Understatement

September 08, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

This is from my local sheriff’s department this morning.

They forgot brandishing of firearms, Lone Star beer liter, general cranky behavior, and threats of selling your car right there on the spot and walking home.

Be social and share!

  1. Brandishing of firearms brings back memories. I was returning from a funeral riding in a friends car. We were being harassed by a couple of guys in a truck that my friend apparently pissed off. He told all me and another two fellows in the car to reach under our seats. There was a pistol under every seat. We held the pistols in sight while the truck ran up to the side of the car. One look and the driver of the truck jammed on his brakes and the truck disappeared. The owner/driver of the car I was in was a Louisiana State Trooper. Later he became an assistant DA. But we were in East Texas, so I guess it was all legal.

  2. I had the pleasure of doing several projects for Sheriff Terry Box of Collin County beginning in 1985. I’ve known most of the Dallas County Sheriffs back to Bill Decker, including Lupe Valdez. One or two cussed like sailors stranded in the Quarter, BUT IMO not a single one of them would have allowed such a tweet to have originated from their department’s Twitter site. Troy Nehls is an embarrassment to all the fine men and women who have served as elected law enforcement officials since James Madden became the first elected sheriff in Texas, in Houston County.

  3. In my area that would have been Route 29, a super hot mess for years and years. A local woman ran for the state leg with just one message in this era of Trump: for God sakes finally fix Route 29 before everyone still stuck on it gets Social Security and or dies of old age! She won! First Lesbian in the state leg. Good for her. Finally get some work done!
