No, Wait, It’s That White Guy. No, Wait, It’s That White Guy. No, Wait…

Y’all, in the contest of which cabinet member will get us all killed first, I keep changing my mind.  The ranking from bad to worse to worst to holy crap stop that guy is very fluid.

You know that Flynn guy and his whacked-out son?  Well, the pecan don’t fall far from the tree.

Daddy Flynn, who is now Trump’s National Security Adviser, has an equally tenuous grip on reality.  He recently deleted a tweet where he hisownself spread a false narrative that’s MUST READ about Hillary and the pizza shop.

Dude, you cannot erase tweets by deleting them.  Some guy always keeps a copy.

You’d think a national security advisor would know that.  And you’d be wrong.

Thanks, Guys

Thanks for reporting some problems with the comment section.  Our geek, Anna, is working on it.  I don’t think Putin had anything to do with it, but you never know, now do you?

Big Time Republicans Support Tillerson – But There’s a Tiny Detail

December 15, 2016 By: El Jefe Category: 2016 Election, Trump

In the last couple of days, big time mainstream republicans have backed Tillerson for Secretary of State.  The problem is, though, that they left out a little detail about their endorsements: they all work for Tillerson’s company, Exxon Mobil.

James Baker, Secretary of State under Bush I and who led the recount effort for Bush II, strongly endorsed Tillerson, hailing his “management skills”.  He left out the fact that his law firm, Baker Botts, represents Exxon including a price fixing allegation against the company.

Robert Gates and Condoleezza Rice also strongly endorsed Tillerson heaping praise on his abilities and suitability for the job, but dodging questions about his close relationship with Vladimir Putin.  They also left out the fact that their consulting firm, Rice Hadley Gates, also works for Exxon.

Most of the MSM has ignored the clear conflicts in these endorsements.  Politico is reporting it and surprisingly, since there is no Ebola outbreak this month, so is CNN.

The 400 Lb. Russian

December 15, 2016 By: El Jefe Category: 2016 Election, Russian Hacking

I’m not a big fan of Lindsey Graham, but sometimes he delivers great lines.  Yesterday in an interview with Wolf Blitzer, he delivered one:

“If it was a 400 lb. guy, it was a 400 lb. Russian guy.”

Oh Dear God. They Are Giving Rick Perry Nukes.

December 14, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, okay, I am trying to get a grip but I just can’t.  There’s no grip here.  I’ve looked everywhere.

Forbes Magazine posted an opinion piece about Rick Perry being the best thing ever to grab ahold of the Department of Energy.

The column praises Rick Perry for letting the oil industry run amuck in Texas, where we have the worst pollution in America and there are times when unregulated dangerous chemicals are allowed to blow up a whole damn town and kill 15 people. Because …. liberty!

Here’s how Rick does it.

pension-shocker-rick-perry-is-double-dipping-into-the-texas-state-coffersTexas is indeed blessed with oil and natural gas, but it takes well-devised policy to turn those resources into economic results. New York, for example, has tremendous natural gas resources but will not allow the hydraulic fracturing (fracking) processes to extract them. Other states allow fracking but have impeded a constructive business environment to allow energy production to reach its full potential.

Oh hell yeah, you can frack in downtown Dallas plus not pay any taxes.  We’re last in education and children are dying because they don’t have health insurance but, by gawd, we can drive a gas guzzler.

But here’s when I lost my grip.

Perry has consistently advocated removing obstacles to all-of-the-above energy sources. Beyond fracking, Perry supported removing obstacles to building new nuclear power plants.

Nukes.  He’s going to oversee damn nukes.  He’s gonna let Bubba Hank’s Nuclear Power and Fishing Bait build a nuke in your backyard.  Bubba Hank don’t need no damn obstacles. Bubba Hank don’t need no damn paperwork or oversight.  You can just trust him because he gave Rick Perry a campaign donation.

I can’t get a grip, y’all.

Thanks to Steve for the heads up.

Heads Up to Texas Friends

All three of the announced candidates for new Democratic National Committee Chair will be in Austin this Saturday at 1:30 at the State Democratic Executive Committee meeting to speak.  The meeting is open to the public and while questions and speeches from the floor are not allowed (or we’d be there for a month), you will be able to meet the candidates and hear them speak.  Most Texas Democratic National Committee members will also be there.  They are the ones who vote on the new chair and this is your opportunity to lobby them for your favorite candidate.

Saturday, December 17th at the Sheraton (701 E. 11th) at 1:30. Announced candidates:  Keith Ellison, Jaime Harrison, and Raymond Buckley
