I Love Yew, Texas

May 07, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Don’t mess with Texas, y’all, because Texas is messed up enough already.

Republicans in the Texas legislature are cognizant of the high probably the even their gerrymandered districts aren’t going to help much in 2020 to get them elected.  As it stands now, they are cruisin’ for a bruisin’.

So in an overabundance of overstupidity, they have come up with some ideas.  All of these ideas have the weight and guidance of a turkey feather in a strong breeze, but honey, that ain’t stopping them from pulling themselves up to their full intellectual stature of a frog and leaping over the United States of Damn America Constitution.

Here’s their first idea:

I wanted you to see that in black and white because, admit it, you would not have believed me if I had just told you.  That means that the bus my 92 year old Momma used to take from her retirement apartment to go vote would be illegal, even if they were all voting Republican. Hell, they used to make it a social event and all went to have lunch at Luby’s cafeteria afterwards. We couldn’t get them to vote by mail because they just love the apple salad at Luby’s.

But, where the Republicans were trying to go wasn’t about upper middle class ladies who vote Republican mostly. No, they just did that accidentally. What they wanted to eliminate is Souls to the Polls, where black churches on the last Sunday of early voting, load up the church busses and head to the polls.  Or Democratic candidates driving through neighborhoods in rented busses to get everyone to the polls.

And they did this because they are mean and don’t love Jesus.

They also have this little ditty.  Nazi guards at polling locations. They want to make innocent mistakes a felony.

SB9, poised to pass the Senate, makes it more difficult for people who need assistance at the polls, such as seniors and the disabled. It gives partisan poll watchers the right to be in the voting booth when a volunteer is helping someone, a clear encroachment on the secret ballot. It also imposes new hoops to jump through for election volunteers, including those who drive voters to the polls.

They are foaming at the mouth, Darlin’, and there doesn’t seem to be a sacred right they ain’t trying to murder.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Yeah, But Bill Barr Disagrees

Trump would have been indicted for obstruction of justice in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation if he wasn’t president, more than 370 former federal prosecutors argued in an open letter publish on Medium on Monday.

Take a look.

Not just one indictment, but several.

The Mueller report describes several acts that satisfy all of the elements for an obstruction charge: conduct that obstructed or attempted to obstruct the truth-finding process, as to which the evidence of corrupt intent and connection to pending proceedings is overwhelming. These include:

· The President’s efforts to fire Mueller and to falsify evidence about that effort;

· The President’s efforts to limit the scope of Mueller’s investigation to exclude his conduct; and

· The President’s efforts to prevent witnesses from cooperating with investigators probing him and his campaign.

Since it was posted this afternoon, more have signed and it’s up to 418.

I think we should elect a few of these guys to Congress.

A Bright Idea

May 06, 2019 By: Juanita Jean Herownself

Oh, now Trump has a bright idea – reparations for himself.  Jerry Falwell decided that since we’ve been so damn nasty about Trump enriching himself in the White House, selling out our country to the Russians, trashing American institutions and destroying the English language, he should get two extra years in the White House.

I guess it’s become increasingly apparent that he’s not going to get four more years, huh?

Okay, I’ll agree to that – 2 extra years right over Barack Obama gets 8 extra years for Trump running around claiming Obama wasn’t born here and Jerry Falwell claiming Obama wasn’t a Christian.

And then I cannot believe some people are worried that Trump won’t leave office if the election is close in 2020.  That’s just dumb.  I’ve got a hay wagon and a pitchfork for instances just like this. You throw his fat butt out.  Or if he leaves to go play golf, you change the locks.  This is not rocket science. You get a big ole sign that says “LOSER!” and hang it on the White House – he’ll leave.

Look, Nancy, if you’re going to worry about something, worry that Trump is separating families, putting children in cages, and getting his friends high paying jobs to oversee the operation which means it ain’t gonna end anytime soon.

Former White House chief of staff John F. Kelly has joined the board of Caliburn International, the parent organization of the company that runs the largest facility housing migrant children in the United States.

Caliburn is a for profit company.  You and I are paying for their profit.

The second best way to end this sooner is to turn it over to nonprofits.  The first best way is to stop caging children.

If congress can’t stop this, what the hell good are they?

Which is a damn good question for a Monday.

How He Does It

May 05, 2019 By: El Jefe

ProPublica is on the case, digging in on Trump’s personal self enrichment using his own resorts to reap millions in government money and stuff in his own pockets full of American taxpayer cash.   One textbook example of how he does it is described in detail, and it goes like this:  Trump and his merry band of criminals descend on Mara Lago for the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping in April 2017.  Late in the evening of the state dinner (profits to Donald Trump), Steve Bannon and unknown number of his cronies take over the posh Library Bar in the resort, order the bartender out and post the Secret Service at the door.  In the ensuing hours, they consume 54 premium cocktails (self served) while the agents block the door from entry, including the bartender himself.  The bill, totaling over $1,000 (with the service charge) was later toted up and sent to the State Department which it refused to pay.  It was forwarded to the White House, which, of course approved the bill without question, writing the check, taxpayers paying the bill.

The article goes on the describe how the Trump administration has lifted the caps on hotel bills at Trump resorts, allowing trump to profit, selling rooms to the government for $500 dollars a night and more.

Trump is nothing more than a mobster, stealing money from Americans while 42% of them cheer him on in his criminality.  The corruption is jaw dropping, while his sycophants look wide-eyed saying “What?  You were serious about that?”

A Thousand Words

They say a picture is worth a thousand words …

This is the Baylor Women’s national champion basketball team at the White House. They seem … I dunno … meh.

And here’s their coach at Trump’s dinner honoring them.

You Do Not Want To Go There

So the Pope lectured me.

Too late, Mr. Pope.  I got here before you did.  Besides, this is not gossip – this is overthrowing of governments.

Okay, and lemme say this. You go do popey things and I’ll do hairstyles.

It seems to me that the world has bigger problems that somebody’s not telling you about.
