Problem Solved

Okay, there’s this.

The owner, stylist, and customers of The World’s Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc. are proud to announce that we have found a solution:

All immigrants should pretend to be Christians.  You know, like Republicans do.

Victoria, Texas

Victoria, Texas, is about an hour’s drive from where I live.  I have a lot of good friends there and by friends, I mean Democrats I know and love.

This is not a good morning in Victoria.

Flames engulfed the Islamic Center of Victoria, destroying the building in the predawn hours Saturday as congregation members watched from the curb, overcome with emotion.

“It’s a house of worship,” Shahid Hashmi, president of the center, said as he watched the flames from across the street.

Morning prayers were held on the sidewalk in front of the mosque.

The cause of the fire has not been determined, but I recall a couple of years ago that someone plead guilty to spray painting H8 on the side of the mosque.

If the spirit moves you, they are determined to rebuild.  You can pitch in a couple of dollars if you want to send a message of love.

Thanks to Laura for the heads up.

No, Dammit. No. No. No.

Last night an Iraqi citizen, who is highly praised by US military troops for his work with them, was detained at Kennedy Airport in New York.  His wife and child waited in Houston.

I am without words because there are no words.  Except NO.

This used to be America, land of the free and home of the brave.

The New York Times asks itself where this horrifying fear of Muslims came from.  They found the answer.   Rightwing fake news.  So Steve Bannon, who made up most of these stories, is running our country now and is going to make this a religious war, playing right into the hands of Isis.

I’m putting on my marching shoes.

So, to all you Republicans who asked me to give Donald Trump a chance, I did.  Look at the mess he has made.

Gaslighting: Yes, It’s Really a Thing

January 28, 2017 By: El Jefe Category: Trump

Gaslighting, a technique used to manipulate people by making them question their own judgement, is the prime tool being used by Cheeto Jesus and his Merry Band of Bigots now infesting the White House and spreading the cancer of hate throughout the US government.  Psychology today has published a guide to recognizing it and protecting yourself from it.

This in from Deb —-

The Trump Administration, which has cause to understand the power of the Twitter, has shut down access to all social media accounts for Govt. Agencies. They are banned from releasing reports, or commenting on factual information before it has been personally approved by the Trump Administration. When The Badlands NPS Twitter account tweeted out climate change information relative to the park it was quickly shut down.

This has caused a number of Alternative Federal Agency Twitter Accounts to pop up. They are doing what real agencies can’t do, speak truth to power. Today, this one came through.

Not the Avocados!

January 27, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

You know it’s a sad state of affairs for a girl from Texas when this election meant that we went from a taco truck on every corner to a 20% tax on avocados.

This whole idea of me paying 20% tax on avocados is bad enough but do you realize that 71% of tomatoes we get in the US are imported from Mexico, and 98% of the good hot peppers?  Those are the makings of a taco.  I ain’t giving up tacos.

Not only that, but also

Mexico is the biggest exporter of fresh produce to the U.S. by far, responsible for nearly 70 percent of our vegetable imports and almost 40 percent of fruit imports.

And 70% of mangos come from Mexico.

100% of Topo Chico.  And 100% of Corona and Tequila.

But, here’s my biggest concern. Every day when I think about Steve Bannon running our country, I wonder if the wall is to keep Mexico out or the trap me in.
