What Now, Ole Wayne? Do the Police Need an Armed Guard?

Houston, Texas

A Bellaire police officer and an innocent bystander were shot and killed by a suspect in a southwest Houston parking lot Monday, officials said.

Investigators said Cpl. Jimmie Norman, 53, was chasing a suspect when they drove into the parking lot of a Maaco body shop at 5611 Bellaire Blvd. at Alder at 8:55 a.m. Witnesses said the suspect got out of his vehicle and began firing shots.

“The guy stands up out the car and just starts shooting. The gunshots continued even as I ran off. After the first 10, I was thinking, ‘What kind of gun does this guy have?'” witness Stephanie Pacheco said.

The officer was hit, police said, and the suspect continued shooting. A man who walked out of the auto shop was then shot at close range. He died at the scene. He was an employee of the shop.

Norman was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died a short time later. He did not exchange gunfire with the suspect as originally thought, HPD said.

“The saddest thing is that (Officer Norman) didn’t even get an opportunity to pull his weapon and defend himself. That’s how fast it all happened,” said John Cannon with the Houston Police Department.

It’s Christmas Eve, Wayne.

I really don’t know what else to say.  Except, tell me when enough is enough, Wayne.

  1. Merry Christmas Wayne LePierre! And what’s under the tree for you this year? Why it’s the 1st Amendment, to go along with your 2nd Amendment. A matching set! Nothing like freedom of the press to report how your failed, crackpot interpretation of the 2nd Amendment is a complete failure. The 1st Amendment, the gift that keeps on giving us the truth. Too often, thanks to you Wayne, the sad, bitter truth.

  2. I’m grateful the press is reporting all of this, and I hope they’ll keep right on making a big thing of it until we have a law that will at least slow some of it down.

I understand LePierre invited us to call him crazy…count me in!

Hey, Wayne, you’re CRAZY! My heart goes out to the victims’ families, and to the families of the firefighters in NY as well.

  4. Another shooting, but this one sounds like it started with a person not wanting to get pulled over. Read more…

  5. But…read the comments to the story. I don’t think Crazy (yes, you are) Wayne LaPeter has that many sockpuppets to make that many comments that sound just like the drivel he spouts. His armed minions have learned well, apparently…

Truly frightening. Please stay safe, all you sane Texans.

  6. Yes, Wayne, you ARE crazy!! This is surreal–when, oh when will this lunacy end?!

  7. I’m thinking folks have just gone totally nuts. It’s time for body armor and tinfoil hats. Good Lord, deliver us!

  8. And two volunteer firefighters killed yesterday in NY.

May No one have mercy on your soul.

LaPierre should be the first one locked up in a mental facility. How much do they pay that fool? Crazy? Is there any doubt?

  10. Sam in Kyle says:

The saddest part is reading comments by the trolls that use stories like this to pounce on anyone supporting regulation of guns. “The shooter was an illegal alien, it’s the fault of ‘libtard’ Democrats, it’s Obama’s fault”.

These idiots make me wonder just how much hope there is until we can get them out of their parent’s basement and back to work at McDonalds.

  11. My husband sent me something he found on Facebook– a photo of LaPierre captioned, “Q: How many NRA spokesmen does it take the change a lightbulb? A: More guns.”

    11
  12. Take TO change a lightbulb, sorry.

Oh, and it seems that Wayne Wayne the Peter told a bit of a fib when he said that putting armed guards in Israeli schools stopped school shootings.

Just another case of a right-wing nutcase selecting “facts” that APPEAR to support the case at hand but, upon closer examination, contradict it.

I doubt the man would know the truth if it smacked him upside his head.

  15. Anyone read up on Columbine lately? Eric Harris & Dylan Klebold, both minors, didn’t get their guns from home like the kid in Newtown. A young woman friend (18) went with them to a gun show & bought the shotguns & semi-auto rifle – long guns – for them, which was legal in 1999 despite the Assault Weapon Ban of 1994. Another man went to jail for 6 years for buying 9 mm pistols & all the ammo for them.

Columbine had 2 security officers on duty – one was armed – who were sitting in the car eating lunch when the boys set the home-made bombs in the cafeteria & first began shooting. Looking at the maps of that school, it would take at least a dozen armed officers to cover that school & the kids would still figure out a way around them.

Interesting little tidbit — The Newtown shooter dreamed of becoming a Marine & had posters of military equipment all over the basement room. His mother quashed that idea because he couldn’t stand to be touched. Well… Eric Harris dreamed of becoming a Marine, too, but was told he was ineligible because of anti-depressants.

Maybe Wayne can get the Marines to do his bidding & place all the returning combat troops in the nation’s schools.

  16. Just sayin’ … the Newtown shooter’s mother grew up around guns & was excited to get him guns & teach him how to shoot. She was also excited about him becoming a Marine until she thought about it further & realized it wouldn’t work because he couldn’t stand to be touched – not because he was a delusional socio/psychopath. She was just as delusional as an enabler, but got in the way. What I can’t figure out is why he chose to kill 6 yr olds instead of 16 yr olds, but apparently there is one game where the first-person shooter goes into a school & shoots little kids.

Wayne is & isn’t crazy – his idea is crazy, but he just wants to keep his gun maker employers happy to keep his high salary. I’d like to give him the back of both my hands at least twice every day of the week.
