  1. Jane & PKM says:

Oh yeah. That’s the stuff. Bring back the 50s. Might excite the boomers, if it doesn’t cause them to crawl under a piece of furniture. To be fair that type ad did work against Barry Goldwater … in ’64.

C’mon. There are plenty of example counter example opportunities with living color and technology from today dating back to the hideous day Orange Foolius* blobbed on down his escalator.

Really Mike? Recycled Dubya to convince voters you are not what you are. Just another Republicon scared too witless to run as what you are. No thanks.

  2. It is time to admit that one more bandage will not fix the problems.
    The experiment has failed.
To correct the excesses of the thuglican destruction would require that a new administration takes similar actions thus reinforcing the idea that both sides do it.
How can anyone expect progress with a thuglican judiciary sworn to follow ignorant thuglican ideology and protect their paymasters at any cost.
How can salvation of the system be expected when those that hold the keys are sworn to obstruct.
How can anyone expect a military addicted to immunity, cruelty and the philosophy that might makes right no matter the human cost or laws.
Criminals are in positions of power. Moles are being planted through out the government whose oath is to greed and bigotry and sworn to subvert any forward movement.
It is time to start thinking about new structure of government because this one is so undermined by traitors, thugs and crooks that it cannot be redeemed.
Be sure that the other side has been pursuing this corruption since at least tricky dick.
Their is NO decency on the thuglican side. Money and the power it buys are its only guiding principles.
So rearrange the deck chairs with a thuglican lite who will only rearrange the deck chairs, as long as it doesn’t upset their political paymasters.
Make us a oligarchy where only billionaires are allowed to govern.
Elect another billionaire who has shown bigotry and qmisogny just because he is our’s and not theirs even if policies won’t change.
Even the nomination of bloomberg would be an acknowledgement of the failure of the american experiment and the deification of wealth as the highest, and only, standard that leaders can be judged on.
Instead of elections why not just open it up for bid because that is all bloomberg has is money.
He bought the NY mayoralty, he bought a change in charter for a previously illegal 3rd term.
Now he is buying the d party.
I certainly hope that those why cooperate with this abomination get more then 30 pieces of silver.

  3. Let’s hope voters remember what Presidential sounded like. How Presidents conducted themselves before January 2017. And that they miss it.

Make The President A President Again

    3
  4. funny, i was JUST about to muse in the comments beneath the biden rant that instead of shedding tears for biden, i would have expected you to start jocking for bloomberg.

and here you are, right on time!

after all, if we want to beat a corrupt, racist billionaire with autocratic tendencies, who better to nominate than a corrupt, racist billionaire with autocratic tendencies?! at least we know it’s a winning formula.

    yeah!

  5. Jane & PKM, did you watch the ad or merely react to Bush’s picture? Personally, I thought it was pretty powerful.

    5
  6. oh yeah the the twit of signing statements and unending war as a result of incompetence in preventing terrorism not to mention his promotion of the unitary executive theory.
Or addled ronnie raygun who killed so much such as fairness doctrine and allowing undesirable aliens ( murdock and moon) to buy media and shape the opinions that gave us demented donnie.
or perjurer poppa whose ag barr is completing the destruction now that he helped along with his policy of promoting pardons for those who might testify to perjurer poppa’s crimes.
hell why didn’t he just add tricky dick saying if a president does it it isn’t a crime.
As far as bloomberg is concerned he has the money now he can buy the power.

  7. At this point if Bloomberg is the Democratic candidate for prez, I’ll still vote Blue. ANY blue candidate is better than Trump. I happen to like some of the ads Mike has on the tube. I’m looking forward to seeing the Sanders, etc. ads.

    7
  8. Jane & PKM says:

AK Lynne we watched it, separately, then together to consult on whether we saw what we thought we saw and was it really that bad. Stuff that was shoved down our throats in history books doesn’t acquire a better flavor with time.

