White House,” she said. “Before too long, the mob started. … All of a sudden, I sense the Holy Spirit just speaking to me. The Holy Spirit spoke to me and said, ‘It’s time to leave.'”

No, No, Honey. If that was the Holy Spirit, it would have told you to leave four years ago.

Anyway, the reason all this came up for me is that Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen gave me Michele’s FEC report. She is sitting on $1.6 million in her account.  She, did, however, spend some of it.

The Minnesota Voters Alliance seems to spend most of their time keeping people from voting.

The Leyden Preservation Group protects and serves old statues so there’s got to be some Civil War crap in there.

The Justice League of America is comic books and cartoons.  GiveSendGo, who got the money, is a Christian Fundraising site.  And … they were raising money to investigate “voting irregularities in Minnesota’s 2020 election.”

The Child Protection League seems most concerned with “experimental vaccines”, racial quotas in schools, and critical race theory.

So, during the worst pandemic in our lifetime, Michele found a way to make charitable contributions amounting to less than $12,000 that helped nobody whatsoever.  Not one mouth was fed or one rent paid. Not one sick child got to see a doctor or one grandma got a vaccine.

She’s got $1.6 million and that’s what she does to help.
