Texas Congressvarmints! For Sale or Lease!

January 26, 2022 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, it’s not everyday that I can tell you about two Texas Republican (cringing already, eh?) Congressman making money out the backdoor. And, lucky for really, really rich people, they are from districts close enough to rub elbows.

First up: Dan Crenshaw (think eye patch guy from the Houston metro area) spouts off on Twitter and then dashes to his checkbook to make money doing the exact same thing he just smashed on Twitter.

For example, here ya go. On November 29, 2021 Crenshaw attacked Secretary Pete Buttigieg as being out of touch for promoting electric vehicles. But, I’ll be damned if he didn’t make five separate transactions in Tesla stock earlier that month.

Then to finish out the year on a tidal wave of double talk, on December 13, 2021 Crenshaw sent out a tweet attacking Democrats for providing tax incentives for the purchase of electric vehicles. The very next day, he bought stock in Rivian.

Crenshaw is on the House Energy and Commerce Committee, which has jurisdiction over legislation affecting electric vehicles, while he trades their stock. That just don’t seem right.

And in the #2 spot, we have My own congresscreep, Troy Nehls, who is the only man I know who can strut sitting down.  Buy, hey, you gotta give him credit for asking around with a haircut that makes him look like Baby Huey.

So he’s got the attention of the FEC. Bless his heart, he thinks secret people can funnel money into his campaign if he just lists the conduit instead of the donors. That would be like if Act Blue collects money for me and then I only list Act Blue as the donor and refuse to let you see that my donors are actually the entire front line of the Green Bay Packers, which automatically disqualifies me to hold any office of public trust in Texas.

I was kinda hoping Louie Gohmert would do something outrageous today so I could have a threesome, but the day is young and Louie has several more hours of daylight to chop cotton and the English language.

Don’t you think teddy C will feel slighted that you didn’t include him? A foursome is better than three, I mean worse.

Ms. JJ, in honor of the fast approaching Feb 2 Groundhog Day, maybe you should give poor Louie a shoutout along the lines of if a woodchuck could chuck wood. Only in Louie’s instance if a word salad shooter could actually chuck salad, Louie would only pee in the vinaigrette. Seriously. How is the poor guy to compete with the likes of MAGAt Empty Greene and the rest of the Qcumber caucus when the poor guy receives a mere pittance of an allowance from Koch? Louie the former penultimate Tea Bagger wrung dry by rebranding and big money neglect. Alas, poor Louie.

Could you use a Georgian? Empty Greene owns stock in Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson & Johnson while continuing to denounce vaccines. When that became known I really thought there would be more of a fuss, but hypocrisy doesn’t even jog the needle anymore.

On a recent Liberal Redneck post on YouTube, titled “Biden ‘Attacks the Press,'” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxu3aeB2z2k) Trae closes with some great insults he’d like to see hurled at Rethugs, ending with “Call Louie Gohmert a thumb!” I don’t know why, but that really tickles me.

  7. Sorry, not sorry, to hear about ex-sheriff Nehls. He is my very own congress critter, sadly, and am sorry to say he’s quite beloved here in my neighborhood. Also unfortunately, his identical twin, Trever, is running to replace the lovely K.P. George as Fort Bend County Judge (for non-Texans, a County Judge isn’t actually a judge, more like a county executive). I think Judge George, an Indian-American, has been doing a great job, and hope the bubba vote is outvoted by the Asian-American vote plus the vote of all other sensible people.

Crenshaw has been sending out voter registrations after Texas outlawed them?

    Anybody know anymore about this?

  9. e platypus onion @8, Here ya go epo. I’ve been meaning to post it but have just been too effin busy so far.
Hell, it’s just more gd IOKIYAR hypocrisy; WTF do y’all expect…

U.S. Rep. Dan Crenshaw sends mail-in ballot applications to voters after Texas banned the practice for local election officials:
    https://www.texastribune.org/2022/01/26/dan-crenshaw-texas-mail-in-ballot-voting-law/

“The GOP-backed voting law — passed under the banner of ensuring election integrity — banned local election officials from sending out unsolicited mail-in ballot applications. But Crenshaw and other politicians can still do it….”

  10. You might look for big politician corruption at the county level.
What is unsaid but obvious in this article is that Ford Bend County Commissioners have been bought off by a private developer to the detriment of county citizens.
A major intersection greatly increasing the value of land for years has been planned for land owned by the George Foundation. With no announcement the Commissioners have moved it to private land for a big pockets developer. How much the Commissioners were paid off is an open question with no one talking.

Well, if no one is talking, you have to find the paperwork. The Chronicle did some of it for you. They found Judge George, Grady Prestige, and Vincent Morales were taking developer money. Obviously, the deep pocket donor can count to three and two Democrats and one Republican make it look bipartisan when the vote is taken. Andy Meyers is the biggest pig of them all at the farm but he quit governing years ago and just votes opposite of how Prestage votes. And, I doubt they knew to check Ken DeMerchant’s wife’s campaign report because that’s where most of his campaign money ends up anyway. Maybe he’s just having them write the checks to her. (I’ll check this weekend when I have time.)
