Witch Mitch

Okay, so have you been wondering why Mitch McConnell has been blocking $25 billion in funding for USPS for 105 days, I have some candy for your curiosity.

In paperwork filed last night, USPS Board of Governors Chairman Robert M. Duncan is listed as Director of Mitch McConnell’s $130M super PAC, Senate Leadership Fund.

  1. I have a friend who has called Mitch “lazy.” I don’t believe that for a second. Vile, evil, hateful, greedy–yes. Lazy? No; he’s working hard to inflict the most pain possible while optimizing the content of his personal coffers.

  2. Holee Effen Shit! That is crony corruption on a massive blatant scale.
I’m “Shocked”, just shocked, stunned, amazed, aghast, unbelieving, surprised… how oh how could such things happen in our pristine nation?

OK, please enlighten my naivete: Why would McConnell try to sabotage the “company” that a major fundraiser heads?
    What am I not getting?

Jere, the whole point of appointing the guy was to run the post service in the hole so that (1) immediate benefit: mail ballots wouldn’t get there in time, but more importantly (2) long term: allowing private carriers to take over the postal service.

Here’s a question that needs to be asked to Mitch,
“If you lose your position as Majority Leader are you going to retire or finish out the 6 year term you were just re-elected too?”

  9. Fred Farklestone says:

If Mitch quits, here’s what I would think that the Governor would do, who is a Democrat, he would pick a Dem, for McConnell’s re-placement! McConnell would receive a double kick in his arse – by losing his leadership and his seat!

Concerning McConnell dragging up and resigning!
“If a vacancy occurs due to death, resignation, or expulsion the amendment allows the state legislature to empower the governor to appoint a replacement. That replacement would hold the seat until the end of the senator’s current term or until a special election could be held.”

  11. Warren G. Harding’s Teapot Dome scandal of the 1920s and Watergate both pale in comparison to the corruption and lawlessness of the Trump administration. They don’t even try to be discreet. As usual, only a few at the bottom of the pyramid might actually be prosecuted.

  13. I was always a bit puzzled by Repubs’ insistence on the USPS’ fully funding its pension obligations, something no private corporation would have (or probably want) to do. Sure, it ensures that they show losses every year; but I had a thought: if a private corporation took over the mails, would they still be obligated in this way? If not, would the pension assets suddenly become available for other uses, like stock buy-backs and executive bonuses? What a sweet deal that would be for some lucky corporate crony!
