I thought one of the happiest days of my life was in 2018 when Democrat Colin Allred handed a severe case of electile dysfunction to Texas Republican congressman Pistol Pete Sessions.

Pete packed his bags and moved to a new district that’s more Republican and has announced that he’s running there because the people you represent is just incidental to you being in damn congress.

Okay, here’s the smiling part.

WASHINGTON—Two Soviet-born donors to a pro-Trump fundraising committee who helped Rudy Giuliani’s efforts to investigate Democrat Joe Biden were arrested late Wednesday on criminal charges of violating campaign finance rules and are expected to appear in court on Thursday, according to people familiar with the matter.

Okay, so these evil doers formed a political PAC and threw major money around like it was beads at Mardi Gras.  A couple of days ago The Daily Beast predicted what was going to happen.

The more than $3 million that the group, America First Action, spent supporting former Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) included huge ad buys that appear to have pushed the boundaries of laws restricting super PAC coordination with political campaigns, according to a Daily Beast review of federal campaign finance and television broadcasting records. And they could severely complicate the former congressman’s attempt to win back office in 2020.

If the kids at The Daily Beast have a magic ball, we need to get one because it worked like a $50 hammer on a greased nail.

So, these Giuliani puppets spent $3 million of illegal money trying to get Pete Sessions reelected and he still lost.  And somebody is in handcuffs over it – somebody who’s liable to scream loud and long.

First Rick Perry gets butt deep in this Ukraine mess and now Sessions. While I could not argue that they both are useful idiots, I also believe that they both knew the real intent, other than making big money for their friends, was to hurt a leading Democrat.  Hurting the Democrat was icing on the cake.

Here’s the whole indictment.  Pistol Pete is referred to as Congressman 1.

Just to make Trump look like a bigger sucker, Erdogan tweeted his plans to invade the Kurds in Syria.

Our aim is to destroy the terror corridor which is trying to be established on our southern border and to bring peace and peace to the region,” Erdogan tweeted.

A National Security Council source with direct knowledge of the discussions told Newsweek that Trump got “rolled” by Erdogan.

“President Trump was definitely out-negotiated and only endorsed the troop withdraw to make it look like we are getting something—but we are not getting something,” the National Security Council source told Newsweek. “The U.S. national security has entered a state of increased danger for decades to come because the president has no spine and that’s the bottom line.”

Yeah, he’s letting the big boys use the United States like a welcome mat.  He’s a wussy and we need to start calling him that.

Breaking news this morning:

US Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland has been told by the State Department to not appear this morning before the House.

Sondland was set to be on the hot seat Tuesday as House investigators pressed him about text messages he exchanged related to President Donald Trump’s July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the freezing of foreign aid to Ukraine.

It’s really not a very big deal. They are probably just doing it because he has something to hide.

Trump tweets the reason —

… he would be testifying before a totally compromised kangaroo court, where Republican’s rights have been taken away, and true facts are not allowed out …

Wait, wait. We removed the Republican congressmen from the committee?  We don’t let them ask questions?

Y’all, Rick Perry is an amazing man.  First off, every damn job he’s ever had is sucking off the government teat. Yet, somehow, he became a millionaire.

Look, I’m not saying he’s dumb.  I’m saying he just has real bad luck when it comes to thinking.

He’s had some pretty smart schemers and connivers latch onto him to use his good looks and power to line their pockets.  They throw him a few dimes and nickels and Rick thinks he’s playing with the big boys – not that the big boys are playing him.

So now he’s standing there with his winkie under foot, scrambling to come up with a believable story.

He runs to the Christian Broadcasting Network – the fools who believe his story about possessing an ounce of ethics – and explains it all.

I never heard, and I talked to the president about this,” he told CBN News. “I had a conversation with – a phone call – with Rudy Guiliani about it. I’ve talked to the previous ambassador. I’ve talked to the current ambassador. I’ve talked to Kurt Volker, Gordan Sondland, the EU ambassador- every name that you’ve seen out in the media and not once, not once as God as my witness, not once was a Biden name – not the former vice president, not his son ever mentioned. Corruption was talked about in the country but it was always a relatively vague term of, you know, the oligarchs and this and that and what have you.”

Vague terms?  This and that and what have you?

Oops.

A Biden name was mentioned. You can bet your best pair of pink boots on that.

And now, I’m sure you’ve heard the reports that he’s resigning next month.  It’s been everywhere.

This morning, Rick took it back.

U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry said on Monday he had no plans to resign now or next month, denying a report that he was expected to announce his resignation in November.

Asked about the report in Politico, the U.S. energy secretary told a news conference in Lithuania: “No. I’m here, I’m serving.

“They’ve been writing the story for at least nine months now. One of these days they will probably get it right, but it’s not today, it’s not tomorrow, it’s not next month,” Perry said.

He’s resigning. You can bet on it.