Maybe it is time for PACs to add cartoonists on staff to keep the political consultants on track. Ads need to be harder hitting, and fast. When MS JJ posts the Friday toons, note which ones jump out and why. Donnie* and his band of thieves provide plenty of material, so Democratic candidates can do this.

We’ll be going to Las Vegas next week. Trying to understand why a fiery speaker like Senator Warren isn’t catching on fire ahead of our caucus and the convention. Dawg help us all, if she’s found her own Jennifer Palmieri.

    8
  9. Ralph Wiggam says:

According to an analyst at Electoral-vote.com, “something like 70% of the Democratic electorate is open to a non-Sanders candidate if an acceptable one is available.” I already voted by mail (Thanks J.J. and Glen Maxey!) and I’m in that 70%.

    9
  10. Jane & PKM says:

We’re hoping for a little fun at the debate next week. Maybe Senator Sanders explaining life to Bloomberg: “Mayor of New York, eh? So wasn’t Rudy. Next.”

Mr. Wiggam @9 are we reading that correctly? A replacement for Bernie???!!! wth He’s leading. Did they perhaps mean Biden?
Or, more runners in “the non-Sanders” lane where Senator Klobuchar is doing just fine. Odd. Thought the whole process was winnowing the field to the best candidate; not air dropping in Wall Street requests.

    10
  11. Ralph Wiggam says:

Jane and PKM, Bernie would be a lot more popular among Democrats if he were a Democrat.

    11
  12. Bottom line is that any one in a fair and honest election should beat demented donnie.
Period. No ifs, ands or buts.
The only reason one should argue “mythical” electability is that one accepts that our elections are more crooked more then a dogs hind leg.
Combined with an group of deplorables to give a touch of legitimacy to the vote count.
If that is what we are accepting to happen, the argument of electability is as absurd as arguing about who could beat putin, or assad or China’s leader in their elections.
The fact that the country is arguing a repeated turncoat ( first a D then an R and now a D again) whose only notable accomplishment is amassing great wealth and buying the mayoralty of NYC show just how far down the rabbit hole we have gone.
As for those who would nitpick Bernie for his party affiliation means that they disqualify bloomberg for the same reason plus ignore the fact that bloomberg supported the twit and his strategy of swift boating kerry.
Bernie never supported a thuglican running for president.
Bernie never used police against minority communities.
Bernie never used taxes from the middle class to give corporate welfare to the 1%.
I am a Warren supporter but the hypocrisy of arguing Bernie shouldn’t get nomination because he has worked for the public good under a party title that is in line with the D agenda while claiming that bloomberg uses whatever party line he could is for sale is repugnant.
I guess no one should ever allow anyone who has worked to get the nomination from the Minnesota Farmer–Labor Party should be disqualified as well not to mention the third parties in NY since that means they are not a pure d. Green party shouldn’t even be allowed to speak to D candidates since that would sully their purity.
I guess Bernie isn’t a pure d like liarman, or phil graham or so many other deserters and quislings.

If the US has even a semblance of an honest electoral system even, as biden said, mickey mouse should beat him.

    12
  13. Reagan RF’d the 1978 election by encouraging Iran to keep the hostages and later sold them stinger missiles in order to finance the murder of nuns and thousands of others in Central America. G Bush is personally responsible for the deaths of 100’s of thousands of people and the 911 attacks. And these are the guys Bloomberg compares himself to.

    13
  14. Theresa Bowers says:

I see that the hired guns of the GOP are here in force to do what they do best, namely smear, muddy, and vomit all over any and all Democrat candidates. “At last, have they no shame?”

  15. Better, is Caitlin Johnstone’s: The Belief That Everything Will Be Fine Once Trump’s Gone Is More Dangerous Than Trump

Seriously, Jefe… Bloomburg? Really? That’s the best you got? (Of course the video is slick…he can afford the best hired guns in the business… See the Intercept covering the way Bloomburg is hiring so many political operatives that state and local campaigns are starved for personnel https://theintercept.com/2020/02/13/bloomberg-spending-local-state-campaigns/)
