When Jim Jordan Has A Bad Day, I Enjoy It. So Can You! UPDATE! Don’t Send The DJ Home!

March 03, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

It looks like Congressvarmint Jordan will be getting a visit from the FEC’s lawyers in the enforcement division.

And, oh Baby, they far exceed $100,000 by a lot. By a whole lot.

Yeah, it appears that there’s some hanky-panky that Ole Jim absolutely didn’t see for himself and had no idea it was going on. No idea, I tell you, he did not see it, nor did he look for it. It was just going on with him in the next room but he didn’t know it.  You know how that happens, right?

Here’s just s few of the things Jim didn’t see or know that was happening on his own campaign finance reports.

* an increase in disbursements totaling $37,784.91 and a decrease in receipts totaling $176,910.06 on a 2019 report that covered campaign expenses between July and September.

* an increase in receipts totaling $144,562.79 on its year end report for 2019.

* a decrease in receipts totaling $56,995.48 and a decrease in disbursements totaling $502,687.65 on a 2020 pre-primary report that covered January 1 through February 26.

And that’s just a tiny little simple.

Poor Jim. People do all manner of horrible things right around him that he can’t see.  It must be awful to live that way.

He’s having a bad day.

Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up.

UPDATE: Well, lookie here —

The Daily Beast has jumped on the story with both feet and a cannon ball.

Brett Kappel, campaign finance attorney at Harmon Curran, said that the reports appear “so substantially incorrect” that the FEC may order an audit.

“The legal standard to trigger an FEC audit is high: Whether filings meet the threshold for ‘substantial compliance’ with the law,” Kappel explained. “Jordan’s FEC reports were so substantially incorrect over such a long period of time that they may meet the standard.”

We’ll probably have more days to enjoy about Jordan before this is over.  That’s a mess of money!

We’re Number 48!

March 03, 2021 By: El Jefe Category: Abbott, Coronavirus, Corruption, Power Crisis

That’s right, folks, even as Greg Magical Thinking Abbott proclaimed the Coronavirus pandemic over and rescinded all statewide restrictions, the pandemic continues to rage and continues to take lives.   Our positivity rate is 13.5% this week, nearly triple the rate the CDC recommends before opening.  On top of that, Texas ranks 48th in vaccinations, with less than 7% of Texans vaccinated.  The positivity rate now is about the same as last October when the pandemic was beginning its holiday spike that killed thousands of Texans.  What Abbott is doing is stupid.  The real tragedy is that he’s smart enough to know it’s stupid, but having now lost a lot of the center after letting millions of Texans freeze in the dark, his only path to keeping his job next year is to take the Trump path, whip up the extreme right mouthbreathers.

This is classic right-winger response to crises, just like the Great Blackout of 2021 – break the system, make sure it doesn’t function properly, take huge risks while falsely boasting about how great we are, don’t do anything when obvious problems show themselves, then pretend it’s someone else’s fault and throw a staffer under the bus when the system fails.  During the blackout, Abbott threw wind farms, the PUC, and ERCOT all under the bus even though the responsibility for the disaster lay right in his lap and that of the state legislature.

Everyone needs to brace for the next big wave that is certain to come, extending the misery in Texas even longer. Texas’ response to the pandemic has been nothing more than piss-poor.  For comparison, let’s look at a country with similar populations with much better results: Taiwan.  Texas has 29 million people.  Taiwan, 24 million.  Deaths in Texas? 44,000.  Taiwan? 9.  That’s right, 9.  Taiwan did it right.  They never locked down, but implemented strong quarantine rules, contact tracing, and most important, PAID their people to stay home.  Like most of Europe, Taiwan took the financial stress out of the equation.  By contrast, Abbott and the idiots in the legislature added to people’s misery by providing little to no assistance.  He then re-opened the economy in May just as the pandemic was starting to rock.  Realizing his blunder in July, he then implemented stronger shut down measures and a statewide mandate, but kept the state purse strings tied tight.   The result was predictable.  Add Abbott’s blundering to Trump’s gross negligence and incompetence, and you get some of the worst COVID response on the planet.  Thanks for nothing.

Oh, and one last tidbit.  Abbott made this announcement from a Mexican restaurant in Lubbock which, by coincidence, is not connected to ERCOT and didn’t experience the blackouts most of Texas suffered.  Apparently the places in Texas he won’t get booed off the stage are getting a lot smaller.  Asshole.

Because People Weren’t Dying Fast Enough UPDATE

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has thrown out the mask mandate.

Yeah, it was working too well and all the scientists said not to do it.

He did it.  Starts next week.

Asshole.

UPDATE – he did it now to have it mask-free for college and public school spring break.  College break starts March 8th and March 15th is public schools.  Also, can’t miss St Patrick’s Day.

Alvin School Board

March 02, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Alvin is a little racist town just south of me.  Here is their school board.

Now, I know your first thought is, “Isn’t that a nice Morman family. It looks like all the wives made their own clothes. That’s handy.”  It isn’t. It’s the damn school board.

We’re going to talk about only one of them.  I just thought you’d enjoy seeing them all. The woman in the black polka-dot dress in the back. Her name is Julie Pickren. She’s running for re-election. She spoke at the Pearland (bigger small city next to Alvin) Republican Club in January.  Her topic: a report from the January 6th March for Trump event.

Yeah, she was there and proud of it. She even claimed the people breaking into the capitol were antifa members.  She’s running for the damn school board.

Thanks to Pam for the heads up.

If It Ain’t One, It’s The Other, And It’s Probably Both

All Republicans are nincompoops. They will steal the gold out of their grandma’s teeth.

Here ya go.

The Office of Congressional Ethics (OCE) concluded in a report made public on Monday that there is “substantial” evidence that Rep. Steven Palazzo (R-Miss.) misused campaign as well as official funds and used his office to help his brother in violation of House rules.

Yep, it’s a white guy from Mississippi.  He charged his campaign $82,363  to use his lakeside property as a campaign headquarters.  He was trying to sell the property and it needed sprucing-up.  He also sent his staff to the property to oversee the maintenance and help with selling it.

And … he had his staff get his kids ready for camp and send them goodie boxes while they were at camp.

And … he helped his brother to upgrade his reenlistment code for the Navy.

And I’m sure there’s more.  He’s being represented by, of course, a former a congressman.
