Yeah, But He Was Drunk

July 06, 2014 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

You wanna know the best thing that happened all year?

Steve Stockman is leaving congress.  Hell, if he’d leave Texas, I’ll buy the damn ticket.

Get a load of this crapola.

Yeah, because liberals love to go backwards.

Here’s his reasoning ….

“Civilization is a society in which the rights of the individual trump the whims of the majority,” Stockman added. “This ruling is a reminder liberals seek to drag us back to Stone Age tribalism in which one can be subjugated to the tribe as a whole.”

Okay, see that there doesn’t make sense.  And there’s a reason it doesn’t:  Steve Stockman thought it up.

Yep, birth control is nothing more than a feminine whim.

Hey Stockman, how about being subjugated to the Super DeLux Brand Christian Tribe?

Y’all, he’s drunk most of the time.  I don’t know that for a fact but it’s what I just gotta believe.  I mean, nobody that crazy would be allowed to carry a gun, right?

Thanks to Barbara for the heads up.

Be social and share!

  1. I think I may have said this before but it bears repeating. Steve Stockman is a Triple Threat Conservative: crazy, stupid, and evil.

    1
  2. I’ve been reading a fair amount recently on ritualistic tribal societies, and the closest model that we have in modern day America would be the Republican Party. Specifically Tea Party members.

Rep. Stockman, I’ve got a good reading list for you if you want to find out what you’re talking about.

  3. RepubAnon says:

I’m glad to hear that Mr. Stockman supports making birth control freely available, eliminating government regulation of clinics offering abortions, and the rights of Muslims to build a mosque at Ground Zero. After all, if the rights of the individual trump the will of the majority, then we can do anything we want… right?

Oh, yeah, I forgot: what he meant to say is that the rest of society must comply with Mr. Stockman’s personal beliefs regardless of how few of his fellow citizens agree with his beliefs. (If a majority of citizens agree with Mr, Stockman, his will must be done because elections have consequences; if only a few citizens share Mr. Stockman’s beliefs – the majority must comply with Mr. Stockman’s orders because following his orders without question or dissent is a necessary requirement of living in a free society.

Can you say two-faced hypocritical weasel?

  4. Is Rick Perry is dumber than a sack full of hammers, then Stockman must be dumber than a sack full of rocks.

  5. Marge Wood says:

Well, maybe now Stockman can write the Great American Novel in all his spare time.

    5
  6. Specifically, the rights of the individual [man] trump the whims of the majority [women]. After all, men are people. Women are just women.

  7. Braxton Braggart says:

Just remember that politics is like driving — put it in D to go forward, R to go backwards.

    7
  8. maryelle says:

Way to go, Braxton! We’ve got to get signs made up with that gem on them. So succinct.
If brevity is the soul of wit, then you are Chief Wit today.

  9. Kate Dungan says:

He can’t comment until he grows girl parts…until then he’s just a dick.

    9
  10. Kate, he’d be a dick anyway. Sounds like his brain is in backwards.

    10
  11. Braxton Braggart says:

@maryelle — that’s not my original observation, but very quotable.

    11
  12. Marge Wood says:

If you haven’t looked, you might enjoy reading the FB page about OPEN CARRY GUITAR RALLY. I’m for all the musicians and artists taking to the streets, oh, and folks carrying baskets of homemade gingersnaps to hand out in the name of peace.

  13. Marcia in CO says:

What caught my eye was the fact he used the word:

    “trump”

That word just conjures up stupid no matter how you look at it!! As in: Donald Trump

    13
  14. Old Fart says:

And here I thought that when the rights of the individual trump those of society it was called anarchy. I think the idea is to balance the needs of the society and the individual, but I am a Yankee.

    14
  15. He clearly hasn’t seen enough Star Trek movies, or he would know that “The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few… or the one.”

And if he’d ever read Terry Pratchett, he’d know that “Personal ain’t the same as important.”

  16. Polite Kool Marxist says:

No argument about Stevie being flat dumber than a rock.

However what he and the 5 Opus Dei dummies missed is the fundamental patient/doctor privilege. The fundies, the company for whom my wife works; none of them have a right to invade her doctor/patient privilege and privacy.

Fine. The wingnuts don’t want to fund reproductive health care. I don’t want to fund their wars. So, shall the annual IRS gathering of funds be a multiple selection format? Kool. I vote for education, healthcare and infrastructure. Would be more than happy to earmark our tax form.

The 5 Opus Dei corporate tool dummies have really on a narrow 5-4 margin brought us corporate free speech, corporate religion and more destruction of unions. Please, please, please bring out the 2014 vote and and a Congress to IMPEACH the Dominionist Five.

    16
  17. Aggieland liz says:

No, no, no PKM, you’ve got it right with the Opus Dei label on those clowns (I wonder if their wives all wear pre Vatican II veils?) but the Dominionist movement is not Cathlick, it’s made up of the Pat Robertson and James Dobson types; Mike Huckabee MAY be one. The Cathlick 5 are getting all mixed up on what gets rendered to Caesar and what gets rendered to God again, and Antonin (fat Tony?) Scalia is all about legislating morality to control the activities of us peons while handing corporations a carte blanche for whatever mischief they want to get up to (note: Corporations have mergers but they don’t have sex – cathlicks have some REALLY DEEP SEATED hangups about sex – ergo, corporations can’t be guilty of anything THAT bad, because no sex!) which resulted in this really fine mess they’ve gotten us into. But it’s definitely Opus Dei, not Dominionist!

    17
  18. Marge Wood says:

    Hey, PKM, great bumper sticker:

    IMPEACH THE DOMINIONIST FIVE!

We can get a cottage industry going here. Maybe even get grant money for poor women to start their own bumper sticker shop. Not a bad idea, actually. I have a neighbor who does reupholstery in her garage with the door open. Why not someone making bumper stickers and political pins at the kitchen table?

    18
  19. Teh Gerg says:

What a total imbecile. Unfortunately, he’s no worse than what we’ve got in Jawjuh.

    19
  20. As I live up close and personal with congress critters around here, the whole point is, when are they not drinking?

    20
  21. Fred Farklestone says:

    trib·al·ism noun
: loyalty to a tribe or other social group especially when combined with strong negative feelings for people outside the group

Sounds like the Republican Party to me!

    21
  22. Fred, that’s a good point, but I think that “cult” might be even more apt.

    22
  23. maryelle says:

If anyone has been “subjugated”, it’s the individuals whose rights were “trumped” by a for-profit corporation. Corporations exist to make money and cannot possess individual rights. Human beings possess the right to religious freedom and those 5 justices need to go.
