Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III

July 12, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Oh yeah, That’s exactly what this country needs – Jeff Sessions as Vice President.

Hovering around the process is Sen. Jeff Sessions (Ala.), another early Trump backer who is a central force in the campaign and is said to be ready to serve as Trump’s running mate if asked.

220px-Jeff_Sessions_official_portraitI’d like to remind folks that Sessions might not be the one to help with racial tension in America.

In response to a question from Joe Biden on whether he had called the NAACP and other civil rights organizations “un-American”, Sessions replied “I’m often loose with my tongue. I may have said something about the NAACP being un-American or Communist, but I meant no harm by it.”

I mean no harm by it.  Stunning.

Two OLD white guys sure sounds like a winning ticket. The one thing he has going for him (I think) is he’s not a serial philanderer.

  2. Polite Kool Marxist says:

“I meant no harm by it.”

Feel the love snacilbupeR style. Terms of endearment, “un-American or Communist.”

But eh, what’s in a name? Something like Jefferson Beauregard. Beauregard, isn’t that French for a few fries short of a Freedumb cracker?

  3. Oldayfly says:

I thought it would be interesting to yell, “FIRE!” in a crowded theater, but I meant no harm by it.

  4. The GOP has pandered to the racist vote since Milhous developed the southern strategy back in 1968. The middle of the road Republicans welcomed their votes but thought they would remain a on the outside of power of the party.
To quote the great southern philosopher Gomer Pyle ” Surprise Surprise”. Along comes Donny J to mobilize the new base of the GOP and the chickens have come home to roost.
One might wonder how these Bible thumping hypocrites forget the Scripture of ” You reap what you sow.”

  5. I don’t mean no harm by it translates to hell, its your fault for considering me a thinker.

Rich old white guys actually believe they are privileged to be stupid, especially if they are in politics.

  6. two crows says:

“I meant no harm by it. Because I never mean any harm by my dog whistles. Hey, they’re just dog whistles, after all! Now my man Trump — HE uses a bullhorn! And I want me some of that.”

    6
  7. “I’m often loose with my tongue” means “I got no boundaries and my brain cells don’t often rub together,” but I mean no harm by it.

  8. Rastybob says:

Sessions the lll. This is what happens when cousins marry.

  9. Gosh. I’m conflicted. There are so many wonderful Trump VP options (wonderful if you’re a progressive Dem) that I can’t make up my mind.

Can’t we just let Trump choose multiple VPs? I mean, it worked for wives.

  10. JAKvirginia says:

Sessions: “I’m often loose with my tongue.”

Oh, Jeff, honey! Have I got a few gay men for you! And a few women, too!

(Sorry, momma. I’m in a nasty mood.)

  11. Sam in San Antonio says:

I may have referred to him and donald as “useless pieces of cow dung” but I meant nothing by it.

  12. The country is being torn apart by the elevation to legitimate status of willfully ignorant bigots.

And I damn well mean every word of that.

    12
  13. He’s an ignorant , bigoted nit.
But I meant no harm by it

    13
  14. I’ve said a lot of things about Scumpf, very negative things, profane things, true things . . . . and I meant plenty of harm to him by it.

    14
  15. Took me a moment to realize that photo was NOT Alfred E. Neuman. Who, BTW, would make a far better candidate than Hair Drumpf.

  16. Tilphousia says:

Rich old white guys think they are still the masters of all they survey. Which in Jeffie’s case is about the size of an outhouse.

    16
  17. Lunargent says:

    Jefferson Beauregard Sessions the 3rd.

    That’s his actual name.

Of course it is; what else could it possibly have been?

Bet he’s got a chiffarobe at home, filled with nice, crisp, freshly-laundered robes made outta white sheets.

    17
  18. maryelle says:

How can he possibly be held accountable for what he says when he “means no harm”? Unfortunately, ole Beauregard’s responsibility as a Senator is precisely to consider the consequences of his words, whether they are based on fact and what their consequences are. He is grossly unqualified to represent anyone, as are so many of his ilk.

    18
  19. “elevation to legitimate status of willfully ignorant bigots.”

Is a direct result of the disrespect for reason inherent in teaching small children religion.

It’s your fault. Don’t blame it on others.
