Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
It’s so nice to see that there are still some people with brains out there. Too bad he’s obviously dealing with a bunch who don’t.
1I’ve been saying for years that “Idiocracy” was a documentary. People don’t laugh any more when I say that now.
2“Imagine Being A Mayor In Mississippi”
When candidates run for office there, instead of debates they should display their ability to herd cats in a public forum.
3I’m so used to politicians spinning that I didn’t recognize one who tells the truth, but then he’s a Democrat, and that matters. Now, the county judge in Montgomery County, Texas, where I live called Governor Abbott’s “…move to shut down some businesses, including bars, to slow the spread of COVID-19 ‘ludicrous’ on Friday, adding the governor is picking ‘winners and losers’ in the economy.” No big surprise: he’s a Tea Partier. No comments yet about how antifa might be coming to Conroe, thank goodness. Nothing like a good conspiracy theory to ward off the virus, right?
4Well good for him. That’s one in a row.
5Or Maryland, where Satan himself has taken an interest.

6In order for Antifa to go to Tupelo, there would have to be something in Tupelo that they wanted. I’ve been to Tupelo and I’m here to tell you there is nothing in Tupelo worth going to Tupelo for.
7An intelligent and rational government official in the South; should be declared a protected endangered species.
8@Mike: “I’ve been saying for years that “Idiocracy” was a documentary.”
Hey, for some it was a manual.
Happy to say that all along the MS Gulf Coast cities are taking down the state flag (including my small hometown!). In addition, all the major state universities and some major businesses are saying to take it down. (The most important driver in all this – sadly – will be college football.)
9Who ya gonna believe? Fox News, Rush Limbaugh or some two-bit lying mayor?
Someone at the bar last night said they saw an Antifa guy trying to steal the Elvis statue from the town square. Just sayin …
10Jason Shelton is my new hero. That is all.
11P. D. East published the weekly Mississippi Petal Paper in the fifties. The “Fearless Wit Of Forrest County” per Smithsonian Magazine. He grew up poor in the sawmill camps of southern Mississippi yet became a friend of William Faulkner and other notable “moderates”. His local advertisers and subscribers deserted him, but national subscriptions grew exponentially. The Smithsonian Magazine has East’s quote, “I’m sure you will understand the necessity of KEEPING OUT the amateur southerners, the liberals and the lunkheads”, the full page “jackass” advertisement for the “Glorious Citizen’s Clan” meeting, and more:

12Tupelo is lucky to have a mayor with brains.
13I doubt that many cities in Mississippi do.
Wow! Common sense from a low-level local politician! And in Mississippi!
Somehow, that’s reaffirming…
14The mayor from Mississippi is one positive thing. That leaves how many Repugnanticans to go? Maybe when we hear Goober Gohmert say something like that, we’ll really have something to talk about. In the meantime, LG says no mask for him till he’s been sickening (others) for a while. Some are so proud of him.
15What is going on in Mississippi? First, the Mayor of Tupelo was not hiding behind a door when God was handing out the common sense; and, second, the Mississippi Legislature just voted to take the Confederate battle flag off their state flag. Thirdly, I saw a poll where MS is likely to give its electoral college votes to Biden.
Has the world completely turned upside down?
