Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
It seems the world is bent on violence, whether with fists, knives, handguns, rifles, shotguns, human bombs, or drones. I agree with your prayer, we need help.
1Scary part is they are CLUELESS as to who did the shooting~sorry for America’s gun fetish.
2Just read this story in sheer disbelief. Just when you think it can’t get any worse . . .
I wonder what “solution” Ol’ Wayne LaP will come up with for this.
3NRA’s LaPierre will now be promoting that there be a gun attached to every fire hydrant in America. But why stop there? Guns should also be issued to every child born in a hospital. All shopping carts should have a gun attached for the safety and security of the Shopper. Oh, and every pew in America should have at least one gun provided for the use of the parishioners. You gotta be freakin’ kidding me!
4Modern science needs to find a way to surgically implant guns into the forearms of every American citizen. At birth, if not before (should make the deliveries interesting).
The truth is that Newtown was the tip of the iceberg for gun violence. We are on track by 2015 for gun deaths to outnumber auto accident deaths. The difference is that since Newtown the media is making it a story. Let’s hope they keep it up this time so maybe something will actually get done.
5Is it the season? Stunned.
6@LynnN: I sometimes get that “more people are killed in cars” excuse from gun defenders, but then I ask them to compare “uses for cars” with “uses for guns.” They usually don’t get it…
7If you carry a weapon you are not allowed in my house. Period
8End of conversation.
LynnN, every time I hear the comparison of vehicle and gun deaths, I want to hear how many 1st and 2nd degree murders are committed by people using vehicles vs people using guns.
I’m just waiting to see the usual nuts saying these shootings are done by liberals so they can ban guns.
9No doubt that more guns would have prevented this tragedy. I hope we see enough lawsuits against the NRA and Gun Owners of America that both groups sink back into the muck they came out of. It’ll be interesting to watch the devolvement of these groups. The first sign of the end was LaPierre’s debacle on Meet the Press. the second will be FOX commercials.
10Sounds like someone had something to hide and didn’t want the pyrotechnics disrupted! Like that precios threesome in Indiana that blew up a neighborhood looking for an insurance payout!
11Remember the story about mud-wrestling with a pig? The pig loves it and you just get dirty.
If we get into an arms race with crazy people, they will just love it, and we will just get bloody.
12@Jose;
All true: Many years ago, in another life, I was involved with a few actual working artists (making-a-living) and we came up with an idea to run the craziest of the lot for Mayor as a very public prank. IOW, we never expected to win. A major part of his platform would be the issuance of personal firearms to every newborn in the city. Of course, we were intending to create a ridiculous and satirical performance piece. Looks like we were just somewhat ahead of the curve. May you live in interesting times.
13“[Police Chief]Pickering says that the suspected shooter was found dead near the property where the fire began, and that there is no longer a threat to the area. No other details about the suspect have been released.”
In addition he seems to have died of gun shot wounds.
I’ve a niece and nephew, with children, who live in Webster, this did get my attention this AM

15Think of all the mass murderers and other loco hombres who have “Wayne” in their name — usually the middle name. And of course the last name La Pierre is French for “the rock” but when used as a name, “the Peter”. So we have Wayne the Peter. Not too far off the mark now is it?
Yes, my wife did most of the thinking on this one, I just handled the translation.
16Bullet proof vests and Uzis.
17Go to what we would have called the five and dime back when. Find the toy guns. Turn them over. See if the label on the back says FOR ADULTS ONLY. They will be in with children’s toys.
18Too many people in this country appear to be snorting gunpowder which is clouding their ability to think clearly and to use common sense in gun control. There is no excuse for citizens arming themselves with assault weapons nor is there any justification for gun makers to donate $1.00 to the NRA for every gun sold and every box of ammunition sold!
