Thank You, Sweet Readers

Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to pay for mailing pre-filled application to Vote By Mail to 12,000 Texans over the age of 65, pay for 50 4X4 highway signs for Beto, provide 700 stamps for personal postcards to Democratic voters, pay for campaign school in Austin for a young first time candidate (which was a great investment), buy and distribute 400 Had Enough? signs …

… pay for 16,000 pre-filled voter registration applications with return postage paid to progressive voters who have moved into Fort Bend County and not changed their voter registration, rented a booth for the Scarecrow Festival next week that volunteers will staff, donated $500 toward this mailing to Fort Bend, Harris, Galveston, and Brazoria Counties that’s going out next week to Democratic women who rarely vote in off  year elections …

See big one here, and pay for 50 hours of canvassing.  I’m certain there’s more I’ll remember when Kyle balances the books.

You guys are freeking amazing.  You really are.  Pat yourselves on the back.

I know you’re all pretty much tapped out this late in an election cycle, but I’d love to pay some folks to reach out to Democrats who haven’t voted between the three days between the end of early voting and election day.

And everybody thank Kyle Longhofer, the nerd lawyer who keeps us all out of trouble with the Texas Ethics Commission, which is a damn big job, without hollering at me more than I’m already used to.  And he does it for free, plus he brings Ben wonderful presents from Disney World.

P.S. – Bubba just called and he said that some of the small counties along the Gulf Coast keep calling him about the Had Enough signs but we’re plum out.  His office is a designated pick up location for yard signs.  He bought 100 more himself for early voting polling locations to encourage straight ticket voting.  I’d like to buy 100 more.  They are 2.25 each with the planting wire attached.

She said that. She really said that.

Yes, Senator, you calling them crazy is a great encouragement to come forward.

North Carolina and Jesus

My friend Maggie live in North Carolina around the Chapel Hill area. She sent me a yard sign she saw today.

I guess they have some pretty lax disclosure laws in North Carolina.

Susan Collins and The Boys

Susan Collins, a woman, said this:

“I found Dr. Ford’s testimony to be heart-wrenching, painful, compelling, and I believe that she believes what she testified to.”

But she added: “I’m 100 percent certain that this did not happen.”

And she knows it did not happen because a man told her so.  A man said, “Hey, that woman over there testifying, she’s nuts in all kinds of ways,” and Susan Collins believed him.

Do you you what’s scarier than a Republican man?  A Republican woman because they have no excuse. They know they are doing the wrong thing and they do it anyway because a man told them to.

It’s Because We’re Lazy

October 05, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I can bring home the bacon,
Fry it up in pan,
And never, even let you
Forget you’re a man.
Because I’m a woman,
w-o-m-a-n.

And here’s the Chuck Grasley version

Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R., Iowa) predicted that there would be more Republican women on his panel next year, after suggesting that the panel’s workload was a deterrent.

“It’s a lot of work – maybe they don’t want to do it,” Mr. Grassley told reporters. “My chief of staff of 33 years tells me we’ve tried to recruit women and we couldn’t get the job done.”

Mr. Grassley later returned to clarify that he did not mean to imply women could not handle the committee’s workload, but rather that it made it less appealing to senators of both genders.

Yeah, that’s what you meant, Chuck. Sure thing.

Chuck, Honey, there’s only five Republican women in the entire Senate.  Democrats have 5 women on the judiciary committee alone.  So you have two on the judiciary committee. Maybe it’s just Republican women who are lazy, huh?  I know Susan Collins is intellectually lazy.  Does that count?

Jerk. That man is five pounds of arrogance in a two pound bag.
