Update on the Site Issues

December 16, 2016 By: Anna The Geek Category: Uncategorized

Anna The Geek here. First of all, I really appreciate your patience and good humor in dealing with all the issues with the site. It’s been crazy. Really crazy. So here is an update.

I have put in a better but still a temporary fix to the comment issue. You will need to fill out your name AND email again. For now, it’s every time you comment. So disregard Juanita’s previous directives.

Some of you are not able to see the latest posts and/or comments. I am still working on that. For now, reload the page, try another computer, click on December 2016 archives.

Bluehost has been a very reliable, cheap, and easy to work with hosting provider until December 10 when they updated the server and had network issues and the wait times to talk to them started approaching 2 hour mark. I am willing to give them a benefit of a doubt for now. But you can be sure I am not exactly thrilled with this happening during the holidays and right before the Electoral College vote.

Again, thanks for your patience and kind words. You are absolutely the best.

Here’s the Deal

Okay, we’re still trying to figure out what’s wrong with the website and the comments.  Meanwhile, Anna the Geek has has given us a temporary fix.

Until we get all this worked out, I will be approving all comments.  IMPORTANT:  Just put the name you use at Juanita’s in the name box and no email address.

Hopefully, we’ll have this fixed soon.

Third World Texas

Once again, and this is at least the fourth time this year, the good people of beautiful Corpus Christi, Texas, are being told not to drink the water, cook with it, brush your teeth or even bathe in it.  Boiling it won’t do any good.

No other information has been provided and several of my friends didn’t get the news until after their morning shower and teeth brushing.   Schools have been closed.

Corpus’s economy is driven by the oil and petrochemical industry, which, according to Rick Perry, need less regulation.

Energy Secretary Rick Perry – well, that scares the peewahdoodle outta me.

Thanks to my friends in Corpus for the heads up.

No, Wait, It’s That White Guy. No, Wait, It’s That White Guy. No, Wait…

Y’all, in the contest of which cabinet member will get us all killed first, I keep changing my mind.  The ranking from bad to worse to worst to holy crap stop that guy is very fluid.

You know that Flynn guy and his whacked-out son?  Well, the pecan don’t fall far from the tree.

Daddy Flynn, who is now Trump’s National Security Adviser, has an equally tenuous grip on reality.  He recently deleted a tweet where he hisownself spread a false narrative that’s MUST READ about Hillary and the pizza shop.

Dude, you cannot erase tweets by deleting them.  Some guy always keeps a copy.

You’d think a national security advisor would know that.  And you’d be wrong.

Thanks, Guys

Thanks for reporting some problems with the comment section.  Our geek, Anna, is working on it.  I don’t think Putin had anything to do with it, but you never know, now do you?

Big Time Republicans Support Tillerson – But There’s a Tiny Detail

December 15, 2016 By: El Jefe Category: 2016 Election, Trump

In the last couple of days, big time mainstream republicans have backed Tillerson for Secretary of State.  The problem is, though, that they left out a little detail about their endorsements: they all work for Tillerson’s company, Exxon Mobil.

James Baker, Secretary of State under Bush I and who led the recount effort for Bush II, strongly endorsed Tillerson, hailing his “management skills”.  He left out the fact that his law firm, Baker Botts, represents Exxon including a price fixing allegation against the company.

Robert Gates and Condoleezza Rice also strongly endorsed Tillerson heaping praise on his abilities and suitability for the job, but dodging questions about his close relationship with Vladimir Putin.  They also left out the fact that their consulting firm, Rice Hadley Gates, also works for Exxon.

Most of the MSM has ignored the clear conflicts in these endorsements.  Politico is reporting it and surprisingly, since there is no Ebola outbreak this month, so is CNN.
