Oh My

October 30, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Y’all, I do not know what to say.  The Joe Biden / Kamala Harris bus came to my county yesterday.  It was just going around Texas with local elected Democrats and candidates. Neither Joe or Kamala were on the bus.

The Republicans hated it.  They came in force to try to shout down the program.  They brought a tank.

They also brought a casket.  A real casket.

Republicans are apologizing to Democrats after Trump supporters brought a casket to the Biden Bus Tour in Missouri City Thursday. The casket included a dark-haired mannequin that some believe was meant to depict Kamala Harris.

A mail-in ballot was also inside the casket next to the mannequin which was connected to a hears with writing on the side that read, “Collecting Democrat votes one dead stiff at a time,” and “Vote like your life depends on it. It does.”

Mean people. Evil people.

Sorry but that’s not a tank, it’s a tanker. It’s the same type truck that delivers gasoline to your local Valero. I have no clue at all as to why they would bring that as a protest. Crazy people do crazy things.

  3. Whoever is responsible for the casket, mannequin, and threatening note need to go to jail.

  4. Gobsmacked. The lowest of the low.

I hope we survive the next few days, the next few weeks.

  5. Sick and evil, yes! Calling them deplorables is too good for them.

Looks like a death threat to a candidate to me. The Secret Service needs to have a chat with someone, really soon.

These are NOT good, moral or honest people. They definitely don’t meet any criteria for decency.

    Calling them deplorable is kind.

Don’t know where you’re at or where you’re from.
But tanker trucks in Southeast Texas just look like tanker trucks. Cause they are.
The only time I’ve seen vehicles looking like that in my area they were on railcars heading to a port.
    Repugnantcans used them to intimidate.
Period. Paragraph. End of f**king story.

  10. Check out twitter thread of @ericcervini:
I flew down to Texas to help with the Biden/Harris bus tour, intended to drum up enthusiasm at polling locations. Instead, I ended up spending the afternoon calling 911. 1/ https://t.co/gKAjv7gv85

Story continues…(I don’t know if that link goes to the tweet.)

    Horrifying!

  11. Hannah, I kept going with the link. My sister is a retired nurse. She was told not to volunteer at the local hospital because someone somewhere thought she was too old and a mandate went out that anyone 70 or older who was a nurse was off the volunteer list for good. Get this. My sister retired about 10 years ago after undergoing back surgery from helping to lift comatose patients. As soon as she retired she kept getting letters from various doctors in different places wishing to hire her based on her excellent record and experience. She could write her own ticket. Well, all things considered, she is very glad she did not follow through on any of them and decided to enjoy life with her grandchildren.

She has recently revealed to me that she saw so many horrible things in her career that she no longer affiliates with any church and she isn’t alone in this equation. So many nurses and doctors are in it with her.

I know what it is to be with someone on their deathbed. I held my husband’s hand at the end. About six weeks later he showed up in a ‘dream” and kissed me. I felt his lips on mine. that had to be an entirely different kind of dream.

As for the fiasco involving the tanker truck and the casket, whoever planned it, and all those who got personally involved, they are already dead on the inside.

    12
  12. Mah Fellow Murkuhn says:

P.P., yes, that’s a military version, but it’s a tanker. It’s what the military uses to transport gas/diesel or even water. Some volunteer fire departments get them to use to use as water tankers for brush fires. You can’t buy a tank, but you can buy a surplus tanker it seems. I just think it’s funny that a tanker is all they can come up with.

  13. The Surly Professor says:

Nobody should rely on the Secret Service to do anything about threats to Democrats. They will try to protect a President, but when it comes to indirect threats like coffins, they’ll always be “investigating” but that investigation will never be completed, or action taken.

In 1980 when Reagan was compaigning, I and a friend had gone to the DFW airport to pick up some other friends getting out of the Navy. Reagan’s plane landed and he came along the terminal shaking hands with people. My friend help up his hands palms out and backed away, saying “I don’t want to shake your hand”. Two SS goons knocked him to the ground, kicked him a few times, then took him to the exit and threw him down a flight of stairs into the roadway. They told him not to re-enter the airport buildings for two hours.

Nope, he was not a threat. They did not even take his name or ask for ID! His crime was not showing sufficient respect for a senile Republican candidate that they favored.

There’s other incidents where it is clear: the SS heavily favor Republicans, and while they don’t want a Democratic president getting gunned down on their watch, they’re not going out of their way to field any but the most explicit threats.

Messaging that deserves to either backfire or blow up in the faces of conservatives. Caskets and headstones serve as reminders that Covidiot* 45 and covidiot governors are responsible for over 235,000 deaths.

When a conservative speaks of health care and/or the sanctity of human life there are so many examples to contradict them. When a Republicon politician speaks of “preexisting conditions” an their ‘plan,’ a picture speaks a thousand words: https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Pl60T6YFXWc/X5yLADBqTsI/AAAAAAACHx8/xB5Cmmo5K8grMFt4L2uv6_cf9ybfhh00wCLcBGAsYHQ/s960/5%2Bed%2Bhall.jpg

The display by local repugnanticans is emblematic of their party and orange leader that wanted to be king. He finally got his military parade. His legacy will be that of death- he’ll be remembered as king covid 45 and the pandemic will be known as Trumpfs virus.
Repugnanticans saying they’re sorry for this show can remember this after the election.
    Go Blue Texas!!!

