The Rumors Are True

April 15, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Trump is holding up people’s checks for a few days so that his signature can appear on the checks.

All the more reason to get direct deposit.

The unprecedented decision, finalized late Monday, means that when recipients open the $1,200 paper checks the IRS is scheduled to begin sending to 70 million Americans in coming days, “President Donald J. Trump” will appear on the left side of the payment.

It’s not his money, dammit.

Some little kid in America may go to bed hungry tonight because Trump’s name has to be printed on the check.  Families are waiting for that money.

No wonder he thinks he’s king. He has plenty of people telling him that he is.

Be social and share!

  1. Already seeing people suggesting adding something to the memo line George Takei recommends adding F*^k in front of the king’s signature.

I blame McConnell. The s.o.b. could stop Trump cold if he just had the guts.

  3. Don’t spend the money until the check clears the bank.

Oh soap. Those who can afford it least, those too poor to have checking accounts are always the first to be screwed. Added to the indignity of being last in line again, odds are those checks will bounce, a habit developed from having Donnie’s* signature. Speaking of the economically disadvantaged, hey Donnie* why don’t you* have Pence or Jughead coordinate with FEMA? Bet there are many who could use one of those handy disaster trailers with laundry facilities. Clean hands, clean clothes are just a couple more ‘niceties’ that go along with social distancing to contain a pandemic.

Hey Covidiot* 45 if we need a reminder of your* gross incompetence, toilet paper is a better issue. Toss out a few rolls, moron*.

Memo to Joe (it’s a new list of memory aids to help him govern) Save the USPS and set up banking accessibility for the poor, until living wage legislation is passed.

  5. Almost. It’s not his signature (he’s not an authorized signer at the Treasury!), but just his name.

More than one person has suggested that we take a black sharpie and blot out his signature before cashing the check.

Bernie at 2 – Not a question of mcconnell having the guts to become a good guy. It is his long-term goal to destroy liberals and to pack the courts, esp S.Ct. with ultra conservatives.

  8. It’s the first time I can recall Trump has been consistent.
He held up the initial government response against COVID-19.
Now he’s holding up assistance people need since many no longer have regular paycheck.

And speaking of postponements, since Trump wants everyone to see his name on a government check, now would be a great time to show us his name on a government tax return. Then we can see how much he paid into the federal coffers, which helps make those checks possible.

  9. Mine showed up in my checking account today. It’s nice to have, but it also reminds me of the bullshit going on in this administration every day. As for McConnell, may he rot in hell and lose his election bigly.

maybe he think’s with his signature on the memo line he can write it off of his own taxes as gifts

[This is a repeat of a comment I made yesterday. You get old, you start repeating yourself.]

Wow, Trump is learning from . . . Sarah Palin.

In 2008, Palin sent every resident of Alaska $1200 from the state government treasury. This was not part of the Alaska permanent fund dividend. It was over and above the dividend. Just “here ya go, some money for you.”

Palin was, of course, running for office. She used state money to buy popularity.

Now Trump is sending everybody in the US $1200 from the federal treasury. And his name will be on the check.

Do you think he is running for office?

Hmmm . . . how did that election work out for Vice President Palin?

What are hungry people in comparison to letting Donnie bask in the glory of making it look like he did something praiseworthy toward getting money to unemployed people? Absolutely nothing. Donnie is always first, to Donnie. He’s happy to be praised for stuff he didn’t do.

  14. weakgrip says:

Banks are allowed to garnish these checks for outstanding debt. Mnuchin was specifically told this should not happen. It is being done. It is Mnuchin’s fault. With a new treasury sec in 2021 the first paper currency that should be retired should be the ones with his signature. Wipe him from history.

Since Congress voted this money, I would prefer a Pelosi check.

We’re now officially through the looking glass.
I’ve been keeping an eye on FOX to see how they’re spinning Trump’s mishandling of this mess. And Jake Tapper didn’t.

He called Trump out on the delay of the checks BUT at the same time, there was a banner on the bottom of the screen claiming that the IRS is denying the delay will occur.

Well, we’re at least edging up on the looking glass but, FOX is still trying to have it both ways.

I really, really like the suggestion I saw that said something lik “If Trump’s name goes on the check, it also goes on the CV death certificates”

  18. Texas Expat in CA says:

His name should also be on all the pink slips, foreclosures, bankruptcies, etc. etc. He always tries to claim the good news but won’t take responsibility for ANY bad news, even if it’s obvious he directly caused it!

I hurriedly signed up on the IRS website with my direct deposit
info so as not to have to see his scrawl on the check.

  20. treehugger says:

Where his signature SHOULD be appearing is on every single death certificate of every person who has died in this country of COVID. A month or two after my father, who served proudly 30 years in the USAF, passed away last year, I received a certificate from the VA honoring his service. Signed by Trump. I cannot even bring myself to look at it. WTH does that man know about service to anyone but himself. It’s insulting.
