Texas Democratic Party Convention

We got to Dallas at about 4:00, beating the rain.

We check into the hotel.  It’s fancy.  The view out our window.

 

We went to check on the amazing staff of the Texas Democratic Party.   They were getting stuff done.

We went to have dinner with Glen.  No pictures.  Bubba joined the County Chair Association because he’s a county chair now.  We walked around talking to people we adore but don’t get to see often enough.

Tomorrow is the platform committee meeting followed by the State Democratic Executive Committee meeting.  The convention starts on Friday.

I’ll keep you updated.  It’s gonna be fun.  I am told there will be cowbells involved.

    Enjoy! Just came from hearing Wendy, Leticia, Cecelia, Kirk, Senfronia, Jessica and others speak at the Austin rally celebrating the anniversary of the “unruly mob.” It was great! Lots and lots of orange! Saw a t-shirt I want, which said “Proud member of the original unruly mob, June 25, 2013.” Oh, and my friend and I — who were in the well-behaved line outside the door to the senate gallery a year ago just before Dewhurst and company took actions that resulted in the “unruly mob” — went to Shady Grove for dinner afterwards. I had the Hippie Sandwich. Love living in Austin!

    Wasn’t that girl who sang the Star Spangled Banner simply breathtaking?

    Unfortunately, by the time it got started, I had to leave for another meeting I needed to be at across the street. I did get to see Kirk up close. He was great.

    Funny,I went to Spencer,iowa with Glen yesterday. He saved me from hitting a deer with my eagle walloping Jeep Grand Cherokee. Small world ain’t it?
