John is Back!

I’m sitting here rocking my grandbaby while he naps and watching the Kim Davis / Mike Huckabee Narcissism Rally.  Some dude took the microphone and said something like they don’t answer to the Supreme Court, they answer to God.

Yeah, just like Isis.

Matthew 22:21, you jerks.

ON EDIT: Oh Jesus Help Us, Ted Cruz is coming push Huckabee off the stage.  I hate that because Huckabee is trying to explain checks and balances, which he totally does not understand.  He’s using words like “judicial tyranny.”  He just said, “We will not surrender from the tyranny of one branch of government.”  Look, Bozo, let’s pretend that you could get the congress to support you.  Our side still has the presidency and the court.  That’s 2 to 1.  Go home, you’re drunk and stoopid.

Be social and share!

  1. Wyatt Earl says:

    Romans 13:1-7New International Version (NIV)
13 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience.
This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

  2. Corinne Sabo says:

Those apostates need to go back to Jesus’ words “Render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s and unto God what is God’s.”
Caesar is the government, with laws all officers swear to uphold.

The creature from the fauxknee kristian lagoon has been released from jail on the precept she does not interfere with Gats getting legal marriage licesnses. Of course she can’t abide by the judge’s rules.

Arguing that her religious freedom is being compromised, she has asked state officials to develop alternative ways for the licenses to be issued without requiring her to authorize them.

IMHO,the state can grant her wish to develop alternatives to her doing her job. There must be hundreds of abandoned mines in Kentucky where her mortal remains could just disappear and ever her gawd couldn’t find her.

  4. Lady (and I use the term loosely), just do your damned job or resign. The choice is simple. Maybe Hobby Lobby has an opening.

  5. To our Tea Party Friends and Family

Do you find it hard to know who is the higher power on different occasions:

    God?
    Constitution?
    Ten Commandments?
    Founding Fathers?
    Jesus?
The Holy Ghost? (for invisible situations like global warming)

Order now! The one, the only, Magic Ouiji 8 Ball! It provides you with the proper authority for any and all questions!

QUESTION: Who should Kim Davis answer to?
    ANSWER: Outlook Not So Good.

    5
  6. e platypus, she’s like the ants in our kitchen– I don’t want her dead, I just want her gone. On the other hand, if they won’t stay gone….

Her mother held that office before her, and her son is one of her assistants, presumably being groomed for his place in the dynasty. She just can’t conceive of quitting a job she refuses to do.

Let’s send her a list of all the OTHER stuff the Bible calls an abomination, so she can refuse to have anything to do with any of them too. She may have to end up living in an abandoned mine at that point.

    “80 Grand Trumps Her Stand”

If not for the awareness that wingnuts might bring back stoning or otherwise do something else st00pid, I’d recommend picketing her house with signs: “stone the hypocrite” or “stone the adulteress”

First the right wing killed satire, now it’s not even safe to say anything in jest.

    7
  8. “As part of her release, Bunning warned that Davis may not interfere with the duties of her deputy clerks.

Asked by reporters on Tuesday whether Davis will comply with this condition, Staver said only that she “cannot and will not violate her conscience.”

Translation: I got what I wanted. I am out of jail. But I am not going to comply with the condition that the Judge put upon my conditional release.

    Amazing.

  9. Don A in Pennsyltucky says:

What different passages from different religious creeds may say is immaterial. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;”

    9
  10. Does Huckabee understand anything about how the law works? After Kim Davis was released from jail, Huckabee had to get the last word in by offering to go to jail in her place. What does he think prison is, baseball? He can be the designated hitter? Maybe it’s like school and he’s a substitute teacher?

Thanks McCain! Ever since that beyond his expiration date Senator from AZ released the Wazilla Wendigo to perfect playing the victim, the lunatics have been stark raving mad with poutrage. Those ISIL and ISIS folks seem rather reasonable compared to the Xtian Taliban.

If we don’t do things their way, they’re being persecuted. Most pre-schoolers learn to share better and certainly don’t tantrum nearly as much.

  15. kimdavis and the other two recalcitrant clerks in kaintuck are merely sucking the public teat dry. Their employment is like the elec-teds in texas, florida and other states governed by the specious repubs with spacious crania. Violate the law; hire their buds to defend them; pay their buds with public funds; drain public coffers so welfare and environmental activities are not funded — fully or at all.

    15
  16. JAKvirginia says:

    This is from my alter-ego:

    Here’s the list-
    – 4 marriages
    – 3 divorces
    – adultery
    – giving birth to children not her husband’s
    – not performing the duties she swore to do
    – defying a court order

This is not about Kim Davis’ “deeply-held religious beliefs”. This is Kim Davis punishing someone else for her sins.

    BAM.

    16
  17. Probably favorite comment:

“She’s not Rosa Parks. She’s George Wallace.”

    17
  18. Somebody should tell Kimmie-po and folk like her that while it is (probably) true that the loving God of Christianity may forgive her, the lied to, cheated on, used and abused former spouses, not so much. In fact one or more of the former spouses might be plotting at this very moment how to hasten the meeting between her and her loving God.

    18
  19. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Micr, given the grift in that tribe it’s more likely they’re maneuvering for a piece of the coin action.

    19
  20. When Ted Cruz tried to get into the picture with, or on the stage with Kim Davis, a Huckabee goon physically blocked him!

