Keller, Texas, which is between Fort Worth and Flower Mound, got themselves a revival going on called “Deliver Us From Evil.’  No, seriously, there’s apparently a whole Mess O’ Evil in Keller.  I don’t know what it is, and most likely I don’t wanna know.

So they bussed in an evangelist  who is a former Executive Committee member of San Diego’s Republican Party.  I don’t know this for a fact, but I suspect he’s passing himself off as an expert in the blossoming field of evil, you know, what with that California connection.  His name is Dr. Gary Cass and he runs something called the Christian Anti-Defamation League, where I suspect my name is enshrined in the Hall of Fame, or soon will be.

Anyway, Dr. Cass got himself wound up giving a sermon to the sinners in Keller, Texas, and little spittle things started running down the sides of his mouth and he began speaking in tongues and stuff and shouted hallelujah praise guns.

No, seriously.

Cass blasted “progressive Christians” for abandoning “God’s word for Marxist liberation theology and in doing so have murdered their own souls.”

“By the way, I’ve got a whole sermon, you can’t be a Christian if you don’t own a gun,” he added. “That preaches in Texas, don’t it?”

“You have not just a right not bear arms, you have a duty.

Yep, just like Sweet Jesus.

John Sununu, that’s what.  One good thing though:  he can long longer accuse us of playing the race card.

When asked why General Colin Powell endorsed Barack Obama, Sununu had a ready answer.

Sununu: Well, I think when you have somebody of your own race that you’re proud of being president of the United States, I applaud Colin for standing with him.

Okay, on a 1 to 10 scale of patronizing, that’s a 42.7 – easy.

Second, here’s a follow-up question from Juanita:  “Honey, if Colin Powell is motivated by race, how did he ever be a Republican?”

Sooooo … we can only surmised that the only reason Sununu supports Romney is that he’s “somebody of his own race.”

Uh, I think we knew that all along, but it’s nice to have a confirmation, John.
