No Surprise Here, For Sure.

Republican congressvarmint from California, Dana Rohrabacher, who apparently does not mind being called Putin’s favorite congressman, has a Democratic opponent.

We can’t be having crap like that when Russia is perfectly capable of sabotaging elections.

FBI agents in California and Washington, D.C., have investigated a series of cyberattacks over the past year that targeted a Democratic opponent of Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-CA).

Well, I’ll be a monkey’s great nephew.  And then they say …

Rep. Rohrabacher is arguably the most ardent supporter of the Russian government and its leader, Vladimir Putin, in Congress. He has voted againstRussian sanctions and was once warned by the FBI that Putin’s government was trying to recruit him as an asset.

It looks like they were successful.

Dana Rohrabacher, the embattled Orange County congressman known for his close ties to the Kremlin, said Friday that Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions should resign after showing disloyalty to President Trump by refusing to shut down the Russia investigation.

For a Republican incumbent already in danger of losing his seat in a district that favored Hillary Clinton over Trump in 2016, the remarks carried the risk of serious political damage.

Look, standing up to Trump is the only decent, courageous thing Jeff Sessions has ever done in his whole damn life.  This is his one shot to get into the Pearly Gates.  Don’t be a nincompoop and take that away from him, Dana.  I know your chance is shot, but let Jeff have a chance.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

  1. two crows says:

Hmm. If he’s no longer in office, would he no longer be an asset to Putin?

Maybe he decided spying isn’t for him after all?

Or maybe he figures he can be more helpful to the Ruskies if he’s a private citizen? Somehow I doubt that – but he might well be stupid enough to believe it.

    I vote for #3.

  2. The CNN story yesterday about John McCain had a quote from his memoir, along the lines of reminding his fellow members of congress that they weren’t the subordinates of the president, but his equals.
Apparently this jackwagon Rohrabacher prefers kneeling rather than standing.
Take that in any way you want to.

  3. A long time ago, if an American was in any way connected or communicating info to the Ruskies, it was an automatic loss of your security clearance, not to mention serious legal woes like prison time. I guess that’s all out the window with these treasonous GOP b@$t@rds….

  4. I must say that over the past few weeks, Jeff Sessions has shown some signs of being an old fashioned Republican with a spine. He may like throwing poor people in jail, but he seems to have drawn a line at being a traitorous, Russian stooge trying to sabotage the FBI. These days, that puts him in the top 10% of the GOP.

  5. Following the law is courageous?

  6. Sessions has proved that he is untrustworthy, but in preventing Dump from firing Rosenstein and then Mueller, he has proved useful. Given his obvious synpathies, Dana may have more to lose than his job if the Russia investigation continues.

  7. Only 3 kind of people support Trump.
    #1 The vary rich.
    #2 Traitors.
    and #3 God Damn Fools.

  8. Well, we knew that the Golden Gibbon was Putin’s Number One ***ch. Apparently old Dana is the stand-in, ready to go on stage. in case the GG is unavailable, as in a gated community. Yah know, there is just not enough air freshener in the world to cope with this!

  9. Why not mention who Rohrabacher’s opponent is (Harvey Rouda), just to help his name recognition, and suggest that maybe he could use $5?

Disclaimer: I know nothing about him, except that he has a website and is running against Dana Rohrabacher.