    20
  21. This is very simple. Either she issues the marriage licenses, which she believes is a sin, or she can break her oath to God, which Biblically surely is a sin. The only ethical choice and Christian choice, if you believe her BS that gay marriage is a sin, is to resign. If she had a shred of integrity she would be looking for a job, retired or starting a business about now. BTW, she is a Democrat. Can’t win ’em all.

    21
  22. e platypus onion says:

She’s a Dem like Raphael Crudz is a human.

    22
  23. Real conscientious objectors resign their positions and avoid the near occasion of sin. This chick is just plain batt-bleep crazy.

    23
  24. OK, I’m opening a sort of office pool:
    .
Guess the date when Kimmy-Dear pisses off the US Federal (or any other) judge enough to get a return visit to the slammer.
    Guess that perp-walk date…
    .
I’ll say Wednesday of next week.

    24
  25. I guess I should have titled that pool a ‘Beauty Salon Pool’, heh.

    25
  26. @PKM
    Sadly, you are probably right.

    26
  27. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Sandridge, I’ll take tomorrow for $100. Make my winnings payable to the candidate of Miss Juanita Jean’s choice.

    27
  28. I’m for marriage equality. I’m for county clerks doing their jobs. They are not the first ones however to defy the feds on something they don’t like. I don’t care one way or the other about smoking pot, but I am deeply concerned when at least 2 states reject federal law and legalize distribution and sales of marijuana. This nullification process opens the door to segregation, voter exclusion, and who knows what dederal laws Texas, Louisiana, Aladamnbama, Mississippi and the rest of the losers of The War of Northern Aggression want to reject. I’m amazed they keep thumping bibles instead of pointing at Colorado and saying, “But they get to ignore federal law. Why can’t we?” That’s a way better argument than Leviticus says so.

    28
  29. Sanity from the KY governor:

“What you had here was a public official who voluntarily ran for election to that office, who is being paid $80,000 of taxpayer money, and the statute set out the duties of that office,” Beshear said.

“But then she decided she could pick out the duties she would perform, and not perform some of the others. And I don’t think the religious freedom law was ever passed to allow public officials not to do their job.”

    http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2015/sep/08/kentucky-clerk-kim-davis-released-from-jail

There’s a photo in that article of Huckabee the attention-[prostitute] with Davis, her lawyer, and her current husband. Is that husband for real? Could he *possibly* look any more redneck? I don’t see the shotgun, the beer, the dog, and the truck, but I’m sure they’re just off-camera.

    29
  30. So he’s using words like “judicial tyranny,” is he?

I didn’t see him getting so upset when the Supremes declared that corporations are people. Oh, that’s right, that’s something he agrees with.

Yep, uh huh. When it comes to Huckabee I do see a family resemblance, at that.

    **Never mind.**

    30
  31. Linda Lester says:

This whole situation is totally outrageous and should have been nipped in the bud in June after the decision when she stopped doing her job. The judge did the right thing by holding her in contempt and putting her in jail, then did the wrong thing by caving to the whackos. Shame shame, there should be something they can do about this. She is stealing money from the people by refusing to earn that $80 K per year–Sen Cruz needs to stop stealing money from us by not doing his job and instead prancing around the country on every coattail he feels gives him an opportunity for a Photo op–Disgusting the lot of them. Claiming religious freedom –really???

    31
  32. Marge Wood says:

JAKVirginia, is that list right?! Ohboyohboyohboy. Somebody tell her Jesus never said anything about abortion or gays but he condemned divorce. He was real big on folks not cheating on their spouses. I’m not recommending any of ’em, just saying.

    32
  33. Marge Wood says:

I kinda hafta say at this point, before I go in where there’s a mirror, the main thing Jesus condemned, besides greed, was self-righteousness.

    33
  34. To Linda Lester:
She just might take it out of the judge’s hands yet.
    Again.

The judge let her out because all four of the plaintiffs now have marriage licenses in hand so there are no longer any injured parties.

AND Davis offered the judge a way out. She told him that she had a “sensible solution”: So long as she didn’t have to sully her own fingers with those licenses, she would allow her underlings to issue them [which they apparently wanted to do all along but she wouldn’t let them – – and who had issued the 4 licenses which made this into a non-issue in the first place.]

So he kind of had to let her out – is what I heard.

    OK, then.

So the judge let her go out and up onto that stage and make a further spectacle of herself. [Oh yeah, she can SMELL a book deal from here!]

But NOW, she’s getting ready to rip herself a new one all over again.

According to her own statement as relayed by her “lawyer” [guy who’s using her to line his own pockets] she WILL NOT let her underlings do any such thing. And, if/when that happens, she’ll be putting herself smack-dab back into the middle of a constitutional crisis and the judge will have no choice but to toss her back into the slammer.

Her 15 minutes are not up yet, it seems. She’s got more milking of this whole shebang to do yet. **sigh**

    34
  35. Funny how Kim’s ‘conscience’ only stops other people from doing what they want.

    35
  36. Linda Phipps says:

JAKVirginia, Saint Kimmie has “repented” of her former digressions, and therefore is pure to move ahead in her interpretation of faith. God is up there and will make the final decision, not some figment of her imagination.

    36
  37. JAKvirginia says:

Linda Phipps: is that how that works? Cool. I gotta get me some of THAT religion.

    37
  38. they should make this crap into a sitcom.

    38
  39. I’m thinking movie of the week, if they run those on the religion channels.
