He Just Makes This Stuff Up

April 03, 2020 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Y’all, seriously, does he dream this stuff and then thinks it’s real or is he just jacking with us?

President Donald Trump falsely claimed Wednesday that airplane and train passengers are being given “very strong tests” for the coronavirus both before departure and after arrival.

Asked at a White House briefing if he is considering a temporary ban on domestic flights and rail travel, Trump said he was thinking about how to handle flights to and from virus “hot spots,” but that it’s “a very tough thing” to shut down “entire transportation systems.” He also claimed that there are safeguards already in place.
“They’re doing tests on airlines — very strong tests — for getting on, getting off. They’re doing tests on trains — getting on, getting off,” he said.

No.  That’s not happening.

It appears that a couple of airlines are scanning foreheads for temperatures.  Whoop-te-do.

As always, since forever, Trump will say, on the spur of the moment, whatever he thinks will make him “look good”.

    Kayfabe. Lies.

Everything the man does is empty gesture, except for the extortion, racketeering, and fraud.
He thinks “That makes me smart”.

Ok, I’m as sick as anybody of his lying, but I don’t get to attend his lie-fests. So why are reporters still not holding
him accountable and calling him out on the spot!? I think at this point I’m more fed up with msm reporters who simply transcribe what he says without calling for clarification or proof of what he says while they’re standing
    in front of him.
Rolling over must seem a lot easier for them than standing their ground and doing their job.

Networks need to just tape what he yammers on about. After, if they want, they could make a bullet point summary of his lies with a note which are lies. We need to impress on folks – mainly in the White House – that folks need to stay home. Probably won’t happen until enough of us po’folks die and create a maid/landscaper/waitress etc shortage.

He’s been surrounded by soulless sycophants his entire life who “believe” whatever he says even when it’s transparently wrong. He still is. This is a way of thinking and behavior that we simply cannot comprehend. We think that they all feel embarrassed by their utterly thorough incompetence or guilty about being caught in childish lies. But these responses do not exist in their minds or anywhere in their world. Saying transparently untrue, vile and stupid things is a form of power when everyone around you overrules their own judgment and sincerely believes you are absolutely correct. Pence is the most complete and perfect embodiment of this servile daily soul-selling that you will ever see.

There’s a scene in one of those Mafia movies, Goodfellas I think, where the boss says something that seems like a joke. But nobody is sure so there’s this nervous pause where everyone looks at everyone else waiting for someone to react so they can see how the boss reacts to that because they don’t know what is true until the boss tells them. Finally someone kinda laughs and the boss smiles and suddenly everyone is laughing hysterically. This is how trump’s world works. And the national press, especially the NYT is letting him get away with it far too often.

  6. I worked for a department head from mid 80s to y2k who presaged the Pino. He knew he lied to other department heads and elected officials. We knew, because he’s say to us after the others left, “go off and make sure I haven’t lied to them.” More often than not, we’d pull a diamond, or at least, a gemstone, out of the goat’s a$$, but sometimes it all fell apart. This is how I see the Pino these days.

As one recent headline says, history will brutalize him. As well it should.

I know for a fact this isn’t true. My friend’s daughter was stuck in Egypt for a couple of weeks. Finally got a flight out on Wednesday this week. She & the other passengers were screened and temp-checked in Cairo before boarding, but upon landing at Dulles in DC, there were no checks at all. She boarded a flight to San Diego the next morning, again, no screening. Doesn’t make me feel warm & fuzzy

Only distantly related, but did anyone else get anything at all (mailed form, phone call, visit by census taker) before the census date or on it?

We didn’t. Nobody called, nobody came, no mail about the census came, no form on the front porch, etc.

Lived here 40 + years, never missed a census. Always contacted by census taker from the time I left my childhood home: In Alexandria VA (1970), here (1980, ’90, 2000, 2010) This time, nada. So I reported in online, coaxing my old cranky computer to work with their form. But ye gods, with all the hoorah about the pandemic, how many people failed to notice that they didn’t get the contact they should’ve had???

Asked a friend in another city–they hadn’t gotten any notice, form, contact, either. They also reported online. But not everyone is online.

And yeah, in terms of basic common-sense medicine and epidemiology, this Administration and too many states run by the GOP have done everything possible to screw us all over except collecting sneeze droplets and putting them in sprayers.

Foisting that slimy sleazy Jared Kushner on us as pandemic czar is only one of many “worsts.”

    13
  14. slipstream says:

Elizabeth Moon: I received two mailings from the census, one with instructions to complete census online and the other a nagging reminder. Both previous to the census date, April 1. Done.

The census hopes for about 90% to complete online. The plans to do in-person visits to those who did not complete online are on hold, while they try to figure out how to do this in the face of a highly contagious epidemic.

I know I wouldn’t answer my door, with strangers knocking.

Wonder what the Mormon missionaries are doing these days?

Yippee … pResident Covidiot* 45 has placed the TSA in charge of our health. Dunno. Maybe that is a step up from preying menace Pence and Jughead Kushner. wth CDC, TSA, all the same government deep state alphabet soup to Donnie*. Donnie’s* new emission standard for novel coronavirus is step on up to the TSA counter and if on the “very strong test” (maybe he means x-ray?) your lungs are not more than 50% filled with fluid, you’re “good to fly.”

  17. Elizabeth Moon says:

slipstream: Glad to know the census stuff is working for some. I have suspicions, because twice previously I’ve been yanked off the voting rolls…despite living in the same house for (at the times it happened) over 20 years, and voting in every election prior to the ones when I was told I wasn’t listed.

Here in Georgia, the governor has re-opened the beaches 24 hours after discovering that carriers can actually have no symptoms. The mayor of Tybee Island (where half the police are out sick) is less than thrilled.

  19. Another example of lunacy cognitive dissonance from this maladministration.
On one hand immigrant farm workers have been classified as essential workers yet they continue to waste money on his vanity wall to keep these essential workers out.

I first heard a substitute teacher in Columbus GA say this about students who weren’t behaving well. I was horrified when she said”I’m going to pinch your head off and tell God you died”.
I hadn’t thought about it in years until the advent of the T-Rump presidency. Sure would solve a lot of problems without him.
