Remember This Guy? Well, He’s Nasty. Real Nasty.
This is United States Congressman Clay Higgins, Louisiana’s answer to Louie Gohmert.
He came to a congressional hearing dressed like he was late to be groomsman at a hillbilly wedding.
And he said that he didn’t know who Michael Cohen was until last week. And he didn’t have any smart questions. And, considering that he consumed several beers during one teevee interview, he may well have been drunk.
He’s an ex-cop and says he’s all law and order, claiming he has arrested “thousands of men.”
Well, he forgot one. His congressional aide was arrested on human trafficking charges. District Director Jerod Prunty and his lady friend were apparently running several massage parlors where they messaged in all the right places.
Prunty’s arrest was the result of an expansive, 17-month long investigation undertaken by the Lafayette Sheriff’s Department. “Deputies served warrants at five massage parlors and three residences in a coordinated sting on Feb. 12, (Sheriff Mark) Garber said,” according to The Daily Advertiser. “The raid was the result of the first phase of the investigation, he said, and it’s not over.”
They seized $50,000 in cash and several cars.
Now you’d think an ex-cop would ask someone if they dabbled in human trafficking before hiring them to work in congress. Yeah, apparently he was drunk then, too.
Thanks to Quaker Granny for the heads up.
How did right wingers decide that being ignorant about everything is a point of pride or a virtue? Is it just to pretend they were “one with” the uneducated/low educated victims they target or are they truly intellectually constipated in real life? Curious minds like to know.

He probably met his campaign manager through earlier business dealings, if you know what I mean. So he knew their business values, or value in this case. All he then needed to know was how intolerant this Jerod was, and some assumptions may be claimed when it comes to someone who deals in human trafficking. So, greed and intolerance; the conservative values.
By the way, if Robert Kraft had sex with someone who was forced into the act why is this not rape?
2And then there’s this one who could be the soul mate and cloned twin to Higgins. People elect them. Why?

3This story is just one more example why it is that Louisiana is referred to as the northernmost banana republic.
4It takes real effort to make Louie look smart.
5“first phase of the investigation, he said, and it’s not over.”
6What are the odds that it’ll turn out that ole Clay has a reserved massage table at one of those establishments?
republican family values?
7Ted @2: “By the way, if Robert Kraft had sex with someone who was forced into the act why is this not rape?”
Easy, this is why they use trafficked women from Asia. Even if they have been removed from the “massage parlors” here in the U.S., the owners and triads that run them still can threaten the families back in Asia. So if one of the victims looks like they are going to testify that it was non-consensual, they get frantic messages from the family back in China/Korea/Vietnam about thugs coming to the house and threatening parents, children, and any relatives or friends of the victims.
The women cannot escape being convicted for prostitution, but their lives and those of their families are on the line if they say anything about being forced into it.
It doesn’t help that we now have an administration that thinks anyone not from a northern European country is a Bad Person (TM), and must be kicked out of the country immediately. Preferably before they can testify about the GOP Good Old Boy’s side businesses.
It’s an ugly situation, and having local politicians and wealthy people running interference for the pimps and panderers makes it even uglier.
8Way back on 27Feb, right here on TWMDBS, I singled out this slimy Rescummie Rep as IMO the worst one in the whole Cohen (public) House proceeding.
When he started slyly alluding to his LEO background (numerous times), while at the same time pulling out every hypocritical trope they have defending Individual-1, he went right to the top of my ‘worst yet’ list.
“For the Rethugs, I think that the slimiest (so far) were Jordan, Higgins, Foxx, Hice, Norman, Cloud (shaking w/rage?), and Green. Higgins the worst, IMO.”
