Louie’s daughter might very well be smarter than him.
11But what I have to keep reminding myself is that he graduated from law school, passed the bar, and was a judge. He’s not stupid. He’s infinitely worse. He chooses his ignorance and douchebaggery. He’s obviously got the intellectual tools to to see reason and morality. But his right wing worldview steers his intellect to reinforce itself no matter what. To do anything else would be to admit that his whole life has been…….sh*t.
Can’t have that.
P.P. — Chris Hayes on his Why Is This Happening podcast had on an aurhor who has a book about the Right’s attempt to create a whole alternate universe: “their” scientists, “their” journalism, “their” worldview, and reduce anything else to political sneakery. They want a world where Darwin is either “theirs” or “ours,” and not to be believed until that is decided. Same for all science, and every word uttered. If The Gohmes was a respectable lawyer and judge before, his stupidity is a product of his earnest attempt to start over with foundational principles like Descartes, and believe nothing, know nothing, until Limbaugh says it, or something like that.
