Thanks to Jim Jordan For Saving Us From Dark Days

The Cleveland Plain Dealer announces this afternoon –

There was speculation that he’d run for the seat Rob Portman is vacating.

That was a close call.

If he was in the senate, he and Ted Cruz would have a Being a Dick Death Match that none of us want to see.

  1. I guess Jim decided not to throw his jacket into the ring.

Ba-da-bum, ching! Thank you, ladies and germs. I’ll be here all week.

  2. Steve from Beaverton says:

Maybe the Ohio repugnantican party has an even crazier person to run. Maybe some Q nut which seems the trend.

wonder who explained that his winning record in his own district did not necessarily indicate success in a statewide race (again).

Or perhaps he had someone explain the difference between being the Ranking Member on the House Committee on Oversight and Reform versus the life of a freshman Senator.

One out … two others have declined already — Kasich & Tressel. Which leaves a broad set of others, ranging from nearly Jordan-esque Trumpies to some who had been allies of Kasich.

  4. I don’t Gymbo wanted to endure the wider scrutiny of his shower room voyeuristic indulgences would bring with a senate run.

  5. As an Ohioan I’d like to thank the fates and anyone who whispered in Jordan’s ear that his sojourn at Ohio State wrestling would probably come up again.

Sadly, he might have won. Our progressive senator Brown is always paired with a right winger no matter how much some are getting delusional about Portman’s “moderate” politics.

  6. Sam in Superior says:

At least he’s not going into college sports medicine again.

  7. My lady showed me a Facebook post that deserves whatever the social media equivalent of a pulitzer is.
Unfortunately I’m unable to link it here.
It says “Decided to post my first dick pic. Am I doing it right?”
Right above an official portrait of ted cruz.

  8. Chloe Bear says:

Oh Ohio is filled with Rs worse than Jim Jordan. I am thinking former Ohio State Treasurer Josh Mandel will throw in his hat — awful excuse for a human being.
Former Congressman Jim Renacci just think of what word rhymes with his last name.
Congressman Bill Johnson, 66, represents southeastern part of Ohio and questioned Biden’s win.

You believe Jim Jordan? To say that I have doubts about his honesty would be an understatement for the ages.

  10. It amazes me to even lightly think that all these Repugnicans with dreams of eternal seats on Capitol Hill cannot think of the one amazing way the Dems will respond to their campaigns; that is, constantly re-running the video of the assault on Capitol Hill complete with sound track. And over-written on the screen “Do you seriously want more and more of THIS?????”

At least the military is trying to root out whoever among them was involved in that madness. The Repugs just don’t seem to be able to take a hint.

  11. Gym Jordan will not be as busy since he is no longer the swim coach at Ohio State U. and rumored procurer of young boys for A D!

    11
  12. If he’d run for Senate, more than a few real investigative reporters would have unearthed proof of him ignoring that the team doctor was molesting his players.

Good(??) news continues — current Representative and out-going Colorado GOP Chair Ken Buck has decided he will not challenge Senator Bennet in 2022. Instead, he says he will be proud to continue serving the people of his House district.

In some ways, it would be interesting to see Buck trying to run. He’s been in charge of the state party for 2 years, so he isn’t responsible for losing 4 state-wide executive office races or the majority in the state house. But during this cycle, “Though they mostly held their ground in legislative races, Democratic candidate Joe Biden won the largest presidential margin here in several decades and Republican U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner was easily defeated by Democratic challenger John Hickenlooper.”

So, we don’t know who will be jumping in…. there is a diminishing set of people sitting on the red bench in Colorado, and the momentum is clearly there for Team Blue.
