I Enjoyed Last Night

February 20, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I didn’t see a disaster.  I saw some feisty people willing to fight for their beliefs.  I saw passion, and the ability to take on Donald Trump.

I saw Elizabeth Warren take home Bloomberg’s winkie in her pocket last night, showing why he was letting his money talk instead of his mouth.  His snappy comeback about Turbo Tax was an insult to most of America, and his reasoning for not releasing his taxes was the same as Donald Trump – he hadn’t had time.  Good Lord, he’s been talking about running since last summer and if he hasn’t had his people going over his taxes with a fine tooth comb, he’s an idiot.  I could give you my tax returns in an afternoon and most of that time would be spent figuring out if the paper went into the copy machine face up or face down and whether it should point east or west in the feeder.

I grinned at the vandalism on Wikipedia after the debate last night.

I grinned at the vandalism on Wikipedia after the debate last night.  (It’s a shame they got the date wrong – 2019 instead of 2020 – but I figure they were pretty much in a hurry.)

Amy Klobuchar showed she’s got game. She wasn’t going to stand down to anybody, including Warren.

I thought Joe did Joe very well and looked stronger than in other debates.  I saw Bernie even smile last night.

Y’all, don’t buy into the line that Democrats hurt themselves last night.  I think they showed they care about stuff and are willing to fight for it.

I had an acquaintance call me last night during one of the commercials and tell me, “I just can’t watch it because of all the negativity.”  God help me, I replied, “I’m sorry I can’t listen to you because of all the negativity about the negativity. Go watch the Hallmark channel. It’s fiction and no one’s life depends on it, but you’ll be much happier.”

Find which person you think would knee cap Donald Trump.  Vote for them.

This ain’t gonna be pretty.

  1. Ms. Juanita Jean Herownself, thank you! We saw the same debate. We are so happy we pulled the plug on cable, so the ‘both side’ pundit class can’t ruin our days and nights.

Caucus this Sat, and we are still undecided between two of the Senators. Who can be our FDR and kick the last breath out of IQ4.5*? We were sort of hoping Messy would do that before the general. Isn’t the statute of limitations up on her pre-nup with Donnie*?

I guess there is such a thing as male morning sickness/nausea etc.

  3. I’m voting for the guy who is more than willing to strip to the waist and beat the slobber out of the Golden Gibbon. In debating the GG, this is what it will come to.

    Liz/Pete in 2020!

  5. Mr. charles phillips @4, you know we love and respect you, at least we hope you know that, but respectfully Pete? We’d rather see the return of Beto or Julián Castro. One of those like Hilz in 2016, we don’t want to list all the reasons why, because should he become “the” nominee or on a ticket with the nominee, we don’t want to do the Republicons’ oppo research for them.

You are correct that both Senators Warren and Sanders could “do” with younger running mates on their tickets. Maybe Stacey Abrams with Bernie (covers the south, maybe ‘fixes’ the FL problem)or Adam Schiff with Liz (covers both coasts)?

  6. megasoid @2 ROFL with your “DINOMIKE Gloomberg.” Not that we think Magic Mike would even qualify as a RINO; more the standard opportunistic Republicon trying to pose as a Democrat.

maggie, there’s a reason Biden still polls as “likeable.” He stumbled in the debates, but he was on fire during the post debate cluster … uh what’s the word … oh yeah … spin room.

Now if our dear Senator Harry Reid would please stfu and stop embarrassing himself and NV. In all sincerity, the man is not well and should go home to enjoy his remaining time with his family.

  7. Deb T's other half says:

I think Susan and Don Bankston were shouting out politics when they came out of their moms’ wombs. As much as I tend to recoil from angry take-downs and uncivil behavior, JJ’s right about this.  After all, who do Dems want to nominate to take down Kim Jong Trump?  By its nature, politics is a blood sport, it always has been.  Trump’s success has sure made that clear. There was a reason why Harry Truman said, “If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.”

  8. 1) Appropriate for day after debate when polls on the run-up have tried to erase ( in fact one did) Sen. Warren from the race.
The Economist and Pew have stories on how polls are being manipulated to give idea that demented donnie is viable ( though Pew claimed a 74% and 85% support of demented donnie from these bots is “not partisan”) So like vote counts from the traitor states take them with a boatload of salt.

    2) With doddering dons new head of the “intelligence” the russian and chinese become superfluous since he will use the US intelligence agency’s to do the dirty work. And since most of the people working their are more worried in keeping their jobs rather then doing their jobs with the veneer of “duty” to rationalize their bad behavior they will just give a snappy salute and start trashing any d they are ordered to do so no matter their oaths, organizational charter and legality.

    3) Warren/ Harris. If you want baby pete you might as well ask for rubio (Fl), or gardner (Co).

  9. UltraViolet Calls On DNC to Keep Bloomberg Off Debate Stage Unless the Billionaire Releases Former Employees From NDAs

Edit: ”We already have a sexual predator in the White House in Donald Trump. Silencing employees and encouraging a toxic work environment cannot be the new normal.” Women’s advocacy group UltraViolet called on the Democratic National Committee to keep former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg off the debate stage until the billionaire releases his former employees from non-disclosure agreements about alleged mistreatment at his company.
The group reiterated its call Thursday after Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) lambasted Bloomberg over the dozens of sexual harassment allegations against him and his company and for refusing to release the women from NDAs at Wednesday night’s presidential debate. UltraViolet originally circulated a petition ahead of the debate regarding the issue.

At least 17 women have taken legal action against Bloomberg’s media company over the past three decades, alleging a hostile environment for women. At least three plaintiffs specifically named Bloomberg as making inappropriate remarks, while some sued the company for wrongful termination and gender discrimination.

Bloomberg has refused to release women from NDAs they signed as part of settlements, according to Vox.
As The Nation reported Wednesday, Bloomberg has also demanded that his campaign employees sign NDAs with language that could keep managers from ever being held accountable for abusive behavior.

  10. Under no circumstances Bloomberg. He’s nothing more then a slightly smarter version of Trump with actual money. I have things in my fridge that have been there longer than the D he puts next to his name. Anyone who actually wants him shows they would have backed the current idiot if his MAGA hats were blue.
