In addition to all the usual threats faced that you mentioned, there’s one most are unaware of, in South Texas [and elsewhere]: there is a very real threat from the drug cartels. Which has even extended to family members [of kidnap, violence, etc]; particularly in the Valley, at the South Padre Island and Brownsville stations.
