Fun With Guns: Clean The Gene Pool Edition

September 08, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Christen Reece, 23, was out drinking with his friends in Phoenix.  When the bars closed, he suggested they all go shoot guns.  On the side of the damn road.

Reece told his friends of the feature on his gun which had a double-safety making it impossible to ever go off unexpectedly, so he decided to demonstrate this for his buddies.

“He held the gun up to head, a little behind the temple area, and fired,” Molesa said of the Sept 2nd incident. “He immediately dropped to the ground, and his acquaintances started freaking out, not sure what to do.”

Reece’s friends are apparently part of the same brain trust as Reece.  They loaded his unconscious body into the car and took him to the fire station, where paramedics were on duty.

Then they ran.

Seriously, they ran off.

I guess they were afraid that Reece would wake up and want to test the safety device on them.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

  1. I am hurt beyond consolation that all that happened in Arizona. There are young Texas future Republicans in that brain trust as well.

  2. No gun is a safe device when there’s a moron around. Being drunk increases your odds of being a moron. Yet another safety rule that apparently nobody buying a gun needs to know.

See you can’t smite these people. They smite themselves. Sheesh.

Let’s go drinkin’ and then shoot off our guns! Fun, fun, fun! What could possibly go wrong?

  5. Worse than shooting yourownself in the head is friends dumping you and running off faster than an ICBM! Oh, well. That only shows that none of them needed each other anyway.

Or whatever the McLame/Failin campaign slogan was.

Ain’t no pool cleaning service that can keep up with those morans, not even full-fledged Darwin Award winners stepping up to the challenge (or falling down), like that jerk.

I sure wish that the NRA would go back to Gun Handling Safety classes.

What a waste of young lives.

  11. Even more than a mental health background check, anyone who shot themselves or anyone else “accidentally” should be disqualified from gun possession. Let’s make it simple. Anyone who has been in TWMDBS’s “Fun with Guns” section is o-u-t, out, out, out!

  12. Marge Wood says:

Yeah! Did he die? I don’t blame his friends for not wanting to find out if he’s dead or not. Guess who would get the blame.

  13. For those wondering if the DA winner died: dunno, but it’s likely; and likely that the weapon was a Glock semi-auto pistol, most of those are 9mm caliber.
Most 9mm rounds sold today are “expanding, razor-edged hollowpoints” (IE: designed to inflict max possible tissue damage).

Hmmm, just behind the temple, do the math.

I’d be surprised if there was much of the other side of his ol’ punkinhaid left, most of it was probably left on the floor/ground when his BFF’s loaded him up or split.

    13
  14. Forgot, the 9mm’s muzzle velocity (most modern loads are pretty stoked up) doesn’t hardly matter at less than ‘point blank’ range.

  15. Linda Phipps says:

“Did he die?” Even with half the brain shot out, he will function much as always. These good ol boys don’t have much use for brains except for the drinking and fornicating part.

  16. @Sandridge

With all due respect, you wildly overrate the deadliness of the caliber 9mm Parabellum round. While there are reports of deaths attributed to this round over the past 100 years or so, I have never been impressed by any of its incarnations, including the jacketed hollow point. Although at inches and aimed at a vital organ even pellet gun or a 9mm could be fatal.

If this fellow had been more interested in caliber than safety design and had he consulted with me prior to his demonstration I might have suggested a 12 gauge shotgun. Kurt Cobain used such. Although I’m not sure if Kurt gave a whit about shotgun safety design.

  19. Linda Phipps, Very true, in a macabre way.

Micr, yer talking like one of those old .45cal M1911A fanatics (hey, I like ’em too, but a very small 9mm Firestar is my fav CCW).
Seems like the Germans employed 9mm’s pretty devastatingly in two major wars (along with many other nations, many of their machine guns were 9mm too). I’ve seen first-hand the damage it does (shooting an occasional pest), not a BB gun for sure.
The (late) dumbass in question used the pistol because it was handy and he thought it idiotproof, whereas everybody knows a shotgun is always lethal.

gabberflasted, looks like a maximum of two…