  16. Grandma Ada says:

I got caught in a GIANT traffic jam on Woodway yesterday morning when a rich-folk parade was driving around the neighborhood before going to downtown. They were loud, not nice and that’s before they saw the Biden bumper sticker on my car. People talk about bringing Americans together, but the rift is wide and deep!

  17. Sam in Superior says:

If it was a tanker that pumped sewage, it would be a great ride home for the Trump folks.

  19. Steve from Beaverton says:

Then there’s this on the way to Austin. Assholes. Next week they’ll probably have their AK’s hanging out the windows.

  20. Steve #20: these trump supporters are bullies, just like him. I’m hopeful (cautiously) that when he no longer has the bullhorn (and is in prison, please) they will retreat back into the muck from which they appeared. We will never be rid of them but must be vigilant to counter, root out, reform, whatever it takes.

    21
  21. This is indicative of how desperate they are…

    22
  22. Jere Armen says:

AND they tried to run the bus off the road.

    23
  23. Mah Fellow Murkuhn:
Agreed. I think they’d use a tank if they could get one.
And plaster it all over social media.

    24
  24. UmptyDump says:

There’s worse. This video from Friday shows a number of vehicles carrying Trump flags trying to play bumper tag with a Biden-Harris bus along I-35. One pickup truck appears to have sideswiped a car in the lane to the left.

  25. Sandridge says:

More details on one of the latest terrorist attacks by Trump’s fascist thugs, the potentially dangerous vehicular assaults on a federal highway [in my area].
Aboard the bus was sitting US Congressman Lloyd Doggett, Congressional candidate Wendy Davis, and others.
Shortly afterwards in Austin, the Democrats, foolishly imo, canceled two campaign events due to the intimidation. Backing down is not the way to handle these Nazi sonsabitches, damn it!

I am so pissed off I donated more dinero to the Democrats, including Wendy Davis, who is also facing an onslaught of very nasty TV spots, the worst coming from national Rethug groups; her Rethug opponent is the extreme RWNJ Chip Roy.
    ‘Chip’ in if y’all can.
    Actblue.com makes it super easy.

“Neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris were aboard the bus, which was traveling from San Antonio to Austin on Interstate 35. Among the passengers on board were Wendy Davis, a Democrat running in the 21st Congressional District against incumbent Republican Chip Roy; Democratic Congressman Rep. Lloyd Doggett, who represents District 35; and Roland Gutierrez, a candidate for Texas senate District 19.
The bus was part of a late Texas push for the Biden campaign, which organized several events in the state as part of a “Battle for the Soul of the Nation” tour featuring various Democratic candidates appearing with Harris. The pro-Trump vehicles, dubbed the “Trump Train,” surrounded it as it passed near New Braunfels en route to Austin, and remained with it until San Marcos, 20 miles down the road.”

    26
  26. You get most, all the substantive bits, right but stumbled on the minor issue of US military vehicle identification. What you have there is a US military 10 ton truck.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heavy_Expanded_Mobility_Tactical_Truck

It is a big scary vehicle and, if the proper kits are installed, it might be lightly armored. So, you weren’t entirely wrong.

    27
  27. Harry Eagar says:

That looks like a water cannon on top of that tanker.

Meanwhile, at Alamance Courthouse the Klan, dressed as cops and deputies, attacked a voter rally of, primarily, African-Americans.

    28
  28. Glynda Neuwirth says:

Yeah, we saw the footage of the sideswipe and Trump-Nutz-Trucks in my area (N of Austin). I hope to hell someone got some plate numbers.

    29
  29. Steve from Beaverton says:

Harry Eager @28- I read a story earlier today about the “police” macing peaceful protesters including kids because they were in the street near the Alamance Courthouse. Now it makes sense that they (cops) were actually some of those “very fine people” as Trumpf describes them. This is the kind of deplorable stuff we can expect from Trumpf cultists for at least the next week. HRC was right calling them “deplorables”.

    30
  30. Sandridge@26:
I had the same reaction. Giving in to that kinda intimidation
    totally fires up the intimidators.
Imagining their victory party afterwards isn’t doing heartburn levels any favors.

    31
  31. *my heartburn levels*

  32. My daughter lives near the Buc-ees in New Braunfels and the MAGAts have been having their Trump Train every Thursday night for the past 6 weeks or so. She said one night, a bunch of Hispanics petitioned the city, got a permit, and had their own parade, playing loud Tejano music and driving thru the city. Then they met at the parking lot across from Buc-ees, had a taco truck come in, and danced the night away. I think this was a great response to intimidation.

    33
  33. It has to be noted that reckless driving, if the intention is to do bodily harm, as opposed to simply being in a hurry and/or carelessness, automatically becomes assault with a deadly weapon.

    34
  34. they all must be prosecuted if we don’t prosecute the people that did this and every other sin underneath these bastards our democracy is over if I need to pay a special tax to finance the prosecution of all these bastards I will do it but every one of them down to dog catcher with an r next to their name needs to be inspected evaluated run through a grand jury and sent to prison for the rest of their lives.
