Quietly Waiting on Rick Miller’s Staff

March 08, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I told you last week about my own damn personal State Representative, Rick Miller, who wrote and introduced a bill wanting the State of Texas to do away with local ordinances protecting gay rights.  It was kinda weird because his son is a highly respected Houston lawyer and gay rights activist.  He is also a proud gay man.

When stuff like this happens, it is almost always followed by something like this.

Screen Shot 2015-03-08 at 1.07.20 PMFamily Research Council BFF and US House Rep. Tim Huelskamp is best known around here for his attempts to block marriage equality and LGBT rights. But the “family rights” advocate now has a major in-house problem. Via Topeka’s CBS affiliate:

A staffer for a Kansas congressman is in jail charged with 17 counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Matthew P. Pennell was arrested on Thursday. Pennell was arrested following an investigation by the Dodge City Police Department and members of the Internet Crimes Against Children task force.

There are two lessons here.  (1) Quit being mean, and (2) Don’t be cocky.  There’s probably three lessons to be learned but you’ll have to ask Rick Perry what the third one is.

I take comfort in knowing that any day now something perverted will come out of Rick Miller’s office or close friends.  Overly self-righteous people are always hiding something.  It usually their low IQ’s but many times it’s their winkies.

Thanks to Brian for the heads up.

  1. I always assume that people who make a big public display of their religiosity and claim to be the arbiters in matters of morality are trying to hide something.

Reminds me of the “good Christian” people of my childhood who did not want to their children to play with me because of my Mother being divorced. The husband/father’s of my friends had no problem with dropping by at odd hours to see if my pretty Mom “needed” anything, but they didn’t want their children to be contaminated by “loose morals” that we must have had. (Or so they hoped) Nasty, nasty people—no self awareness and judgments that were so thick…sigh.
My best friend’s parents said they would not attend her wedding if I were her maid of honor. She said she would miss them. Like all bullies, they caved when called on their BS. The best part was standing next to them while people remarked on what a lovely young woman I was and watching them choke while they “had” to agree–while in the receiving line.
I can’t wait till the rest of the Repugs choke as well. Public servants, my a**.

I’m so glad you got to see them choke and I, too, would like to see the self-righteous Repugnants choke on prime time TV.
Exposing the KKKristians is a public service, especially when they harm and exploit children.

I owe wingnuts a huge apology. For years I’ve been saying they have no use for a fetus once it was forced to be born. I was wrong and I an manly man enough to admit they found a use for children other than as political pawns.

Ditto, Elise Von Holton. Same thing when I was growing up to the T.
