What’s The Deal Here?

After announcing that he was not stopping the release of the Kennedy Assassination files, Trump backed down and kept 300 of the files secret.

Those were the 300 files that prove Ted Cruz’s dad killed Kennedy.

Yeah, Jan, We Hear You

Remember Jan Brewer?  That vicious old crazy woman in Arizona who shook her finger in the President’s face?

Well, she up and decided that she wants to talk about Jeff Flake.

“Politics is not for sissies,” she explains.

Yeah, Jan, but it’s not for venomous, catty old bitties either.

By the Way

The Astros won last night.  I’ve never seen a game like it.

And I’ve never seen a ballplayer like Jose Altuve.

New Texas Super PAC

October 26, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Okay, I’m gonna tell you about a new Texas PAC.

The name of it is — please enjoy this — “Young Minds Pursuing Righteousness.”

No, I absolutely am not kidding.  It is based in Dipping Springs, Texas.  I’m gonna go out on a limb here and guess that this is a Republican PAC.

And here’s a fun fact.  The Designated Agent for this PAC is Stephen James Curran and, according to official state records, he’s 56 years old.  Maybe he’s “young” at heart, I dunno.  He votes in Republican primaries.

However, the treasurer, Emily Michelle Curran, is not a registered voter in Texas.

Okay, now I’m thinking this is a Russian deal.

Hell, it could be an Oklahoma deal.

Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up.

What The Hell Is Wrong With Us?

Ten year old Rosamaria was brought to the United States by her mother when she was 3 months old.  Her mother is undocumented, but Rosamaria has aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents who are United States citizens.  Rosamaria also has cerebral palsy.

Last week she was taken by ambulance from Laredo to Corpus Christi for gallbladder surgery.  At the Freer checkpoint it was discovered that Rosamaria is not a United States citizen.  The ambulance was then escorted to the hospital in Corpus by Customs and Border Protection agents.

Rosamaria’s mother, Felipa Delacruz, who also lacks legal immigration status, said federal agents waited outside her daughter’s hospital room as she recovered. Delacruz is in Laredo. Her niece, who is a U.S. citizen, accompanied Rosamaria past the checkpoint.

She was released from the hospital with medical instructions that Rosamaria should see her primary care physician within three days of her release from the hospital.  Instead, she was taken to a children’s shelter in San Antonio where she will have to wait for two to three weeks for her case to be heard.  Her lawyers say that Rosamaria has never been apart from her mother.

She is a ten year old child with cerebral palsy recovering from surgery.

Customs and Border Protection spokesman Rod Kise issued a statement to the Caller-Times early Wednesday that states Rosamaria is no exception to the agency’s duty to enforce immigration law.

“Per the immigration laws of the United States, once medically cleared she will be processed accordingly,” according to the statement. “The Mexican Consulate has been advised of the situation by Laredo Sector Border Patrol.”

This is my government, representing me, doing this to a child.

Congressman Joaquin Castro wrote —

“Right now, federal agents are staking out the hospital room of a sick 10-year-old child … A small child who just had surgery is not a threat to Texans’ safety or our national security. (The Department of Homeland Security) should focus its resources elsewhere.”

No shoot, Sherlock.

Sumbitches.  We have become sumbitches.  My government is needlessly but purposefully mean to sick little children.

Damn You, Texas!

This morning it was announced that Texas House Speaker Joe Straus will not seek reelection.  Straus is the last remaining sane Republican in a leadership position in the Texas House. He won because a few Republicans and all the Democrats supported him.

There is much moaning and wailing outside the nut house in Texas today.  Straus was all that was standing between Texas outlawing courts of law and replacing them with posses, requiring a stamped Baptist church program or an excuse from your doctor every Monday to get a voter registration card, and having to allow Lt. Governor Dan Patrick watch you pee after inspecting your paraphernalia.

Do you realize that we could end up with Jonathan Strickland as speaker of the Texas House?

Then to make matters worse, the son of  late Democratic Governor Mark White (who was a good guy and passed away in July) has announced the he wants to run for Texas Governor as a Democrat.  His opening push?

“I’ve spent my career in business. I’m a very conservative Democrat, or I’m a moderate Republican or I don’t care what you call me,” he says. “It’s time to move beyond these simple labels . . . The issues are too complicated to limit to that just one team believes this and the other team believes that.”

Honey, Honey, Honey.  I can smell a Republican a mile off.  Child, you’re going to run in a Democratic primary by telling me that you’re not really a Democrat?

It is not a happy day in Texas for Democrats and, dammit, that doesn’t make it much different than any other day.
