The Guardian, citing sources, said Paul Manafort met with Julian Assange at Ecuador’s British Embassy in 2013, 2015 and in the spring of 2016.
The newspaper also reported that an internal document written by Ecuador’s intelligence agency and seen by The Guardian contains Manafort’s name on a list of “well-known” guests at the embassy in 2013. The list, according to the newspaper, also mentions “Russians.”
The funnest meeting they had was probably the March 2016 meeting because Trump hired Manafort at the end of March 2016 – right after the meeting. You don’t have to own a crystal ball to know what was discussed.
“I love wikileaks,” hollers Trump, meaning that Manafort doesn’t have to risk meeting with Assange because Trump will give them orders while speaking in front of a rally with teevee cameras recording it. It was more brazen than a hussy on the front row of church wearing feathers and sequins and little else.
And apparently Manafort shot off his mouth about his Assange connection because ….
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s team has been investigating a meeting between former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Ecuadorian President Lenin Moreno in Quito in 2017 and has specifically asked if WikiLeaks or its founder, Julian Assange, were discussed in the meeting, a source with personal knowledge of the matter tells CNN.
Now, you can bet your best pair of pink boots that it was discussed at that meeting or Mueller wouldn’t ask about it.
The Washington Post says we should have seen this big reveal (about Manafort lying to Mueller) coming. Trump went on a Twitter rage yesterday. You can set your clock by it.
Thelma is scared that Russians are so deep into our government by now that we’ll never get them out. I dunno. Maybe we can give Maxine Waters a bottle of vodka and a can of Raid. Just turn her loose.

Following the pattern of past elections we can see that this will mean recruiting thuglicans to run as D’s, starving progressives of any support, funding thuglicrats and corpocrats in any primary contest with progressive candinates.
Remember the past, and present, leadership of the dccc would rather have a thuglican in office then a progressive d. See cuellar and lipinski races.
Candinates such as lipinski and cuellar, who vote with demented donnie more then 50% of the time is their preference over people like MJ, Jayapal, Ocasia-Cortez, and others.
A progressive agenda is an anethma to their chance at wing nut welfare, and their political paymasters, so they will do all they can to torpedo anyone who supports a progressive agenda.

6The DCCC finally gave up calling me when I told them that I’d never donate money. I believe they are the main reason why candidates are elected that don’t represent the democratic values and needs of their constituents.

Rep. Henry Cuellar ain’t going anywhere.
It is impossible for any other Democrat, a progressive or not, to even get any primary traction in his district. He doesn’t even usually draw a Rethug opposing candidate.
Cuellar has a rock solid impenetrable Hispanic base of nominal Democratic voters around Laredo and Webb County, TX that is unshakable. Even if all the voters in the rest of the other counties in his district wanted him gone, he’d still be standing.
The only effective way to ‘send him a message’ would be for Nancy Pelosi to give him a minimum of inconsequential committee assignments. Right?
8So, if you’ll remember this last election night, Cuellar was on the victory stage with a few others, and Nancy Pelosi; and got a special callout from Pelosi. So, how do you think those committee assignments will go?
Let the progressives put him in his place as junior member of the stationary committee.

As far as ‘standing up in meetings’ or whatever, Laredo is 200+ miles away (some of our districts here are huge). It’s been almost twenty years since I spent a lifetime in a few months in Laredo, the armpit of Texas (ruh oh, but I did several tours there, not a particularly pleasant place, especially in summer).

You clearly have no idea of the immense cultural, social, and political differences between S TX Hispanics and Anglos when it comes to something like this. As far as good ol’ Phil Gramm, always knew he sucked, but never was in his district (but I know where his ranch is), and never voted for him as a Senator. We don’t hear much from/about this POS anymore, but I suspect he’s in the background, like Rove, somewhere. If he’s not still raking in cash from UBS bank.
