Holy Crap: Apples Not Far From the Tree

December 06, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Reverend Jerry Falwell, Jr – oh dear God, the man reproduced himself – is now president of Liberty University, that one stop fun stop for all your knuckle dragging needs.

He gave a speech and announced what Super DeLux Brand Christians need to do to be closer to Christ.

UnknownThe president of Liberty University urged students at the Christian school to carry concealed weapons on campus to counter any possible armed attack like the mass killings in San Bernardino, California.

“Let’s teach them a lesson if they ever show up here,” President Jerry Falwell Jr. told students at a convocation Friday.

“I’ve always thought if more good people had concealed carry permits, then we could end those Muslims before they walked in,” Falwell said.

At least he didn’t ask students to carve Jesus on their ammo.

As my friend Rev. Mordecai Ham says, there’s a new trinity: Jesus, Smith, and Wesson.

When questioned about “ending Muslims,” the Reverend responded that he meant Islamic Extremists and if anybody would know extremists …

I have observed that Reverend Jr always has a look on his face like he just smelled something really bad.  So, I can only guess that he does indeed have some self awareness.

Thanks to Mordecai for the heads up.

Just Because They Can

I was at an State Democratic Executive Committee meeting this weekend where we discussed ballot referenda for our primary ballot, including criminal justice reform, economic security, campus carry, climate change, and other stuff to make our lives better.

The Republicans, who were meeting at the same time across town, decided to take a different approach.  They decided to vote on wherever or not they want to be Americans.

No, I am not making that up.

imagesA proposal to put Texas secession to a non-binding vote in March passed a state GOP committee vote in Austin on Friday afternoon, clearing the way for a vote Saturday by the Party’s full executive assembly, party officials reported.

I was really disappointed that it failed on the floor.  I want those sumbitches to secede.  Hell, I’ll even give them Waco and include a huuuuge wall around it with no way out.

The referendum was worded  …

“If the federal government continues to disregard the constitution and the sovereignty of the State of Texas, the State of Texas should reassert its status as an independent nation.”

They could have shortened it by stating, “Yes, we still have a black President.”

Jimmy Carter’s Prayers

December 06, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I kinda think all those right wingers need to start following President Jimmy Carter’s brand of religion.

Washington (CNN)Jimmy Carter’s cancer is gone, the former president announced on Sunday.

Carter, 91, revealed the news in front of a Sunday School class he was teaching at Maranatha Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia.

He lives what he preaches.  I love this man and completely apologize for thinking he was a goner several months ago.

Friday Fun With Dick

Okay, so Dick Cheney, international war criminal, returned to DeeCee as the Vice Presidential bust was unveiled and they all ate cookies and cheered.

You need to see it.

2775

Ya think they could have made it any whiter?

See, I am convinced that this is not a bust at all, but a leftover mold for a Dick Cheney suit.  As he slowly morphs into Darth Cheney, his outfit is being held in reserve.  But hell, they had the mold leftover and hated to waste it.

Thanks to Bryan for the heads up.

Now We Have To Worry About Copy-Cat Trumps

December 03, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

In a move that sends shivers up, down, and sideways your spine, the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee wants all the Republican senatorial candidates to be mini-Trump.

In a seven-page confidential memo that imagines Trump as the party’s presidential nominee, the head of the National Republican Senatorial Committee urges candidates to adopt many of Trump’s tactics, issues and approaches — right down to adjusting the way they dress and how they use Twitter.

Oh dear Lord, is their room for that much bombastic ignorance in America or will we need to annex South America to make room?

You can read the whole dumb memo right here.

Dumbing down as a political tactic is not new to Republicans but they are digging plum through to China on this one.

Still, Baker sees limits to being like Trump. He writes that it is prudent for Senate candidates to craft their own political brands distinct from Trump’s and to distance themselves by quickly condemning his more controversial comments, such as “wacky things about women.”

Ya think?  Ya really think?

Yesterday Trump said that he wants to execute the families of terrorists. Oh hell, Senate candidates, why stop there?  Let’s dig up their grandparents and re-kill ‘um.  Kinda give them a booster shot of death just to make sure they aren’t faking it.

The NRSC has a solution.  Of sorts.

“It is certain that all GOP candidates will be tied in some way to our nominee, but we need not be tied to him so closely that we have to engage in permanent cleanup or distancing maneuvers,” Baker writes, adding, “Don’t get drawn into every Trump statement and every Trump dust-up.”

So GOP candidates should walk on a string over the Grand Canyon of really bad ideas?

This is going to be such fun.
