Yep. It’s Happening.
The worst kept secret in Texas got out of the bag yesterday.
Wendy Davis is going to run for Governor and will be announcing it on October 3rd in Fort Worth. Bubba and I will be there as a “special guests” along with about 5,000 other “special guests.” We decided that we want to drive 5 hours (which is a day trip in Texas) to see this momentous event.
If you want to help, waltz on over to the Texas Democratic Party and put your dollars where it will matter. You can donate in exchange for stuff (scroll down for the fabulous Hillary bumper stickers) or just toss in a few dollars.
I promise to take pictures and send kisses and hugs from the announcement.
And, in the immortal words of Margo Channing as spoken by the inimitable Bette Davis, “Hang on, it’s going to be a bumpy ride!”

I’m considering going to the announcement as well – if I can round up some compadres to drive with from Austin. I figure it’s about a 3 hour drive.

6I’m in Ft Worth (but not in Wendy’s district). If you’re coming north on I-35W allow extra time for construction. Governor Perry’s business partner is building toll roads in Tarrant County now. The best Mexican food is on the north side in the stockyards area.
7I sent some through Act Blue (and not for the first time) to Wendy a couple days ago, and it won’t be the last time either.
