Attorney General William Barr has agreed to give testimony before the House Judiciary Committee next month amid growing questions over the administration’s alleged interference in the criminal case of a close ally of President Trump.

The Judiciary Committee has become concerned about Trump’s interference in the Stone case and why the hell Rudy Giuliani reports directly to Barr about Giuliani’s own private investigations.

Oh Lord, it’s Jim Jordan, Louie Gohmert, and Matt Gaetz – we’re all gonna die.

Democrats need to let Zoe Lufgren take over as chairman of the committee.  Jerry Nadler is a nice guy but he has way too much on his plate right now.

  1. Yeah there definitely needs to be someone in charge who’s willing to stomp on repugnantcans when they start their inevitable yelling down/over Democrats. To the point of ejecting them. I didn’t see enough of Nadler’s hearings to know how he holds up in that department.

  2. Date given is March 31
Between bogus claims of executive priveledge.
Claim that ag cannot comment on ongoing cases.
Demand on restrictions of subjects and questions that the d’s can ask.
    Outright lies.
    Refusal to testify under oath.
Accusations of bad faith by d’s
The further damage they will do between then and now, coupled with gish gallops by barr and thuglican enablers this hearing, if it ever does occur, it will be nothing more then a pr stunt on the same level as the lewendisky testimony.
    Just another bad joke.

  3. Jim Jorden? You mean this Jim Jorden?

Adam DiSabato told state lawmakers that Rep. Jim Jordan personally pleaded with him to intercede after his brother, Mike DiSabato, publicly accused Jordan of turning a blind eye to the sexual abuse of male wrestlers by team Dr. Richard Strauss.

“Jim Jordan called me crying, crying, groveling, on the Fourth of July…begging me to go against my brother, begging me, crying for half an hour,” Adam DiSabato said at the hearing.

Trump Quietly Slashed Pay Raise for Federal Workers a Day Before Claiming US Economy Is Best ‘In History’
Edit: ”This is just the latest action in Donald Trump’s war on civil servants.”

President Donald Trump this week quietly took steps to slash a scheduled pay raise for millions of federal workers from 2.5% to 1% due to supposed concerns about “keeping the nation on a fiscally sustainable course.”
“I have determined that for 2021 the across-the-board base pay increase will be limited to 1.0%,” Trump said in a message to Congress on Monday. “This alternative pay plan decision will not materially affect our ability to attract and retain a well‑qualified federal workforce.

“For an administration that has added $3 trillion to the federal debt, gouging federal employee pay and benefits in the name of deficit reduction is ridiculous.”
—Tony Reardon, National Treasury Employees Union.

The president’s proposed “adjustment” to the scheduled pay raise will take effect in January 2021 unless Congress passes legislation to override the change. Just a day after his message to Congress, Trump tweeted, “BEST USA ECONOMY IN HISTORY!”

Critics highlighted the disconnect between the president’s justification for cutting the planned raise for federal workers and his boasts about the state of the U.S. economy.
“Trump claimed we had the ‘BEST USA ECONOMY IN HISTORY’ and cited ‘serious economic conditions affecting the general welfare’ to justify limiting pay increases for federal workers,” tweeted Rep. Steve Cohen (D-Tenn.). “These are contradicting claims. They can’t both be true.”

“Even more absurdly, Trump is justifying ordering the cut on the grounds that the country is in the midst of a ‘national emergency or serious economic conditions affecting the general welfare,’ which the White House says authorizes the president to ‘implement alternative plans for pay adjustments,'” Hannon added. “So which is it? The best economy in the history of economies or a national economic emergency? Either way, somebody’s lying.”

  6. Can Kamala Harris please sit in and ask questions? Pretty please???

    7
  7. Either way “somebody” is always lying.

So, has AG Barr agreed to testify under oath? If not, it’s all pointless. Sure, it’s against the law to lie to Congress, under oath or not–but at this point Trump and Barr ARE the law, and there will be no consequences for lying. Please, can we impeach Barr?

Also, yes–let Zoe Lufgren handle this. We need somebody with a spine of steel and an obvious distaste for Republican prevarication, not Nadler. He’s a nice, smart guy; but we don’t need a nice guy right now, in that post.

  9. Nadler’s “plate” includes his sick wife. He is obviously concerned for her.

Zoe is a terrific person as well as a terrific Member of Congress. She looks grandmotherly but she sure as hell won’t let anyone get away with anything – just like a grandmother.

  10. He either will not appear or just LIE UNDER OATH .
