Hell Freezes Over

A Republican group, Republicans for the Rule of Law, is running this ad on FOX NEWS:

In a statement to Newsweek, the group’s executive director, Sarah Longwell, said “It’s clear from the report today that there’s a lot of political interference that was attempted [by Trump]. This is not the end of the Mueller investigation, this is just the beginning. It looks like the Mueller report really is a road map for Congress. And that there was no exoneration, definitely obstruction.”

The group was started in 2017 when Trump threatened to fire Robert Mueller.  It claims to be a group of life-long Republicans “dedicated to defending the institutions of our republic and upholding the rule of law.”

The ad, the group says, is intended to motivate Republican lawmakers to finally begin speaking out against Trump’s lawlessness.  When Republicans begin calling for the rule of law against Trump’s assault on our republic, Hell has truly froze over.

Sarah Sanders Admitted to Mueller that She Lied to the Public

You’ll recall that way back in 2017 when Trump fired James Comey, Sarah Sanders, White House Liar, stood at the briefing room podium and told the American people that the FBI under Comey had been in turmoil and that “countless FBI agents” had called and told the White House how unhappy they were under Comey.  She later admitted that her statement “wasn’t based on anything”.  In other words, she stood in the White House briefing room and knowingly lied to the American people to protect Trump.

The Actual Reason Mueller Didn’t Indict

April 18, 2019 By: El Jefe Category: Mueller, Trump

Pages 1 & 2 of Volume II of the Mueller report tells it all.  In those pages, Mueller talks about the DOJ’s policy that a sitting president cannot be indicted.  Mueller is very careful to explain that he’s not recommending indictment because Trump’s not guilty (he most certainly is); he’s not recommending indictment because DOJ CAN’T indict, and due to that fact, a public assertion of guilt cannot be defended in court because there cannot be an indictment.  He even goes so far to say that even a sealed indictment is not practical due to the danger of leaking of that indictment.

So, it’s clear that Trump is guilty of obstruction; it’s also clear that to protect his civil rights, Mueller has declined to recommend indictment and has tossed the responsibility to the Congress (which won’t do anything, of course).

Uh…

Well, We’ve Learned One Thing…

April 18, 2019 By: El Jefe Category: Mueller, Trump

The Mueller Report just hit the public and MSNBC is frantically going through it.  While doing that, one thing has become crystal clear, and that is Bill Barr, the AG of the US, is a goddam liar.  AND, he’s a goddam liar on national television.  As they read Mueller’s words, it’s clear there was a LOT of evidence of collusion with Russians and obstruction of justice.  During his remarks this morning, I noticed that while lying, Barr was very careful to talk about collusion with the Russian GOVERNMENT, not Russians themselves.  This will only get uglier as the day wears on.

Yesterday’s Quotes

April 16, 2019 By: El Jefe Category: Trump

As Notre Dame cathedral burned yesterday in Paris, leaders around the world spoke from the heart about the tragedy.  Here are a few:

“Notre Dame is one of the world’s great treasures, and we’re thinking of the people of France in your time of grief. It’s in our nature to mourn when we see history lost – but it’s also in our nature to rebuild for tomorrow, as strong as we can.” – Barack Obama

“Notre Dame of Paris in flames. Emotion for a whole nation. Thoughts for all Catholics and for all French. Like all our countrymen, I’m sad tonight to see this part of us burn.” – French President Emmanuel Macron

“The burning of the Notre Dame cathedral has again made us aware that we are bound by something more important and more profound than treaties. Today, we understand better the essence of that, which is common, we know how much we can lose. And that we want to defend it – together.” – EU President Donald Tusk

“To the people of France, I would like to say that Notre Dame Cathedral was like a gift to the human race. We share in the pain but we also thank you for this gift to civilization.” – Mayor of South Bend Indiana Pete Buttigieg (spoken in French)

And then, there was this:

“It is one of the great treasures of the world. The greatest artists in the world. Probably, if you think about it, I would say it might be greater than almost any museum in the world and it’s burning very badly. Looks like it’s burning to the ground.  That is beyond countries, that is beyond anything. That is a part of our growing up. It’s a part of our culture. It’s a part of our lives. That’s a truly great cathedral. I have been there, I have seen it. It’s a terrible scene.  They think it was caused by, at this moment they don’t know, but they think it was caused by renovation. I hope that’s the reason. Renovation, what’s that all about? It’s a terrible sight to behold.” – Donald Trump, Babbler in Chief

To make matters worse, Trump had earlier Tweeted his advice for fighting the fire:

“So horrible to watch the massive fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Perhaps flying water tankers could be used to put it out. Must act quickly!” – Twitterfingers

This advice was so stupid that the Civil Defense Agency of France actually responded:

“The drop of water by air on this type of building could result in the collapse of the entire structure along with the firefighters who are currently doing their best to save Notre Dame.” – Sécurité Civile France

Trump simply cannot stand any event occurring anywhere in the world that might divert attention from himself even if that attention shows him for the idiot that he is.
