Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
Yes!
1Local / state / national is the building base of Govt Vs. non exchanging elements of No Way policy. The conservative push of success has been their focus at the farmland level. I’m happy for Sly / i don’t see it cross carrying the other candidates at this pt. of numeration.
2Yeah, Houston! The local elections are where the Tea Party gets their evil on… glad to see them fail.
3But Cruz endorsed King. You mean Houstonians didn’t listen to Cruz???
4Yeah, we’ve still got a long way to go to turn Texas blue, but thank goodness we have this toehold on an important city. Governance of this state is crappy enough without letting the Snacibuper do their damage to Houston.
5Such good news!
6Gret news! Thank you Juanita Jean for investing the personal effort to get out the vote. You are leading by example for all of us in this state.
7KHOU says that the margin of victory was Ft. Bend County.
Congratulations!
8Well done, Houston Democrats! May your tribe increase.
9That is the first thing I saw when I got up this morning, Happy, happy day! Yeah for Houston!!!
10Yeah-uss!
11That’s one for the good guys! Hurray!
12Democrats in Ft. Bend County do really, really good work.
I want to make sure I understand something. Mayor-elect Turner was endorsed by President Obama. He embraced that endorsement…. Many other Democrats who run for office…. also run away from President Obama, and they lose.
There’s probably a message there ….. somewhere. š
13Congrats on a helluva good job! Oh my god what a tight race! If 2.25 undecided votes per precinct had flopped the other way….
Bet you’re glad you don’t have to go thru this every two years anymore.
Give old Sylvester a high five at his inaguration for me. Goddamn, but he’s been laboring in the vineyards for a loooong time. I hope he makes the most of it now that he’s there.
14Sylvester Turner turned away Bill King from bilking Houston!
15Wheeeewwwww!!!!
16Congratulations Houston and all the volunteers who do so much toward turning Texas Blue. Ben, this was a work of love from your wonderful Grandmother to you and your family!
17Wow! Made my day after reading the latest Trump-related crapola. Congratulations!
18“Iām going to dance on the table, take a swig of tequila, and go to bed.”
Is there a youtube link?
19Congratulations to the Houston Democrats! Long may Sylvester Turner wave!
20Congratulations!
21Well that’s the best damn political news I’ve heard in about forever! Congratulations on a successful personal effort! Mr Turner is a great guy; let’s term limit him out like Ms Parker!!
22Hope does spring eternal! Hooray for Houston.
23Voting sensibility … if unsure of of candidates leanings or intent / Take your mailed circular from opposition thinking & vote the opposite or other alternative. 2nd day of murky weather i’m pleased that enough Houston neighbors elected a Non business individual. He’s an attorney / and we all know they make nothing but, documents which protect our agreements amongst ourselves.
24Hopefully he can work to reverse the recent rule that only allows republican politicians to enter women restrooms and pry in their privates.
25Wonderful news, Houston…….birthplace of most of my in-laws!
26So happy for Houston…and you.
27Just returned from Houston..my sasdsy, brassy place of residence for 45 years. Miss you Houston. Way to go with Sylvester!
28I was expecting to hear selections from Handel for the Xmas season. It’s one of my favorites. But . . .
. . . this is even better!!!!!!! Yayyyyyyy Houston!!!
29I usually don’t vote in the run-offs, but made sure I got to my precinct in time to vote for Turner. So relieved to see he won. Still can’t understand how a city that voted for Mayor Parker for 3 terms voted against HERO. I was surprised how partisan this local election became.
30We lost the HERO vote because the anti-HERO campaign got in first with an absolutely deadly good robocall that basically said please vote to not let the pervs in the bathroom with my innocent little girls – and even though the pro-HERO campaign had three times the money of the antis, and even though it was really about preventing discrimination in housing and work – we never caught up after that first deadly good robocall poisoned the air.
31Onct in a great while it’s nice to get good news. I jist wisht it come along more often but I guess we’d git spoilt.
